A questionnaire was used to survey the perspective of the 22 mentors,24 students, 27 graduate students and 27 public health units on the competence of MPH student. The result showed that the practice skill, analyzing skill, program plan and practice skill, and emergency reaction abil-ity got more attention. This suggested that to the training of MPH,the training objective should focus on the ability to resolve problems; the curriculum should focus on the characters of public health and on the practice training.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of community-based rehabilitation (CBR) on older stroke patients in ability of activities of daily living (ADL).Methods50 older stroke patients were randomly divided into the rehabilitation group and control group. The rehabilitation group was treated with motor function exercise and ADL training, while the control group only took medicine. Two groups were evaluated with Barthel index before and after treatment. ResultsScores of Barthel index on the rehabilitation group were higher than that on the control group after treatment, and there was a significantly difference between two groups (P<0.01). Conclusions CBR has the significant effect on improving ADL in older stroke patients.

In practice of forensic medicine, potential disease can be associated with fatal asphyxia in restraint position. Research has demonstrated that nitric oxide (NO) and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) are plentifully distributed in skeletal muscle, contributing to the regulation of contractile and relaxation. In the current study, respiratory functions, indices of diaphragmatic biomechanical functions ex vivo, as well as NO levels in serum, the expressions of diaphragmatic inducible NOS (iNOS) mRNA, and the effects of L-NNA on contractility of the diaphragm were observed in sepsis induced by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) under the condition of restraint position. The results showed that in the CLP12-18h rats, respiratory dysfunctions; indices of diaphragmatic biomechanical functions (Pt, +dT/dt(max), -dT/dt(max), CT, Po, force over the full range of the force-frequency relationship and fatigue resistance) declined progressively; the NO level in serum, and iNOS mRNA expression in the diaphragm increased progressively; force increased significantly at all stimulation frequencies after L-NNA pre-incubation. Restraint position 1 h in CLP12 h rats resulted in severe respiratory dysfunctions after relative stable respiratory functions, almost all the indices of diaphragmatic biomechanical functions declined further, whereas little change took place in NO level in serum and diaphragmatic iNOS mRNA expression; and the effects of L-NNA were lack of statistical significance compared with those of CLP12 h, but differed from CLP18 h group. These results suggest that restraint position and sepsis act together in a synergistic manner to aggravate the great reduction of diaphragmatic contractility via, at least in part, the negative modulation of NO, which may contribute to the pathogenesis of positional asphyxia.

Objective To evaluate the value of ultrasound in assessing superficial temporal arterymiddle cerebral artery(STA-MCA)anastomosis in patients with moyamoya disease. Methods Ultrasonic Doppler studies were made pre-and postoperatively in 25 patients with moyamoya disease undergoing STAMCA anastomosis. The peak systolic velocity(PSV),end diastolic velocity(EDV),pulsatility index(PI)and resistance index(RI)were measured in external carotidartery(ECA) and superficial temporal artery (STA)pre-and postoperatively. The pattern of the collateral circulation through the bypass was categorized based on postoperative external carotid angiograms. Thus three categories were determined as extensive, moderate and poor. The patients were divided into three groups based on the pattern of the collateral circulation through the bypass, which was determined based on the angiographic findings.PSV,EDV,PI,RI of STA was compared between groups. Results ①The values of the PSV,EDV of anastomosed STA were significantly higher and the values of PI,RI were significantly lower after operation.②The values of the PSV,EDV of the anastomosed ECA tended to be higher and the values of PI,RI tended to be lower in postoperation patients, but the differences were not significant within preoperation and postoperation group.③The Values of the PSV,EDV of the anastomosed STA were significantly different among the groups. The PSV.EDV tended to be higher and the PI,RI tended to be lower in patients with more extensive bypass flow.④The blood flow direction of STA was from extracranial to intracranial. Conclusions The PSV,EDV,PI,RI of STA can predicting the extent of collateral flow through an STA-MCA bypass.Color Doppler ultrasonography is a noninvasive method of assessing the function of STA-MCA bypass in patients with moyamoya disease.
