During transportation of patients with cerebral infarction and OSAHS, 54 Patients in comparison group was not in the ambulance with ventilator while 73 patients in observation group with ventilation. After two weeks treatment, the observation group's heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and carbon dioxide partial pressure were significantly lower than that of the comparison group, while the oxygen partial pressure and oxygen saturation was significantly higher than the comparison group,observation group mortality rate was 2.74%, significantly lower than the comparison group which was 7.41%.

Rational applicatioa of inorganic nitrogen to cultivated Ginseng can improve its quality and output. It was found that the optimum ratio of nitrogen to phosphate fertilizers for the cultivation of Ginseng showed be 1:1.6.

Integrative medicine (IM) has made great progress after more than half a century practice. However, many issues are yet to be in-depth explored. How to define clinical connotation and extension of IM, how to define feasible methods and means for diagnosis and treatment of IM, how to train more skilled talents of IM, how to elevate clinical efficacy of IM, these are all topics in need of further study. In this paper authors explored the clinical development mode of IM, extracted connotation and extension of IM clinics, hoping to promote the development of IM clinics.

Objective To compare operative and non-operative treatments for intraarticular fractures of distal radius by meta-analysis. Methods The literature which had been published in English or Chinese from 1988 to 2008 on comparison between operative and non-operative treatments of intraartieular fractures of distal radius were searched for on line.Three Chinese papers and 2 English ones were eligibly included in this meta-analysis.The clinical data of the 5 papers were collected for comparing wrist function,reduction on X-rays,complications and patient's satisfaction. Results Operative treatment resulted in better reduction on X-rays,better wrist function and fewer complications but lower patient's satisfaetion than non-operative treatment. Conclusion The operative treatment should be recommended for intraarticular fractures of distal radius,but meanwhile the needs and expectations of the patient should be also addressed.

Conducting polymers play important roles in tissue engineering and biomaterials. This paper introduces their syntheses and applications to medical engineering.

Objective To discuss the clinical value of u ltrasound-guided stereotactic biopsy and excision using the Mammotome system in the treatment of benign breast lesions. Methods A retrospecti ve analysis was made on the efficacy of ultrasound-guided Mammotome biopsy and e xcision in the management of 61 patients clinically diagnosed as having benign b reast lesions between October 2001 and October 2002. Results T he lesions were histologically confirmed as fibroadenoma in 51 patients and mast opathia in 10 patients. The operative time was 20.6?4.1 min. All procedures w ere performed smoothly. Of the 61 patients, no infection or breast deformity occ urred on short-term follow-up examinations (1 month) except for mild subcutaneou s hemorrhage in 3 patients, and no obvious scarring was seen on long-term follow -up (2 years). Recurrence was found in only 2 patients. Conclusions Treatment of benign breast diseases by the Mammotome system can offer comp lete excision of the lesion, minimal invasion, a low recurrence rate, and good c osmetic outcomes.

To screen for the serum proteomic patterns and related genes in early liver metastasis of colorectal cancer by surface enhanced laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (SELDI-TOF-MS)and the RT2 Profiler TMPCR Array Human Tumor Metastasis (PAHS-028A) chip, so as to provide theoretical evidence for diagnosis of early liver metastasis of colorectal cancer. Methods The serum proteins of 20 colorectal cancer patients and 20 patients with early liver metastasis of colorectal cancer were detected by WCX 2 chip and SELDI-TOF-MS. PCR gene chips were used to screen the differentially expressed genes between the primary tumor and the liver metastases. Results SELDI-TOF-MS found that, when the M/Z values ranged 2000-30000, the contents of two proteins (3774 and 11851) were significant different in three samples. PCR gene chip found that the expressions of following genes were significantly higher in the primary colorectal cancer specimens than in the liver metastatic nodules: ACTB, APC, CTNNA1, NR4A3, MMP10, CTSL1, RB1, HPSE, ETV4, GNRH1, CDKN2A, KISS1R, IL8RB, ITGA7, ITGB3, DENR, RPSA, CXCR4, MYCL1, NME2, PNN, SMAD4, MMP11, SRC, RORB, SSTR2, SYK, TCF20, MMP3, TIMP2, TIMP3, TIMP4, and TRPM1;and the following genes were significantly higher in the liver metastases than in the primary tumors: MMP9, FN1, CST7, and CCL7. Conclusion SELDI-TOF-MS and gene chip technique can provide a theoretic basis for the mechanism, diagnosis and treatment of early liver metastasis of colorectal cancer.
