The method of triggering the respirator to perform airfeed by the management of the diaphragmatic electromyography (EMG) signal is introduced in this paper. By using LabVIEW, an analysis software of the diaphragmatic electromyographic (EMG) signals is developed to filter the diaphragmatic EMG signal. The characteristics of the filtered signal is analyzed to catch the inspiratory onset, and then a series of signals are sent out duly to trigger the respirator to perform airfeed, and thus the patient's respiration can be synchronized with the respirator.

NAC transcription factors involved in plant growth and development, as well as responses to biotic and abiotic stress. RNAi Vectors for SmNAC transcription factors of Salvia miltiorrhiza was constructed by using Gateway cloning technology, in order to further study the function of SmNAC1 transcription factor. According to Gateway cloning technology, the specific fragments of SmNAC1 containing attB adapter was amplified by PCR using ultra-fideling phusion polymerase of NEB. By the BP recombination reaction, the PCR product containing attB was transferred to an donor vector (pENTR/SD/D-TOPO). Finally, SmNACi specific gene was cloned into pK7GWIWG2D plant expression vectors by LR recombination reaction. Experimental results showed that Gateway cloning technology provide a rapid and highly efficient way to clone the interested gene.

Chinese Journal of Cardiology 2008;36(8):718-721
OBJECTIVETo evaluate the cardiopulmonary exercise capacity in patients with essential hypertension (EH) complicating with or without left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH).
METHODSGraded maximal exercise test on the bicycle ergometer with respiratory gas analysis were performed in 30 gender and age matched normotensive controls, 40 EH patients without LVH and 30 EH patients with LVH (LVMI>125 g/m2 in males and > 120 g/m2 in females). Metabolic equivalents (METs), oxygen uptake (VO2), oxygen uptake to body mass ratio (VO2/kg) and oxygen uptake to heart beat ratio (VO2/HR) at time of reaching anaerobic threshold (AT) and at maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) were measured and compared.
RESULTSMETs and VO2/kg were significantly reduced in EH patients with or without LVH compared with controls [at AT, METs: 3.57 +/- 0.8 and 4.34 +/- 1.47 vs. 5.21 +/- 1.45; VO2/kg: 12.38 +/- 2.85 and 14.42 +/- 4.33 vs. 18.48 +/- 4.52, all P < 0.01; at VO2max, METs: 4.94 +/- 1.24 and 5.90 +/- 1.51 vs. 6.96 +/- 1.85; VO(2)/kg: (17.20 +/- 4.34) mlxmin(-1)xkg(-1) and (20.41 +/- 4.59) mlxmin(-1)xkg(-1) vs. (24.04 +/- 5.21) mlxmin(-1)xkg(-1), all P < 0.01]. METs and VO2/kg at both time points were also significantly reduced in EH patients with LVH compared EH patients without LVH (all P < 0.05). The lower VO2/kg in hypertensive patients was significantly correlated to higher LVMI (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSCardiopulmonary exercise capacity was reduced in hypertensive patients, especially in hypertensive patients with LVH.

Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2004;33(4):290-295
OBJECTIVETo investigate the protective effects of minocycline against hair follicle damage induced by cytosine arabinoside (Ara-c).
METHODSAn in vitro organ culture of mouse vibrissa follicles was used and different concentrations of Ara-c and minocycline were added in the culture media. The total growth length, growth speed and growth period of hair were observed with invert microscopy and the survival of hair bulb cells was measured by MTT method.
RESULTMinocycline (0.3 x 10(-6) approximately 10(-5) mol/L) improved hair follicle total growth length, growth speed and hair growth period and also improved survival of hair bulb cells in vitro organ culture, which were inhibited by Ara-c.
CONCLUSIONMinocycline can protect hair follicle directly from damage induced by Ara-c.

Chinese Journal of Hepatology 2007;15(6):431-436
OBJECTIVETo assess the economic evaluation of short- and long-term antiviral treatments of HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B from the perspective of the Chinese health care system.
METHODSA 10-health state Markov model was developed to estimate long-term cost and effectiveness of different treatments of HBeAg-positive CHB. Incremental cost-effectiveness analysis was then carried out.
RESULTSIn comparison with no antiviral treatment, lamivudine administered for 1-year was a highly cost-effective short-course treatment for HBeAg-positive CHB. However, of the treatments evaluated, lamivudine plus adefovir as a rescue medication or adefovir plus lamivudine as a rescue medication administered for 5 years resulted in a more sustained decrease in the rate of disease progression. In comparison with 1 year lamivudine treatment, the incremental cost per Quality Adjusted Life Year (QALY) for treatment with lamivudine plus adefovir or adefovir plus lamivudine as a rescue medication for 5 years was CNY 25 115 and 35 577 respectively, which was 55.2% and 36.5% lower than the estimated international threshold value for China.
CONCLUSIONIn comparison with no antiviral treatment, lamivudine administered for 1-year is a highly cost-effective short-course treatment. Longer duration antiviral treatments, lamivudine plus adefovir or adefovir plus lamivudine as a rescue medication are both cost-effective strategies, resulting in a more sustained decrease in the rate of disease progression.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2003;19(4):196-200
OBJECTIVE:
To study genetic polymorphism of 7 Y-specific short tandem repeats (STR) and assess their usefulness in forensic casework.
METHODS:
7 Y-STR have been amplified in two multiplex reactions, (Multiplex I:DYS391, GATA-A4, GATA-A10 and GATA-H4. Multiplex II:DYS439,DYS437 and DYS434). PCR products were separated by polyacrylamide gels electrophoresis followed by silver stain.
RESULTS:
When 372 unrelated individuals from the Han population in Guangdong were detected by those system, DYS391, GATA-A4, GATA-A10, GATA-H4,DYS439,DYS437 and DYS434 showed 5,7,6,5,6,4,4 alleles, respectively. A total of 254 different haplotypes were identified, of which 201 (79.13%) were found in single individuals. The overall haplotypes diversity reached 0.9960.
CONCLUSION
The 7 Y-STR loci are highly genetic polymorphism and they will be very powerful for establishing Y-STR database, understanding human origin, paternity testing and personal identification.

Chinese Journal of Neuromedicine 2008;7(5):491-494
Objective To study the relationships between hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HICH) and family history of hypertensive disease, gender, age and disease course in Guangzhou. Methods The clinical profiles of 425 (269 male and 156 female) patients with HICH admitted to Nanfang Hospital, Guangzhou from 2000 to 2004 were collected. The relationships between disease incidences in different family histories of hypertensive disease, genders, ages, courses of disease and blood pressure were analyzed. Results In all 425 cases with HICH, the ratio of male to female of people with family history of hypertensive disease was significantly higher than that without in male. There were no obvious differences between with and without family history in female. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were higher in the male than in the female in young group. In middle-aged group and elder group, there were no significant differences in SBP and DBP between the male and the female. The distributions of SBP and DBP were all acute stage> subacute stage> convalescence stage. Conclusions Hypertensive disease should be supplied with different strategies of prevention and cure in accordance with different ages, genders and courses of disease, which can decrease the incidence of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage maximally.
