Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of telbivudine for pregnant women with hepatitis Be antigen (HBeAg)negative chronic hepatitis B(CHB). Methods Sixty-two cases of HBeAg negative CHB pregnant women were collected from May 2007 to May 2012,and they were divided into telbivudine group (n=31 ,600 mg per day by oral administration)and compound glycyrrhizin group (n=31 ,120 mg per day by intravenous administration). All neonates were given intramuscular injection of 200 IU hepatitis Bimmune globalin at birth immediately and 15 days after birth, and 20 μg genetically engineered hepatitis B vaccine at 0,1 and 6 months after birth. The serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT)level and hepatitis B virus (HBV)DNA titer were monitored. The HBV DNA negative conversion rate, the rate of intrauterine infection, duration of pregnancy, delivery mode, neonate weight and disability rate were compared between groups. All categorical data were analyzed using the chi-square test and comparison between groups was analyzed by t test. Results In telbivudine group, the HBV DNA level before delivery ([0.20±0.11]lg copy/mL)and 6 weeks after delivery ([0.22±0.13]lg copy/mL) were lower than that before treatment [(6.24±0.75 )lg copy/mL]and the differences were statistically significant (t=303.128 and 301 .321 ,respectively;both P <0.01).The negative conversion rate of HBV DNA in telbivudine group was 28 cases before delivery, while in compound glycyrrhizin group,no one had HBV DNA negative conversion. And statistical significant differences were achieved between these two groups before delivery and 6 weeks after delivery (t = -20.285 and -8.721 ,respectively;both P <0.01).In telbivudine group, the ALT levels before delivery and 6 weeks after delivery were (13.08±5.87) U/L and (25.97 ± 17.48)U/L,respectively,which were significantly decreased compared with that before treatment (205.95± 95.69 )U/L.The differences were statistically significant (t = 93.128 and 81.321, respectively;both P <0.01).In compound glycyrrhizin group, the ALT level before delivery ([104.15 ± 69.15]U/L)was lower than that before treatment ([209.60 ± 102.24]U/L)and the difference was statistically significant (t = 9.281 ,P =0.032).However,the ALT level was fluctuant 6 weeks after delivery (150.26± 86.43)U/L,which was not significantly different from that before treatment (t =2.821 ,P =0.122).The ALT levels before delivery and 6 month after delivery were significantly different in both two groups (t=-2.559 and -3.158,respectively;both P <0.05 ).There were no statistically significant differences between these two groups in the rate of intrauterine infection, duration of pregnancy, delivery mode, neonate weight and disability rate. Conclusion The using of telbivudine for pregnant women with HBeAg negative CHB can effectively control the hepatitis activation and reduce the virus titer.

OBJECTIVETo develop a transparent, non-toxic, non-irritating anti-fogging agent with long-lasting effect for nasal endoscopy.
METHODSThe anti-fogging agent was prepared by mixing ethanol, propylene glycol, polyoxyethylene lauryl ether, sodium dodecyl sulfate, polyethylene glycol 400 and deionized water at different proportions based on an orthogonal test design. Twenty-seven test samples of the anti-fogging agents were obtained, which were colorless, transparent, and non-irritating, with a pH value of 7-8. Storz00 nasal endoscopy and its imaging system were used to test the anti-fogging time of the 27 samples, and each agent was tested for 3 times with medical Seoul iodine and 95% ethanol as control.
RESULTSThe optimal composition of the anti-fogging agent was 20% ethanol, 10% propylene glycol, 20% polyoxyethylene lauryl ether, 4% sodium dodecyl sulfate, 4% polyethylene glycol, 42% deionized water. The anti-fogging time of this agent reached 15 min, significantly longer than that of medical Seoul iodine (4 min) and 95% ethanol (18 s).
CONCLUSIONThis anti-fogging agent for nasal endoscopes is colorless and safe and has a long anti-fogging time by forming a homogenous transparent membrane over the endoscopic lens.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2013;33(9):836-839
The reports of clinical randomized controlled trial (RCT) that takes abdominal acupuncture as main treatment are arranged in order to summarize its advantage diseases at current stage. Up to May 1st, 2012, 107 reports that meet the inclusion criteria are collected by computer retrieval in CBM database, CNKI, VIP, Wan fang database, PubMed, Embase and manual retrieval in outdated issue database of Guangzhou University of CM. Diseases that has better efficacy by abdominal acupuncture are summarized. There are 38 kinds of present-stage advantage diseases of abdominal acupuncture, including internal medicine, surgery, gynaecology, pediatrics, orthopedics and dermatology, but those are far less than abdomen needle indications in the Abdominal Acupuncture Therapy written by Professor BO Zhi-yun. The doctors of abdominal acupuncture should not only pay attention to the application of RCT in clinical research to acquire high-quality reports, but also improve one's level of treatment and research of abdominal acupuncture to apply it into more specialist areas.

Chinese Journal of Hepatology 2012;20(6):448-452
To study the genotypes of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in patients from Chongqing district and determine the prevalence of autoantibodies in these patients. HBV genotyping was carried out by restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of venous blood serum samples from 252 chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients and 25 healthy controls. Indirect immunofluorescent assay was used to detect autoantibodies, including antinuclear antibody, anti-mitochondrial antibody, anti-smooth muscle (SM) antibody, and anti-liver and kidney microsomal antibody. Immunospot assay was used to detect anti-ribonucleoprotein/anti-SM antibodies, anti-SS-A antibody, anti-SS-B antibody, anti-scl-70 antibody, and anti-Jo-1 antibody. Correlations between the production of autoantibodies and patient age and sex and various genetypes of HBV were analyzed by the Chi-squared test. The most frequent HBV genotype in CHB patients was B (67.3%), followed by genotype C (32.7%). Genotypes A, D, E, F, G and H were not detected in any of the CHB patients. The positive rate of autoantibodies was higher in the CHB patients than in the healthy group (76.98% vs. 12.00%, X2 = 44.60, P less than 0.05). There was no significant differences in the autoantibodies profiles of CHB patients carrying the B or C genotypes ( X2 = 0.0016, P more than 0.05). The main HBV genotypes in CHB patients in the Chongqing district are B and C. Autoantibodies are prevalent among these CHB patients, and are correlated with patient age and course of liver disease but not HBV genotype or patient sex.
