AIM: To systemically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of intraocular implants for vitreous retinal surgery.METHODS: We performed a comprehensive search for studies reporting vitreous surgery with intraocular implants randomized controlled and a retrospective controlled clinical trials from China Hownet ( CNKI ), Wanfang database, and VIP literature database. Studies obtained from those database were filtered according to the criteria, and data were retrieved from eligible studies for further analysis. Then we performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intraocular implants using comprehensive Meta - analysis software version 2 (Biostat, Englewood, NJ).
RESULTS: In total 36 studies were recruited for our Meta - analysis, including 5 092 cases. Meta analysis showed: 1) regarding the efficacy of repairing the retinal detachment, silicone oil was a better intraocular implants than C3 F8(OR= 1. 76; 95% CI: 1. 19-2. 60, P = 0. 0047) and SF6( OR = 4. 68; 95% CI: 1. 48 - 14. 81, P = 0. 0087); 2) regarding the risk of postoperative cataract, silicone oil showed significant higher risk than BBS (OR = 3. 24; 95%CI: 2. 10-4. 99, P= 1. 09 e-7), and C3 F8(OR= 3. 03; 95% CI:1. 50 - 6. 10, P = 0. 0019 ); 3 ) regarding the risk of postoperative intraocular pressure, silicone oil showed significant higher risk than BBS (OR= 6. 74; 95% CI: 3. 38-13. 41, P= 5. 67 e-08), and C3 F8 also showed a higher risk than BBS (OR= 4. 79; 95% CI: 2. 37-9. 68, P = 1. 29 e-05). In addition, silicone oil showed significant lower risk as compared with heavy silicone oil (OR= 0. 16; 95% CI: 0. 08-0. 53, P= 0. 0026).
CONCLUSION: The intraocular implants for the treatment of retinal detachment in vitreous retinal surgery are mainly divided into two major categories, liquid and gas implants. The silicone oil, a major liquid implant, shows higher efficacy in terms of treating retinal detachment than the gas implants. However, the silicone oil is associated with a higher risk of postoperative cataract and intraocular pressure as compared with gas implants.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect and mechanism of Ganbi decoction (GBD) in treating patients with antituberculotic agent caused liver injury (ATB-LI).
METHODSOne hundred and twenty-eight patients with ATB-LI were randomly assigned to the treated group (n = 66) and the control group (n = 62) with the envelop method. Meanwhile, 60 healthy persons were selected as the healthy control group. The treated group was treated by GBD one dose every day with the constituents modified depending on patients' symptoms, and the control group was treated with glucuronolactone tablets and inosine injection. One week was taken as one treatment course. The changes of clinical syndromes, physical signs, T-lymphycyte sub-groups and serum level of nitric oxide (NO) were observed before and after treatment and the recovery time of liver function was recorded. The outcome was compared with that in the healthy control group.
RESULTSIn the treated group, 28 patients (42.4%) were cured, 30 (45.5%) improved and 8 (12.1%) ineffectively cured, the total effective rate being 87.9% (58/66). In the control group, 17 patients (27.4%) were cured, 24 (38.7%) improved, and 21 (33.9%) ineffectively cured, the total effective rate being 66.1% (41/62). The total effective rate in the treated group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Liver function was improved in both groups, recovery time in the treated group was 12.0 +/- 7.0 days, which was significantly shorter than that in the control group (16.0 +/- 8.0 days), showing significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). The levels of CD3, CD4 and CD8 were significantly higher and level of NO significantly lower in the two groups of patients than those in the healthy control group (P < 0.05), but these parameters were improved more significantly in the treated group after treatment, when compared with those before treatment or with those in the control group, all showing significant difference (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONGBD could prevent ATB-LI, and its mechanism could be by way of reducing NO production induced by endotoxin of macrophage and stimulating the proliferation of T-lymphycyte to elevate immunity.

Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2022;45(12):1293-1296
Urine cell-free DNA (ucfDNA) contains DNA fragments released from the lysis of cells in the urinary system, and circulating cell-free DNA (ccfDNA) can also enter the urine after glomerular filtration, and the mutation information carried by tumor DNA contained in ucfDNA and ccfDNA is consistent. Therefore, as a biomarker for molecular diagnosis of urological and non-urinary tumors, ucfDNA, has become a research hotspot in the field of liquid biopsy in recent years. UcfDNA has potential application value in individualized treatment, early diagnosis, dynamic monitoring of therapeutic efficacy, and prognosis assessment, etc. However, in order to realize the clinical application of urine ucfDNA, the extraction and accurate detection of ucfDNA still need to be solved.

AIMTo study the effects of different acute hypoxia on blood pressure, heart rate and microvessels and free radical in rabbits.
METHODSThe experiment model was carried out with acute hypoxia on two groups of rabbits, using artificial inspiration 12.5% O2 and 87.5% N2, 8.5% O2 and 91.5% N2 (equivalent to altitudes of some 4 000 m and 6 500 m) keeping hypoxia for 5, 10, 15, 20 min. During the course of it, the changes of blood pressure, heart rate and microvessels response, superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA) were recorded accordingly.
RESULTS(1) systolic pressure was slightly up, then down in 5 mins. Diastolic pressure was significantly down (P < 0.05) in 20 min. (2) Heart rate showed reduced and prolonged, particularly in 8.5% hypoxia group (P < 0.05). (3) Vas bores of microvessle expanded (P < 0.05) and the blood stream became slow gradually (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) in following acute hypoxia time. (4) SOD was significantly down (P < 0.05), MDA was significantly increased (P < 0.05) in 20 mins.
CONCLUSIONAcute hypoxia could cause the blood pressure and heart rate to decrease, vas bore of microvessle to expand, the blood circulation to slow down and free radicals would increase.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of urokinase and low molecular weight heparin in children with nephrotic syndrome complicated with intracranial venous thrombosis.
METHODSUrokinase and low molecular weight heparin were administered to the 5 patients intravenously. The initial dose of urokinase was 2000 - 4000 U/(kg.d), the initial pulse dose was 20 000 - 40 000 U given within 15 - 30 minutes, and the left was infused by using a pump, from the second day 2000 U/(kg.d) urokinase was infused daily for 3 to 7 days. During the treatment thrombin time (TT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) were tested 3 times every week, with particular attention to bleeding. Low molecular weight heparin 100 - 120 AXaIU/kg, 1 or 2 times per day was hypodermally injected for a course of two weeks. Anti-platelet drugs: long-term oral administration of dipyridamole 3 - 5 mg/(kg.d) was applied 2 - 3 times every day for 3 months.
RESULTSThe clinical symptoms disappeared after one month of the combined therapy of urokinase, low molecular weight heparin and dipyridamole in 5 cases of nephrotic syndrome complicated with intracranial venous thrombosis in children, the plasma viscosity returned to normal in 1 month, activated partial thromboplastin time, prothrombin time, fibrinogen degradation products returned to normal in 1 to 2 months, venous thrombosis disappeared after 1 to 3 months in head CT or MRI examination, showing the cerebral venous sinus thrombosis complete recanalization without relapse cases in follow-up.
CONCLUSIONThe early application of urokinase and low molecular heparin and anti-platelet coagulation drugs was effective. The early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of intracranial vein thrombosis in patients with nephrotic syndrome is important.
