To construct a steady canine abdominal aortic aneurysm model to study endovascular graft exclusion, fifteen hybrid canines(averaged 13 5kg) accepted bovine jugular vein segments replacement at infra kidney abdominal aortic to construct aneurysms, while lumbar arteries were reserved. All the fifteen aneurysms had satisfactory figures as clinical patterns. The aneurysm parameters were proximal neck diameter(6 0?0 8)mm, distal neck diameter(5 7?0 6)mm, aneurysm sac diameter(22 7?13 3)mm, length(36 1?17 9)mm. It is concluded that the designation of this model is suitable for endovascular graft exclusion, and can be applicated in many procedures.

ObjectiveTo investigate the prevention and treatment of pneumonia in patients with acute cervical spinal cord injury (CSCI).MethodsData of 278 patients with acute traumatic CSCI admitted from 1988 to 2004 were analyzed retrospectively. Results Pneumonia was the major complication following acute CSCI and discovered by radiography during the first 3—33 days after injury. The all cases were nosocomial pneumonia and G- bacilli were main pathogens, particularly pseudomonas aeruginosa. The incidence of pneumonia of patients with score ≤6 according to the criteria of American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) was significantly higher than those with ASIA score >6 (P<0.001).ConclusionThe high incidence of pneumonia in the CSCI is associated with the level and completeness of the injury. The G- bacilli causing nosocomial infection are main pathogens.

OBJECTIVETo investigate therapeutic effects of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) in the treatment of soft tissue defect combined with tendon and bone exposure.
METHODSFrom October 2007 to February 2011, 397 patients (412 feet) with open ankle fracture and dislocation combined with soft tissue defected were treated by VSD. There were 301 males and 96 females with an average age of 36 years (ranging age from 20 to 73 years). According to AO classification, 74 feet were type I, 211 feet were type II, 108 feet were type III and 19 feet were type IV. The mean time from injury to operation was 5.6 h ( 2 to 12 h). The mean treatment time of was 10 months (4 to 19 months).
RESULTSOne hundred and forty-one patients were primarily healed, 97 patients were sutured at stage II. Split-thick skin grafting was performed at stage II was performed in 103 patients; free flap transplantation was performed in 25 patients. Three of the 34 patients with infection were removed steel plate; Eviscerate flap coverage wound was performed in 14 patients caused by the first metatarsal bone exposure; Toe amputation were performed in 22 cases caused by toes necrosis. Tarsometatarasl joints perforators' surgery was performed in 10 patients with forefeet necrosis. Thirty hundred and six patients were followed up from 3 to 20 months (averaged 10 months). The wounds healed well.
CONCLUSIONVSD for soft tissue defects caused by ankle injury is a simple and effective method, but can not replace debridement and transfer flap.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(17):3404-3408
Traditional processes are mostly adopted in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparation production and the quality of products is mostly controlled by terminal. Potential problems of the production in the process are unpredictable and is relied on experience in most cases. Therefore, it is hard to find the key points affecting the preparation process and quality control. A pattern of research and development of traditional Chinese medicine preparation process based on the idea of Quality by Design (QbD) was proposed after introducing the latest research achievement. Basic theories of micromeritics and rheology were used to characterize the physical property of TCM raw material. TCM preparation process was designed in a more scientific and rational way by studying the correlation among enhancing physical property of raw material, preparation process and product quality of preparation. So factors affecting the quality of TCM production would be found out and problems that might occur in the pilot process could be predicted. It would be a foundation for the R&D and production of TCM preparation as well as support for the "process control" of TCMIs gradually realized in the future.

Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2009;25(2):268-274
AIM: To explore the role of NO/ inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in the metabotromi glutamate receptor 2/3C (mGluR2/3) mediated-brain ischemic tolerance induced by cerebral ischemic preconditioning (CIP), and to observe the influences of α-methyl- (4-tetrazolyl- phenyl) glycine (MTPG), an antagonist of mGluR2/3, on the expression of iNOS during the induction of brain ischemic tolerance. METHODS: Thirty-six Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to four vessel occluding global brain ischemic model. Thionin staining and immunohistochemistry were used for neuropathological evaluation and assay of iNOS expression in the hippocampal CA1 subregion of the rats. RESULTS: In the sham group, weak expression of iNOS was detected. The expression of iNOS in the CIP and CIP+ischemic insult groups were increased significantly compared with that in the sham group. Administration of MTPG via lateral cerebral ventricle 20 min before CIP blocked the up-regulation of iNOS induced by CIP, but had no influence on the pyramidal neuron survival. However, in the MTPG+CIP+ischemic insult group, the expression of iNOS was extremely intensive compared to that in CIP and MTPG+CIP groups. Importantly, this up-regulation was accompanied with obvious delayed neuronal death. CONCLUSION: NO/iNOS pathway plays an important role in the process of mGluR2/3 mediated-brain ischemic tolerance induced by CIP.

Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(07):-
Objective To determine the variation of bone mineral density(BMD)and bone mineral content (BMC)in cadaveric lumbar vertebrae and investigate their significance in determining fracture modes and biomecha- nical properties. Methods The lumbar motion segments of the spines of 19 cadavers(mean age:56 years)were compressed to failure. The BMD and BMC of the cranial and caudal endplates were determined, along with the BMD and BMC of the upper and lower 1/3 transverse sub-endplate layers and the middle 1/3 transverse layer. The anteri- or,middle and posterior 1/3 vertical parts, anterior and posterior 1/2 vertical parts and the whole BMD and BMC were measured by using dual energy X-ray absorptiometry as well. All the data were analyzed statistically. Results Among the 19 segments, macrography after dissection revealed that 16 had been fractured, about 84.2%.The frac- ture always occurred in the centre or in the anterior part of the endplate.Within a vertebral body, the BMD and BMC of the cranial endplate were less than those of the caudal endplate, and the cranial 1/3 transverse layer and middle layer had lower BMD and BMC readings than the caudal layer. For the vertical region, from the anterior 1/3 to the posterior 1/3,or from the anterior 1/2 to the posterior 1/2,the BMD and BMC increased. For the endplate around the disc, the BMD of upper endplate was higher than that of the lower one,but the BMCs were equal. In one motion segment, the failure load correlated positively with BMD,and with the BMC of the endplate and the sub-endplate bone. Conclusion The variations in BMD and BMC within a vertebra and around a disc can explain why vertebral fractures are concentrated on the upper endplate, and why compressive fractures are always wedge-shaped.This un- derstanding can assist in the placement of inter-vertebral spacers.

Objective To study the antigenicity of human thyrotropin receptor(hTSHR)amino terminus (amino acid 29~280)and its association with Graves' disease. Methods Total thyroid RNA was prepared from human normal thyroid tissue.RNA was then reversely transcripted and cDNA was subjected to PCR amplification.PCR product was cloned into pcDNA3.1 and the recombinant plasmid was named pcDNA3.1/hTSHR188~940bp. Balb/c mice were immunized with peDNA3.1/hTSHR188~940bp. The levels of serum thyroxin,anti-TSHR antibody(TRAb)and thyroid stimulating antibody(TSAb)were measured, and the pathological changes of thyroid tissue were also observed. Results A 753 bp fragment encoding hTSHR ectodomain amino end was obtained after PCR amplification.Confirmed by Hind Ⅲ restriction enzyme digestion and DNA sequencing,pcDNA3.1/hTSHR188~940bphad been constructed successfully, with the correct sequence and direction of hTSHR188~940bp.In the Balb/c mice treated with pcDNA3.1/hTSHR188~940bp,elevated TRAb in week 6(0.148±0.018)were observed compared with those at week o(0.106±0.006,P<0.01),and kept a higher level till week 10(0.134±0.011,P<0.01).T4 and TSAb index values were significantly increased in week 10.Serum T4 concentration increased from(41.02±7.97)μg/L in week 0 to(62.20±12.77)μg/L in week 10(P<0.01);TSAb index values rose from 0.864±0.076 at week 0 to 1.392±0.615(P<0.01).Thyroid pathological examination showed that proliferated thyroid follicular epithelial cells and foll icular eapacity increased.Inflammatory cells were occasionally found. Conclusions There are antigen epitopes in hTSHR ectodomain amino acid 29~280,which can stimulate the production of TSAb.And the latter induces hyperthyroidism and Graves' disease like manifestations. It suggests that hTSHR ectodomain amino acid 29~280 is closely associated with Graves' disease, and maybe one of important etiological factors leading to the disease.
