Objective To investigate the effect of early enteral nutrition. Methods 248 patients with esophageal and gastric carcinoma were randomly divided into two groups, and received enteral nutrition(EN)and parenteral nutrition(PN)each continuously for 6 days after operation. The body weight, blood routine test, liver function, and postoperative day 8 were compared with those before operation. Results The body weight, red blood cell count, and the levels of hemoglobin, serum albumin and transaminase decreased less in EN group than those in PN group(P<0.01).The complication rates of anastomotic fistula, pulmonary infection, and delayedincision healing and average volume of pleural effusion were 0,13.8%,0,780ml in EN groups, while 3.2%,28.2%,7.2%,1842ml in PN group. Conclusion Early postoperative enteral nutirtion after esophageal carcinoma surgery can improve nutritional status and reduce complications in comparision with parenteral nutrition.

OBJECTIVETo study Chinese syndrome typing of acute hepatic failure (AHF) mice model by screening effective formulae.
METHODSLipoplysaccharides (LPS)/D-galactosamine (D-GaIN) was intraperitoneally injected to mice to establish the AHF mice model. Yinchenhao Decoction, Huanglian Jiedu Decoction, Buzhong Yiqi Decoction, and Xijiao Dihuang Decoction were administered to model mice respectively by gastrogavage. The behavior and the survival rate were monitored. The liver function and pathological changes of liver tissues were detected.
RESULTSIn all the tested classic recipes, the survival rate was elevated from 10% to 60% by administration of Xijiao Dihuang Decoction. Five h after modeling, the serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) level was (183.95 +/- 52.00) U/L, and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) (235.70 +/- 34.03) U/L in Xijiao Di-huang Decoction Group, lower than those of the model control group, but with insignificant difference (ALT: 213.32 +/- 71.93 U/L; AST: 299.48 +/- 70.56 U/L, both P > 0.05). Xijiao Dihuang Decoction could obviously alleviate the liver injury.
CONCLUSIONSXijiao Dihuang Decoction was an effective formula for LPS/D-GaIN induced AHF model. According to syndrome typing through formula effect, heat toxin and blood stasis syndrome dominated in the LPS/D-GalN induced AHF mice model.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2007;31(4):248-252
OBJECTIVETo identify and generalize classes of public health laboratory detection activities and to discuss the method of identification and generalization of classes of Public Health Conceptual Information Model.
METHODSAt first, materials should be collected from consulting literatures and experts, referring to the existing system. Then, identification and generalization of classes are got for business process analysis, writing description documents, summing up important conceptions and activities, By use-case analysis, use-case diagram and tabulation of important conception and activities and reference to PHCDM, a structural diagram of classes is constructed.
RESULTSA structure diagram of classes of public health laboratory detection activity is given.
CONCLUSIONSThis is a feasible method in identification and generalization of classes of public health laboratory detection activities.

Objective To determine the correlation of cardiovascular MRI with cardiac biomarkers and electrocardiography(ECG)in acute myocardial infarction(MI).Methods Nineteen patients with first acute MI were selected to undergo MRI on a 1.5 T system within 3-7 days after the onset of symptoms.A first-pass perfusion scan was performed with the administration of Gd-DTPA at a speed after cine MRI for global left ventricle(LV)funotions.Delay-enhanced MRI was performed by using an ECG-gated inversionrecovery fast-gradient echo-pulse sequence 5 to 10 minutes later with second bolus injection at a s peed.Infarct mass(IM),percentage size of infarction(PSI)and LV functions were compared with peak troponin T (peak TnT)and peak ereatine kinase-MB fraction (peak CK-MB).The 12-lead ECG was analysed for STelevation on admission.Pearson and Spearman correlation test and independent-Sample t test wel-e used for statistics. Results The IM (median 6.3 g) was correlated with peak TnT(median 0.8μg/L,r=0.487,P=0.0340)and left ventricle end-systolic volume index(LVESVI)(median 23.4 ml/m2,r=0.480,P=0.038).IM showed a negative correlation with left ventricle ejection fraction(LVEF)(54.1±15.4)/(r=-0.563.P:0.012).The PSI(median 6.0/)was correlated with peak TnT(r=0.583,P=0.009),peak CK.Mn(median 43.0 U/L,r=0.470,P=0.042)and LVSV[(57.6 ±15.0)ml,r=-0.482,P=0.036],peak TnT was also correlated with LVSV(r=-0.524,P=0.021).There were more involved segments(IS)(t=2.972,P=0.009),higher peak TnT(t=2.245,P=0.041)and peak CK-MB(t=2.508,P=0.024)in ST-elevation MI(STEMI)than in non ST-elevation MI(NSTEMI).Conclusions IM directly influences LV functions in acute MI.Peak TnT was a better biomarker reflecting PSI and LV functions. There were more involved segments in STEMI than in NSTEMI.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the feasibility and clinical application value of selecting viable spermatozoa by noncontact diode laser.
METHODSWe obtained immotile spermatozoa from 2 infertile men with obstructive azoospermia or severe asthenospermia and selected viable spermatozoa using a single laser shot at the sperm tail. Those that responded to the laser shot by a curling reaction of the tail were regarded as presumably viable and used for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
RESULTSThe mean fertilization rate was 88.89% after ICSI with the laser-selected viable spermatozoa. Both of the embryo transfers resulted in a single pregnancy.
CONCLUSIONNoncontact diode laser is a useful alternative for the assessment of sperm viability, which may help to achieve successful pregnancy.

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical efficacy difference between segmentation scraping and conventional acupuncture for cervical spondylosis (CS) so as to provide effective treatment method.
METHODSEighty-five cases of cervical type of CS were randomly divided into a scraping group (44 cases) and an acupuncture group (41 cases). The segmentation scraping therapy was used in the scraping group. The scraping group was treated with focusing on scraping the head and joint part of neck and occiput in the upper cervical spine injury, and focusing on scraping the lower section of cervical and shoulder in the lower cervical spine injury, once every seven days, totally for 3 times. In the acupuncture group, Fengchi (GB 20),Wangu (TE 5), Tianzhu (BL 10),Neck-Jiaji (EX-B 2), etc. were selected, once daily, for 15 days. The visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to evaluate the immediate analgesic effect after the first treatment and the clinical efficacy was observed after the end of treatment.
RESULTSAfter the first treatment, the score of VAS was decreased significantly in the scaping group (P < 0.01), but there was no significant difference in the acupuncture group compared with those before treatment (P > 0.05); the score of VAS in the scaping group after the first treatment was lower than that in the acupuncture group (3.66 +/- 0.74 vs 5.43 +/- 0.35, P < 0.01). Compared with before treatment, the scores of VAS were decreased significantly after treatment in two groups (both P < 0.01), but without significant difference between two groups (P > 0.05); the effective rate was 95.5% (42/44) in the scaping group and 87.8% (36/41) in the acupuncture group, the curative effects were similar (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONBoth of scraping and acupuncture therapies have good analgesic effect for cervical spondylosis, and overall effects are similar, but the immediate analgesic effect of scraping thrapy is better than that of conventional acupuncture.
