Objective To identify the value of multiparametric MR imaging features including diffusion weighted (DW) and dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MR imaging features in differentiation between inverted papilloma and malignant transformation of inverted papilloma in the sinonasal region. Methods Seventy-seven patients were included in this study, including 12 malignant transformation of inverted papilloma and 65 inverted papillomas.Conventional MRI including nonenhanced and static contrast-enhanced imaging,DCE-and the DW-MRI were analyzed.Differences in conventional MRI features,ADCs and DCE-MRI parameters between the two entities were determined by Fisher exact test, independent samples t-test and Mann-Whitney U test, respectively. Results There were significant differences in convoluted cerebriform pattern (P=0.045),necrosis (P=0.003) and orbit involvement (P< 0.01) between inverted papilloma and malignant transformation of inverted papilloma in the sinonasal region. The ADCs of inverted papilloma were significantly lower than those of malignant transformation of inverted papilloma (P<0.01).There were significant differences in time to peak enhancement (P<0.01),maximum contrast index (P=0.004) and time intensity curve types (P<0.01) between the two entities. Conclusions A multiparametric approach using conventional MR imaging with added ADCs and DCE-MRI parameters had the potential to improve the differentiation between inverted papilloma and malignant transformation of inverted papilloma in the sinonasal region.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most lethal malignant tumors. While the existing surgical resection and chemotherapy have failed to improve the prognosis of patients well, it is urgent to find safer and more effective therapies to meet the clinical therapeutic needs. Antibody drug conjugate (ADC) is a class of targeted antitumor agents that combines monoclonal antibodies with small molecule cytotoxic drugs

Objective To investigate the imaging characters of abdominal cocoon. Methods Six cases of abdominal cocoon proved by surgery and pathologic findings were retrospectively analyzed. Abdominal plain X-ray and CT were performed in 6 cases. The gastrointestinal barium meal series were undergone in 4 cases. The imaging findings were analyzed. Results Abdominal plain X-ray suggested intestinal obstruction in 3 of 6 cases. The gastrointestinal barium meal showed"cauliflower sign"or "concertina pattern"in all of the 4 cases;CT images revealed a conglomeration of multiple small bowel loops in all 6 cases and the intestinal loops seemed to be encapsulated in a membranelike sac. Conclusion The imaging features of gastrointestinal barium meal and CT scan could suggest the diagnose of abdominal cocoon.

OBJECTIVE To understand the relationship between the detection rate of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Children′s Hospital wards from Jan 2008 to Sep 2008 and disinfection and isolation in the department and investigate the change in antimierobial resistance of P.aeruginosa to provide basis for reasonable use of antibiotics in clinical practice.METHODS The clinically isolated P.aeruginosa strains were collected, cultured and identified by paper diffusing method. The results were evaluated according to the relevant documents of NCCLS of USA.RESULTS The resistant rates of P.aeruginosa to Ampicillin,Ampicillin/Sulbactam,ceftriaxone,cefazolin and SMI were higher than 98%.Their resistant rate to Levofloxacin and IMP was the lowest(about 2% or so).CONCLUSIONS Effective disinfection and isolation of P.aeruginosa should be performed.Selection of antimicrobial drugs should be according to the results of drug susceptibility, reduce the rate of bacterial resistance.

To reveal the variation of polysaccharides and alcohol-soluble extract contents of Dendrobium officinale, the polysaccharides and alcohol-soluble extracts contents of three D. officinale strains were determined by phenol-sulfuric acid method and hot-dip method, respectively. The results showed that the contents of polysaccharides and alcohol-soluble extracts and their total content were significantly different among D. officinale samples collected in different periods, and the variations were closely related to the phenology of D. officinale. Additionally, the quality variation of polysaccharides was closely related to the flowering of D. officinale, while the alcohol-soluble extracts was closely associated to the formation and germination of buds. According to the dynamic variation of these two compounds, it is more reasonable to harvest D. officinale at biennials pre-bloom than at specific harvesting month considering polysaccharides content. It is better to harvest before the germination of buds considering alcohol-soluble extracts. While with regards to both polysaccharides and alcohol-soluble extract, it is better to harvest this plant at the period from the sprouting to pre-bloom next year.
