Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2011;10(2):183-185
By analyzing data from a questionnaire survey on bilingual teaching, we evalueted the results of bilingual teaching for seven-year medical students and the main problems of bilingual teaching and solutions accordingly. An uneven English level on the part of teachers and students and imperfect materials etc. affect the overall results of bilingual teaching. Therefore persistent efforts need to be made in enhancing the teachers' English level, improving teaching methods and compiling proper textbooks so as to genuinely improve the bilingual teaching program.

Object To study the phsiochemical properties of storax ? cyclodextrin (? CD) inclusion complex Methods The inclusion complex was identified by the methods of TLC, X ray powder diffractometry and IR The solubility and dissolution rate of cinnamic acid in inclusion complex were investigated by HPLC Results The TLC showed that the main composition of storax had no change before and after being included by ? CD The spectra of X ray powder diffractometry and IR of the inclusion complex were remarkably different from those of storax and storax ? CD mixture It was shown a great improvement of the solubility and dissolution rate of cinnamic acid in the inclusion complex in 0 1 mol/L HCl, pH 6 6 and pH 7 5 phosphate buffer solution Conclusion The storax ? CD inclusion complex exhibits some new physical characteristics and its physiochemical properties are greatly changed comparing with those of storax

ObjectiveTo observe the cells of frontal recess region with multi-detector CT muhiplanar reconstruction(MPR).MethodsOne hundred patients without the disease of frontal sinus and frontal recess region underwent axial multi-detector CT scan with axial, coronal and sagittal multiplanar reconstruction.ResultsIn 100 cases(200 sides),the agger nasi cell is present in 186 sides(93.0%),the frontal cells were identified in 88 sides(44.0%),the prevalence of type Ⅰ,type Ⅱ,type Ⅲ and type Ⅳ cells were 51 sides(58.0%),23 sides(26.1%),14 sides(15.9%)and 0 sides, respectively. The suprabullar cells, the frontal bullar cells and the supraorbital ethmoid cells were identified in 130 sides (65.0%),23 sides(11.5%)and 11 sides(5.5%),respectively.The interfrontal septal cells were identified in 36 sides(18.0%).There was no significant difference between males and females,as well as between left and right side(P>0.05).Conclusion With MPR imaging, doctors could better understand the frontal recess region, which is helpful to the endoscopic frontal sinus surgery.

Objective To investigate the effect of exogenous hydrogen sulfide on myocardial NF-κB signaling pathway in rats with hemorrhagic shock (HS).Methods Forty adult male rats, weighing 250-300 g,were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =10 each):sham operation group (Sham group),sham operation + NaHS group (Sham + NaHS group),HS group and HS + NaHS group.HS was induced by withdrawing blood from the femoral artery. After HS,NaHS 28 μmol/kg was injected intraperitoneally at 10 min before resuscitation in groups HS + NaHS and Sham + NaHS.MAP was monitored and recorded at 0,1.5,2,3,4 and 6 h after blood-letting.The rats were then sacrificed and hearts were removed for determination of phosphorylated IKKβ (pIKKβ),IκBα (pIκBα),NF-κB p65 (pNF-κB p65) and high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) and for examination of myocardial ultrastructure with light and electron microscope. Results Compared with Sham and Sham + NaSH groups,MAP was significantly decreased and the expression of pIKKβ,pIκBα,pNF-κB p65 and HMGB1 was up-regulated in HS and HS + NaHS groups (P < 0.05).Compared with HS group,MAP was significantly increased and the expression of pIKKβ,pIκBα,pNF-κB p65 and HMGB1 was down-regulated in HS + NaHS group (P < 0.05).The pathologic changes were attenuated in HS + NaHS group compared with group HS.Conclusion Exogenous hydrogen sulfide can attenuate myocardial injury induced by HS through inhibition of NF-κB signaling pathway and reduction of inflammatory response.
