Objective:To investigate the contents of paranasal sinus CT reports about clinically pertinent lesions and anatomic variations in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and analyze the lesions and the anatomic variations less described in CT reports to improve the quality of paranasal sinus CT reports. Methods:A national questionnaire survey on radiologists interpreting paranasal sinus CT was conducted online in March, 2020. Questions were focused on the frequency of the lesions or anatomic variations of the paranasal sinuses described in paranasal sinus CT reports, and the results were analyzed and compared among radiologists by different levels of the hospital, professional titles, years of CT reading experience, subspecialties, and education backgrounds. Results:A total of 6 525 valid questionnaires were obtained, in which 97.7%, 97.7%, and 92.8% of radiologists described mucosal thickening, hypertrophy of turbinate or deviation of the nasal septum, and space occupying lesions within paranasal sinuses in CT reports, respectively. Only 35.0%, 26.9%, and 22.5% of radiologists described frontal recess lesions, dehiscence of foramen rotundum or pterygoid canal, and anterior/posterior ethmoid artery anatomy in CT reports, respectively. The anatomic variations that predisposed patients to major surgical complications or recurrent rhinosinusitis were more frequently documented in CT reports by radiologists with experience of head and neck radiology, senior titles or more than 30 years of radiological experience in tertiary hospitals than other radiologists. Conclusions:Lesions within the paranasal sinus were almost documented in all paranasal sinus CT reports. However, the anatomic variations that predisposed patients to major surgical complications or recurrent rhinosinusitis were infrequently described, which needs to be optimized by improving the quality of paranasal sinus CT reports.

1.6 kb ?4-desaturase gene(FAD4)was amplified by PCR using plasmid pGEM-TFAD4 as template. The fragment was subcloned into the HindⅢ/XbaⅠrestriction site of pYES2.0 vector.Recombinant plasmid pYFAD4 was transformed into Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain INVScl for expression. It was found to exhibit ?4-fatty acid desaturase activity in the recombinant S.cerevisiae YFAD4 in the presence of exogenous fatty acid substrate docosapentaenoic acid(100?mol/L)under introduction of GAL1.Expression of the FAD4 under appropriate media and temperature conditions led to the production of DHA and it reached 41.13% of the total yeast fatty acid by GC detection. It was suggested that the protein encoded by FAD4 could specifically catalyze DPA into DHA.

Objective To evaluate the pattern of energy metabolism and nutrients intake in patients with chronic viral hepatitis and posthepatitic cirrhosis to effectively direct their nutrition therapy. Methods Resting energy expenditure (REE) was measured with open-circuit indirect Jorimetry in 60 patients with chronic viral hepatitis and 60 patients with posthepatitic cirrhosis.Their normal basal energy expenditure (BEE) was predicted by Harris-Benedict equation and energy intake (EI) was determined by diet recall. Correlation between REE and indicators for nutrition assessment was analyzed. Results REE was (77? 21) kJ?kg~(-1)?d~(-1) in 60 patients with pusthepatitic cirrhosis, significantly lower than BEE[(95?16) kJ? kg~(-1)?d~(-1)(P0.05,and their EI was (127?34) kJ?kg~(-1)?d~(-1),1.41?0.43 times as REE,in which PROI was (1.02?0.29) g?kg~(-1)?d~(-1),1.31?0.61 times as PROE (0.87?0.34) g?kg~(-1)?d~(-1),also indicating a negative nitrogen balance (-2.02?4.07).REE,EI and intake of three nutrients, serum level of albumin and prealbumin (PA) and body weight significantly decreased in patients with posthepatitic cirrhosis,as compared to those in patients with chronic viral hepatitis (P

OBJECTIVETo investigate the collagen constitution of hyperplastic scar (HS) in different ages and the change of relative factors.
METHODSThirty cases with HS were divided into two groups according to patients' age: group 1 (1 - 19 years, A) and group 2 (20 - 50 years, B). The normal skin (NS) from corresponding age of volunteers was employed as control group. The changes in TGFbeta1, collagenase (MMP-1) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase (TIMP-1beta) and the collagen ratio were observed by means of in situ hybridization technique and SABC (Strept-Avidin-Biotin complex) immunohistochemistry and image analysis.
RESULTSThe ratio of type I to type III collagen in A group was 6.48 in average and 3.76 in B group, but there was no evident difference in the ratio during the disease process in both groups. The expression of TGFbeta1 in A group was much higher than that in B group (P < 0.01). The TIMP-1 mRNA expression showed no difference among all age groups in HS patients, but it was much higher than that in NS group. The MMP-1 expression was evidently lower than TIMP-1 expression, and there was no difference in MMP-1 expression compared with NS group.
CONCLUSION(1) The TGFbeta1 expression in HS patients was negatively correlated with age, and the increased expression of TGFbeta1 produced an increase ratio of type I to type III collagen. (2) High level expression of TIMP-1 led to the formation of HS by inhibiting MMP-1 expression, and the expression was not related to age.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Fn-TPO gene modification on human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs).
METHODSRetroviral vector containing Fn-TPO gene was constructed and bone marrow MSCs was modified by this vector. The transcription of Fn-TPO gene in MSCs was observed. The proliferation capacities, hematopoietic cells adhering capacities and TPO secretion capacities of gene modified MSCs were assayed respectively. Cord blood CD34 cells were seeded on the gene modified MSCs layers and several essential growth factors were added. After co-culturing in vitro for 7 days, the number of CD34 cells and their colony forming capacities were assayed by flow cytometry and semisolid culture assay.
RESULTSRetroviral vector containing Fn-TPO gene was successfully constructed and bone marrow MSCs were modified by this vector. Fn-TPO gene was expressed by bone marrow MSCs after gene modification. The viability of MSCs had no significant difference between pre- and post-gene-modification [(7.18 +/- 0.89) 10(4)/ml vs. (6.92 +/- 0.77) 10(4)/ml, P > 0.05]. The hematopoietic cells adhering ability of gene modified bone marrow MSCs was reinforced(0. 188 +/- 0.018 vs. 0.167 +/- 0.017, P < 0.01). The concentration of TPO in the MSCs culture supernatant raised from (5.58 +/- 0.37) ng/ml to (7.46 +/- 0.59) ng/ml (P < 0.01) and did not significantly decline in a short-time period, but influenced by the growth status of MSCs. After co-culturing with gene modified MSCs for 7 days, the absolute number of nucleated cells, the percentage of CD34+ cells and the colony numbers of BFU-E, CFU-GM, CFU-GEMM were (29.9 +/- 2.7) x 10(4), (33.3 +/- 2.8)% , 109.3 +/- 4.1, 163.7 +/- 7.1, 13.3 +/- 1.5, respectively, being significantly higher than that co-cultured with non-modified MSCs.
CONCLUSIONSFn-TPO gene modification can improve the capacity of human bone marrow MSCs for hematopoietic cells adhering, TPO secretion and cord blood CD34 cells amplification.

Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine 2006;40(1):50-52
OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between test anxiety and personality, self-esteem in grade one senior high school students.
METHODSTotally 538 senior high school students of grade one were investigated by Test Anxiety Scale (TAS), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) and Self-Esteem Scale (SES) in a Senior High School in Shandong Province.
RESULTSThe prevalence of test anxiety among all the surveyed students was rated 65.2%. The Psychoticism (P) (51.60 +/- 9.66) or Neuroticism (N) (51.57 +/- 10.75) factor score of EPQ in students with test anxiety was significantly higher than that in students without test anxiety (48.07 +/- 8.62, 45.65 +/- 10.14) (P < 0.001), while the Extroversion or Introversion (E) score (50.76 +/- 11.09) was on the contrary (53.68 +/- 11.60) (P < 0.01). The total score of TAS was significantly positively related to the P (r = 0.14) and N (r = 0.36) factor score and significantly negatively related to the E factor score of EPQ (r = -0.15) (P < 0.001). The prevalence of test anxiety in introversive students (72.3%) was higher than that in extroversive students (53.2%) (P < 0.05), and that in students with unstable emotion (81.4%) and in students with apparent psychoticism (84.1%) were also higher than that in those with stable emotion (41.0%) and in those without psychoticism (57.7%) (P < 0.01). The total score of SES in students with test anxiety (29.12 +/- 4.41) was significantly lower than that in students without test anxiety (30.29 +/- 4.25) (P < 0.01). The total score of TAS was significantly negatively related to the total score of SES (r = -0.23) (P < 0.001).
CONCLUSIONTest anxiety should be related to the personality and self-esteem, and the prevalence of test anxiety in introversive, unstable emotional, apparent psychoticism or low self-esteem students should be higher.
