Objective To investigate the signal transduction of bFGF to regulate the colorectal carci- noma cell growth via PI3K/PKB pathway. Methods MTT assay was used to determine the suppressive effect of bFGF on the growth rate of LoVo cell;(?-~(32)P)ATP incorporation assay was used to detect the increased activity of PKB in LoVo cell;the RT-PCR technique was used to test the expression of cyclin A;Western Blot analysis was used to detect the expressions of PKB and cyclin A protein. Results When the bFGF worked on the LoVo cell at various times,it was found that the PKB activity of the LoVo cell was increased by the(?-~(32)P) ATP incorporation assay.By preprocessing by the depressor-LY294002 and bFGF,the activity of PKB was sig- nificantly reduced(P
2.Antibiotic resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates from female patients
Chinese Journal of Infection and Chemotherapy 2006;0(04):-
Objective To investigate antibiotic resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae strains isolated from female patients. Methods:Antimicrobial susceptibility of N.gonorrhoeae to 7 antibiotics was tested by disk diffusion method and penicillinase- producing N.gonorrhea(PPNG)was confirmed by nitrocefin disk. Results:Of the 95 strains collected,38(40%)were found to be PPNG.No resistance to spectinomycin was identified. The susceptibility rate of these isolates to penicillin, tetracycline, and ciprofloxacin were much lower, only from 0% to 2.6%.More than 90% of the isolates were susceptible to cefuroxime, ceftriaxone, and ceftizoxime. Conclusions:Our study suggests that spectinomycin, cefuroxime, ceftriaxone, ceftizoxime are the first choice for treatment of gonorrhea in female patients.

OBJECTIVETo observe and evaluate the clinical effect of acupuncture at "Siguan" combined with the Gallbladder Meridian acupoints on migraine.
METHODSWith randomized controlled trial design, 87 patients were randomly divided into an observation group (42 cases) and a control group (45 cases). The observation group was treated with acupuncture at "Siguan" including Hegu (LI 4) and Taichong (LR 3), combined with the Gallbladder Meridian acupoints including Fengchi (GB 20), Shuaigu (GB 8), Qiuxu (GB 40) and Zulinqi (GB 41), while the control group was treated with acupuncture at the Gallbladder Meridian acupoints, including Fengchi (GB 20), Shuaigu (GB 8), Qiuxu (GB 40), Zulinqi (GB 41), Yanglingquan (GB 34) and Hanyan (GB 4). The treatment was given every other day in two groups, 3 times per week for totally 6 weeks. The migraine intensity, migraine frequency and lasting time of each migraine were observed before and after treatment, and 3-month follow-up was performed after treatment. The clinical efficacy in two groups was evaluated.
RESULTSCompared with those before treatment, the migraine intensity, frequency and lasting time were all reduced significantly after treatment in the two groups (all P<0.01), which were more obvious in the observation group (all P<0.05). At the end of the treatment, the total effective rate was 95.2% (40/42) in the observation group and 80.0% (36/45) in the control group, which had statistical difference (P<0.05). After 3-month follow-up, the total effective rate was 88.1% (37/42) in the observation group and 75.6% (34/45) in the control group, which had no statistical difference (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe "Siguan" combined with the Gallbladder Meridian acupoints could significantly relieve the migraine intensity, frequency and lasting time, and its improvement of symptoms and short-term efficacy are superior to those of the Gallbladder Meridian acupoints alone.

Herald of Medicine 2001;(1):47-48
Objective: To reveal if the use of antimicrobi als is rational in the authors hospital. Methods: 1 025 cases were investigated retrospectively by systematic sampling from all the inp atients of the year 1997. Results: 77.8% of the subjects were treated with antimicrobials, of whom, 55.2% treated with 2 or more antimicr obials. Yet only 39 cases had microbiological test before the administration of antimicrobials. Conclusion: Inappropriate use of antimicr obials exists in the hospital. The management of the use of antimicrobials and c ontinuing education of medical doctors should be enhanced so as to make the use of antimicrobials more rational.
5.RP-HPLC determination of valproate concentration in serum
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2006;0(08):-
Objective To establish an RP-HPLC method for determining serum level of valproate. Methods A symmetryshield RP18 column (5?m,3.9mm?150mm) was used. The mobile phase,methanol-water(80:20) was used at a flow rate of 1.0ml/min.The detector was Waters 2487 dual?absorbance detector, which was set at the wavelength of 248nm.Serum sample was extracted with 2ml acetic n-hexane,then valproic acid in organic layer was derived by adding into?-bromoacetophenone,and cyclohcxanecarboxyiic acid was selected as an internal stan- dard. Results The calibration curve was linear in the range of 5.0 to 250.0vtg/ml.The average recovery rate was 98.23%,and the RSD within-day and between-day were both less than 3 %.Conclusion This method is suitable for therapeutic drug monitoring of phenytoin.

Objective To study the relationship between bcl-2 , Fas and Fas ligand (FasL) and the role of them in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Method Flow cytometry was used. Results Apoptosis of peripheral lymphocytes was significantly increased in SLE patients than that of normal controls(P

SW872 preadipocytes were cultured and induced to differentiate by oleic acid in vitro. The levels of adiponectin and its receptors (AdipoR1 and AdipoR2) mRNA were measured by semiquantitative RT- PCR.The concentration of adiponectin in the culture medium was assayed by ELISA.The results showed that rhIL- 6 could inhibit adiponectin,AdipoR1 mRNA expressions and adiponectin secretion in SW872 adipocytes in a time- and dose-dependent manner, but did not influence adipoR2 mRNA expression.
