Traditionally regarded as a vitamin regulating calcium and phosphorus homeostasis, vitamin D is now discovered as a highly versatile molecule involved in immunity, cancer, infectious diseases, fibrosis, fatty liver diseases, and alcoholic liver diseases.In several studies, lower vitamin D status has been found to be associated with increased risk and unfavorable outcome of acute infections.This paper reviews the research progress of the roles played by vitamin D in various inflammatory diseases and its mechanisms.

Aim To investigate the effect of dipfluzine on hERG potassium currents expressed heterologously in xenopus oocytes.Methods Using Xenopus oocytes expression system,the current amplitude and kinetic characteristics of hERG were measured with the two electrode voltage-clamp technique before and after dipfluzine application.Results Dipfluzine(8 nmol?L-1~5 ?mol?L-1)concentration-dependently inhibited hERG currents;the concentration for half maximal inhibition(IC50)was 98.0 nmol?L-1.Dipfluzine-induced inhibition of hERG currents was voltage dependent at membrane potentials between-10 and 40 mV.Dipfluzine at 1 ?mol?L-1 didn't statistically shifted V1/2 of hERG currents activation.Dipfluzine at 1 ?mol?L-1 significantly decreased the activating time constants and the deactivating time constants,and enhanced hERG currents activation and deactivation.Conclusion Dipfluzine concentration-dependently inhibits hERG currents and modifies kinetic characteristics of hERG activation and deactivation,which may be correlated with its antiarrhythmic effect.

Objective To evaluate the effects of different storage periods at room temperature on domestic cisatracurium-induced neuromuscular (N-M) block.Methods One hundred and twenty ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients,aged 18-64 yr,scheduled for elective operations under general anesthesia,were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =40 each):cisatracurium stored for 60 days at 4-8 ℃ group (group LT),cisatracurium stored for 30 days at room temperature group (group RT30) and cisatracurium stored for 60 days at room temperature group (group RT60).Anesthesia was induced with iv injection of midazolam and target-controlled infusion of propofol (target plasma concentration 3 μg/ml) and remifentanil (target effect-site concentration 3-5 ng/ml).A bolus of cisatracurium 0.2 mg/kg was given intravenously over 5-10 s as soon as the patients lost consciousness.N-M block was monitored with TOF-Watch SX (Organon,Netherlands).Single stimulation was applied to the ulnar nerve at wrist.The maximal degree of N-M block,onset time,clinical duration,recovery index and 75 ％ recovery time were recorded.The patients were intubated and mechanically ventilated when N-M block reached the maximal degree.The intubation condition was evaluated.Hypotension,bradycardia and skin allergy were recoded.Results Compared with group LT,no significant change was found in the onset time,clinical duration,recovery index and 75％ recovery time in group RT30 (P ＞ 0.05),and the onset time was significantly prolonged,clinical duration and 75％ recovery time were shortened in group RT60 (P ＜ 0.05).The onset time was significantly longer and clinical duration was shorter in group RT60 than in group RT30 (P ＜ 0.05).The intubation condition was excellent or good in the three groups and there was no significant difference among the three groups.There was no significant difference in the incidence of hypotension and bradycardia among the three groups (P ＞ 0.05).No patients developed skin allergy.The maximal degree of N-M block was 100％ in groups LT,RT30 and RT60 except one case with 95％ in group RT60.Conclusion No significant change is found in the N-M block induced by domestic cistracurium when stored for 30 days at room temperature,however,the N-M block is significantly attenuated when stored for 60 days at room temperature.

Objective To analyze the risk factors,clinical characteristics,and missed factors of acute pulmonary embolism (APE) after surgery,so as to advise clinicians to improve understanding of the early postoperative APE and enhance prevention concepts.Methods Retrospectively analyzed the general information of 43 cases of surgical patients with APE after surgery categories,risk factors,clinical manifestations and prognosis.Results APE after surgery had obvious risk factors; often occurred within 2 weeks after surgery; commonly seen in malignant tumors (53.5％,23/43),orthopedics (27.9％,12/43) and other major surgery; clinical manifestations wasn't typical,of which chest distress and dyspnea was the most common symptom (93.0％,40/43),and other pestoperative symptoms were similar,easy to misdiagnosis.Conclusions Surgery is one of the important risk factors of APE.Preoperatively evaluating underlying diseases,postoperative strengthening preventional methods,early detection,early treatment,have great significance in reducing the occurrence of postoperative APE and improve the prognosis.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that regulate both mRNA and protein expression of target genes and play important roles in proliferation,differentiation,development and metabolism of cells.This paper reviews the research progress on miRNAs involvement in liver diseases,including viral hepatitis,fatty liver,drug induced liver disease,primary biliary cirrhosis and primary hepatocellular carcinoma.

Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of tenofovir (TDF) and entecavir (ETV) in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) .Methods Studies that compared the treatment efficacy and safety between TDF and ETV in CHB patients were searched through electronic databases before Mar 2015 .Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) normalization rate ,hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA suppression rate ,hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg ) seroconversion rate ,drug resistance rate and safety profile were reviewed .RevMan 5 .2 was used for analysis .Results A total of 13 studies met inclusion criteria and 1 934 patients were analyzed ,including 884 patients treated with TDF and 1 050 with ETV .The HBV DNA suppression rate of TDF was superior to ETV at week 48 (OR=1 .36 ,95% CI:1 .05 -1 .76 ,P=0 .02) .The ALT normalization rate of ETV was superior to TDF at week 24 (OR= 0 .68 ,95% CI:0 .48-0 .96 ,P= 0 .03) .The virological response at week 24 ,ALT normalization rate at week 48 and serological response at week 24 and 48 were not significantly different between patients treated with TDF and ETV (all P>0 .05) .The resistance rate was not significantly different between patients treated with TDF and ETV 24 months after treatment (P=0 .51) .And the safety profiles of these two drugs were similar (P>0 .05) .Conclusions TDF has better virological response compared with ETV .The drug resistance rate and safety profile are similar between TDF and ETV .

Objective To investigate the relations between microRNA-451 (miR-451) expression and gastric cancer (GC).Methods Expression of miR-451 in tumor and paired non-cancerous tissues was measured by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction.The association of miR-451 expression with clinical pathological characteristics and prognosis was statistically analyzed;in addition,slow virus LV-mir-451 was applied to infect human gastric cancer cell line BGC-823 and MKN-45,and construct miR-451 over-expressed stable cell lines.Finally,to detect cell proliferation,migration and invasion.Results miR-451 expression decreased in GC tissues vs.pericarcinous tissues (0.010 ± 0.007 vs.0.014 ± 0.008,t =3.015,P ＜ 0.05),and its down-regulation positively correlated with lymphatic metastasis,clinical staging and shorter overall survival.miR-451 expression in BGC-823 and MKN-45 cells did not impact on cell proliferation,but did reduce migration rates (0.863 ±0.026 vs.1.107 ±0.032,t =9.820,P＜0.05;0.863 ±0.026 vs.1.060±0.054,t =4.369,P＜0.05) and invasion rates (1.040 ± 0.055 vs.1.522 ± 0.001,t =5.84,P ＜ 0.05;1.040 ± 0.055 vs.1.696 ± 0.078,t =10.16,P ＜ 0.05) in BGC-823 cells.Conclusions miR-451 may act as a prognostic marker in GC.
