China Pharmacy 2001;0(08):-
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the use of antibiotics in patients undergoing hemorrhoidectomy in our hospital.METHODS:A total of 120 copies of discharge records of patients undergoing hemorrhoidectomy written by four doctors(30 copies/doctor) between Jan 2006 and Jun 2006 in proctology department were sampled and divided into four groups in accordance with different charging doctors, and a statistical analysis was carried out in respect of the drug consumption sum and medication data of these patients.RESULTS:The irrational use of antibiotics in patients undergoing hemorrhoidectomy in proctology department of our hospital manifested as unclear indications of medication, improper time of drug use,and the prolonged continuous drug use. There were significant differences among four groups in the average drug consumption sum(P

The change of gravity causes a series of physiological dysfunctions, such as redistribution of blood, destruction of skeleton, reduction of hemopoietic tissue and so on.Since the success of mission to the moon and construction of space station, the study on change of human physiological functions under microgravity has been underway. With the machine of microgravity developing maturely, associated researches have made big steps forward. However, intensive study on the changes of human hemostasis and thrombosis under the microgravity are still needed, especially in the area of high incidences of bleeding and thrombotic diseases. The result will help to prevent hemostasis and thrombosis on astronaut and promote the development of our national aerospace industry.

[Objective]To investigate the medium-term outcomes of surgical treatment of vertigo secondary to cervical spinal instability.[Method]From Oct.2000 to Jun.2006,28 patients underwent operation for vertigo secondary to cervical spinal instability and were followed prospectively. There were 21 females and 7 males with an average age of 42.5 years(rang,30 to 56 years). The involved levels included C3、4 in 12 cases,C4、5 in 8,combined C3、4 and C4、5 in 4,and combined C4、5 and C5、6 in 3.Surgical methods included anterior discectomy and fusion with interbody bone grafting and internal fixation with plate or fusion with cages.JOA score system was used for the evaluation of neurological function.[Result]All the patients were followed for 43 months(30 to 60 months).Satisfactory results were achieved in most of the patiens 3 months after surgery. At latest follow-up,complete relief of the preoperative complaints was obtained in 22 patients with incomplete relief in 4 and no obvious improvement in 2.Neurological function was improved from preoperative JOA 10.10 to postoperative JOA 14.90 with satistically significance.Adjacent unstable segments proximal to fuxion level were noted in three cases but with no recurrence of the preoperative symptoms.[Conclusion]For properly selected patients with vertigo secondary to unstable cervical spine, satisfactory medium-term clinical outcomes can be achieved appropriate surgical methods.

International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2010;33(2):121-124
Under the condition of microgravity, human body will experience a series of cardiovascular deconditioning. The vascular endothelial cells are the most important component of the vessel wall, so the changes of biological characteristics of vascular endothelial cells are directly related to cardiovascular deconditioning. Therefore, it is important to prevent and treat the cardiovascular deconditioning in astronauts by studying the effect of microgravity on biological characteristics of vascular endothelial cells.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(7):553-555
Schwann cells (SCs) have potently neuroprotective and myelinization abilities. They are one of the earliest and the most frequently used cells that are applied to therapeutic studies in spinal cord injury. At present, SCs are usually used as a platform for therapeutic alliance to integrate various interventions. This review will mainly discuss the issues met in therapeutic alliances with SCs for spinal cord injuries, results of various therapeutic alliances with SCs, positive effects of co-transplantation with SCs on neural stem cells, survival, migration of SCs after transplantation and roles of endogenetic SCs in repairing spinal cord injury.

Allergic reactions caused by traditional Chinese medicine injections (TCMIs) become a greatest concern in the clinic application safety. The integral animal evaluation method commonly used in the preclinical evaluation for allergic reactions of TCMIs was not sensitive, specific, quick and objective in observation indexes. Therefore, more researchers have paid attention to the in vitro test method for evaluating allergic reactions induced by TCMIs. Currently, the methods for evaluating allergic reactions induced by TCMIs are mainly targeted at type I allergic reaction and anaphylactic reaction, with only a few in vitro methods for evaluating type II allergic reaction. In this paper, researchers summarized relevant literatures published about evaluation methods for allergic reactions induced by TCMIs in recent years.

Objective To guide bracing treatment for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). Methods A total of 68 AIS patients with apex vertebrae (AV) under T6 had received the improved Cheneau bracing treatment between March 2008 and June 2010. All patients were divided into two groups. There were 16males and 35 females, with a mean age of 13.6 years (range, 10.6-17.2) in the intervention group. The mean Cobb angle was 29.5° (range, 20°-38°); Risser sign was 2-4; Vertebralrotation degree was 0-2 in the group;while there were 6 males and 11 females, with a mean of 13.2 years (range, 10.8-16.8) in the control group. The mean Cobb angle was 28.7° (range, 20°-37°); Risser sign was 2-4; Vertebralrotation degree was 0-2 in the control group. All patients in control group were informed standardized bracing treatment method. But we gave patients in intervention group two copies of "The Form of Guiding Bracing Treatment" treatment of patients with AIS, and informed that they carried out the bracing treatment according requirement of the form.Cobb angle was measured before the treatment and at 6th, 12th, 18th month after treatment. Results Sixtyfive cases were followed up for 18-27 months. However, one female in control group and two females in intervention group were lost during follow-up. Coefficient and intraclass correlation coefficient of form were both over 0.60. The acceptance rate of the table was 97.54%(199/204), qualified rate was 100.00%( 199/199), and with good content validity. The mean Cobb angle decreased gradually from 28.71° to 25.76° in control group and from 29.47° to 21.59° in intervention group. Four cases in control group and 34 cases in intervention group had reduced more than 5° at 18 months after treatment. There was significant difference regarding Cobb angle between two group. Conclusion The form of guiding bracing treatment has good reliability and validity and can guide bracing treatment of AIS correctly and effectively.

Objective To study the application of census method in estimating the size of population of commercial sex workers(CSW),and estimatie the size of population in CSW in a city. Methods Drawing the map of the place which applied sex service, collect the number of CSW which the manager of place report.Sample 20% place of total, check the amount of all CSW,then adjust the sum of managers reported according the number of investigator checked and the number of manager reported to estimating the size of population in CSW in the city. Results The result of census in estimating the CSW in the city was 18 702.Conclusions It is simple and direct to estimate the size of population in CSW by applying the census method. The result is reliable, but the method need the investigators know very well the palce applied sex service in the area.
