5. Expression of angiopoietin-related growth factor in obese patients and its significance
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2011;32(1):37-39
Objective: To investigate the expression of angiopoietin-related growth factor (AGF) in obese patients and its relationship with body mass index(BMI), waist circumference(WC), waist-hip ratio(WHR), blood glucose(FBG), plasma insulin(FINS) levels, and HOMA-insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR). Methods: Plasma AGF levels were assayed by ELISA in 40 patients with obesity and 40 normal controls. The relationship of AGF level with BMI, WC, WHR, HbA 1c, blood lipids, FBG, FINS, and HOMA-IR was also analyzed. Results: AGF levels in patients with obesity were significantly increased compared with that in the control group ([177.55±74.09] ng/ml vs [122.37±66.91] ng/ml, P<0.05). We also found that AGF level was positively correlated with Triglyceride(TG), FINS and HOMA-IR(r=0.325, P<0.05; r = 0.451, P<0.01; r = 0.483, P<0.01); and was negatively correlated with high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL, r= -0.529, P<0.01). Multiple regression analysis showed that HDL, BMI and FINS were the factors influencing AGF levels. Binomial Logistic regression analysis indicated that AGF level was positively correlated with obesity after adjusting sex, age, total cholesterol (TC), TG, HDL and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) (OR>1). Conclusion: The change of AGF level is associated with the metabolism disorder in obese patients, and it may also contribute to the pathogenesis of obesity.

ObjectiveTo determine the primary control factors of nucleotides metabolisms on insulin secretion.MethodsNMRI mice isolated islets were used to investigate the amount of insulin secretion and the changes of ATP,ADP,GTP,GDP and UTP in islets when the activity of K+ATP channel was eliminated by diazoxide.ResultsThe above assays demonstrated that insulin secretion increased with the rise of glucose concentration. In the same time, ratio of ATP/ADP,GTP/GDP and level of UTP increased, too. All three indexes correlated with the insulin secretion very well respectively, but only ratio of ATP/ADP can control insulin secretion directly in common influence.ConclusionOur findings suggest that there is the second control site in islets when glucose induces insulin secretion and ATP/ADP ratio is only key factor in this mechanism.

China Pharmacist 2014;(12):2100-2101
Objective:To compare the efficacy and adverse reactions of omeprazole and pantoprazole in the treatment of patients with peptic ulcer bleeding. Methods: Totally 362 cases of peptic ulcer bleeding were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 181 ones in each. The control group was treated by omeprazole 40mg in 0. 9% sodium chloride injection 100ml, ivd, bid, and the observation group was given pantoprazole 80mg in 0. 9% sodium chloride injection 100ml, ivd, bid. The treatment course was 3-6 days. The times of vomiting and melena, bleeding situation and bleeding stopping time in the two groups were observed and recorded, and the clinical efficacy, adverse drug reactions during the treatment and the expense of the two groups were also compared. Results:The bleeding amount on the first and third day in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0. 05), the average bleeding stopping time and the average times of black stools and vomiting in the observation group were also significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0. 05). The effective rate of the observation group was 92. 27%, that of the control group was 90. 61%, and the difference was not statistically significant (P >0. 05). The average daily cost of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P <0. 05). The difference in the incidence of adverse drug reactions of the two groups was not statistically significant (P > 0. 05). Conclusion:The efficacy of omeprazole and pantoprazole in the treatment of peptic ulcer bleeding was similar with high security. However, pantoprazole may reduce the times of vomiting and melena, shorten the bleeding time and decrease the treatment cost.

Effects of salviae miltiorrhizae (SM) and SOD on serum and tissue (liver, intestine) lipid peroxidation were studied on rabbits in reperfusion after hemor rhage shock. The results showed that both SM and SOD could effectively reduce the serum MDA,while the inhibitory effect of SM on tissue (intestine) lipid Peroxidation was more significant than that of SOD.90 min after shock,18 rabbits were equally divided into 3 groups, one third of shed blood was re-infused and simultaneously teperfused with balanced salt solution (BSS) (group A), SOD in BSS (group B) and SM in BSS (group C). After reperfusion, serum MDA increased significantly in group A, while serum in MDA in group B and C decreased gradually and was significantly lower than that of group A after reperfusion of 3 hr (I3). Intestine MDA in group C was evidently lower than that in group A (P
