Objective To explore the effects of curcumin on the expression of C-erbB-2, Survivin and Bax in prost cancer cell. Methods The effects of curcumin on the expression of C-erbB-2, Suevivin and Bax were observed by SP immnohistocherminstry and cell cultivate methods. Results The expression of Survivin and C-erbB-2 in contrast group were strong, but the expression of Bax was very weak. After the curcumin were incubated with culture medium for 6h, 12h, 24h, 48h, the expression of C-erbB-2 and Survivin were gradually decreased in DU145 cells, while the expression of Bax was increased and reached highest at the time point of 12 ～24h. Conclusion The curcumin can reduce the expression of C-erbB-2 and surviving, and increase expression of Bax. The curcumin may exert antitumor activity by interacting with DU145 cells.

【Objective】To observe the influence of hot-needle therapy and herbal medicine fuming-washing combined with western medicine for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).【Methods】One hundred and twenty-eight RA patients were equally randomized into two groups: group A received hot-needle therapy and herbal medicine fuming-washing combined with western medicine of meloxicam,salazosulfamide,and methotrexate,and group B was treated with western medicine only.The treatment lasted one month.Symptoms and signs of early morning stiffness time,grip strength,joints with tenderness count,tenderness index,auricular rest pain,swollen joints count,swelling index as well as the evaluation by the patients themselves and the doctors were observed before and after treatment.Meanwhile,the changes of rheumatoid factor(RF),C-reactive protein(CRP),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),the white blood cell(WBC) count and platelet(PLT) count were evaluated before and after treatment.【Results】The total effective rate in group A was 78.1%,which was superior to 53.1% in group B(P

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of MRCP in the determination of common bile duct (CBD) exploration in gallstone pancreatitis(GP). Methods The clinical data of the patients who underwent CBD exploration due to gallstone pancreatitis during two different periods were retrospectively reviewed. Between 1995 and 1999,46 patients with gallstone pancreatitis underwent CBD explorations based on the preoperative ultrasonographic examination of stones and dilatation of CBD . Between 2000 to 2002,the explorations were carried out in 30 patients based on MRCP findings. Results Negative exploration occurred in 28 patients (60.8%) during the first period and 7 patients (23.3%) during the second period. Pulmonary valve stenosis (PS) is a relatively common congenital heart disease,and there are 2 treatment methods of surgical operation and intervention.Percutaneous balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty (PBPV) was applied successfully in children with PS for the first time by Kan.For more than 30 years,with the update of intervention equipment,improvement of operation method and accumulation of clinical experience,the application of PBPV continuously has made new progress.Most of the previous reports of the PBPV were for the immediate and short-term efficacy,while long-term follow-up data and some special types of PS review research were less.Now,combined with PBPV clinical data and long-term follow-up study in recent years,an overview of the application progress of PBPV including indications,methods,curative effect and follow-up,prevention and cure of complications and some special type of PS are provided.

Objective The clinical effects of acupuncture and massaging abdomen with salt the treatment of simple obesity was observed. Methods: Eighty cases were randomized into two groups: treatment group in which 40 cases were treated by acupuncture and massaging abdomen with salt and control group in which another 40 cases were treated by conventional acupuncture. Their effects were observed and compared. Results: The clinical cure rate and marked effective rate in treatment group were significantly higher than in control group (P＜0.01). Conclusion: The clinical effects in the treatment group are much better than those in the control group.

Objective To assess effects of cerebral ischemic postconditioning(IPost)on neuronal apoptosis and phosphated glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β)after cerebral ischemic/reperfusion.Methods The experiment was conducted at the center for animal experiment of Renmin Hospital,Wuhan University.Thirty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups:sham operation(S),ischemic/reperfusion(I/R)and ischemic postconditioning(IPost).Each group contained ten rats.Global brain ischemia was produced with four-VO method.Animals were killed after two days.Apoptosis in neurons in the cortex region were detected by TUNEL assay; infarct areas were detected by TTC ; activity of p-GSK-3β was detected by spectrum assay; Statistical software SPSS13.0 was applicated to perform one-way ANOVA Student-Newman-Keul test; correlation was detected by linear regression.Results Compared with group S,TUNEL-positive cells and infarct areas increased(P ＜0.01),the activity of p-GSK-3β decreased in I/R and IPost groups(P ＜ 0.01).Compared with group I/R,TUNEL-positive cells and infarct areas significantly decreased(P ＜ 0.01),the activity of p-GSK-3β increased in group IPost(P ＜ 0.01).The activity of p-GSK-3β and TUNEL-positive cells had highly correlation,so as infarct areas(P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions IPost can lessen the ischemic/reperfusion injury of Cortex,through increas the activity of p-GSK-3[β and decreasing neuronal apoptosis.

BACKGROUND:Biliary complications after liver transplantation can cause liver graft dysfunction. Ultrasound examination is one of important diagnostic methods of biliary complications after liver transplantation.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the value of ultrasound in the diagnosis of biliary complications after liver transplantation.
METHODS:A total of 92 patients after liver transplantation, including 81 males, 11 females, aged 21-67 years;al ogenic orthotopic liver transplantation in 90 cases, partial living liver transplantation in 2 cases. Biliary reconstruction methods were end-to-end biliary anastomosis. Routine examination after liver transplantation and color Doppler ultrasound results were retrospectively analyzed. The inspection focused on whether common bile duct and intrahepatic bile duct had biliary leakage, biliary stenosis, biliary sludge or biliary calculus. Some patients underwent puncture and drainage under ultrasonographic guidance.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In al the 92 patients, 14 cases were diagnosed ultrasonical y as biliary complications, including 5 cases of biliary leakage, 4 cases of biliary stenosis (2 cases of stomal stenosis and 2 cases of non-stomal stenosis), 4 cases of biliary sludge, and 1 case of biliary calculus. This study demonstrated that ultrasound characteristics could be easily recognized in liver transplantation patients with biliary complications. Ultrasound has very important clinical value in diagnosis of the biliary complications after liver transplantation.
