1.Papers published in PLoS One by hospitals in China
Chinese Journal of Medical Library and Information Science 2016;(2):65-68
Objective To study the reasons why PLoS One has set off an upsurge in China especially in hospitals, the academic level of papers published in PLoS One, and how to correctly judge the SCI-covered papers published by hospitals. Methods Papers published in PLoS One by hospitals in China were retrieved. The number of papers published in PLoS One by hospitals in China, the institutions that published the papers in PLoS One, and the num-ber of fund-supported papers were analyzed. Results A total of 9739 papers were published in PLoS One by hospitals in China from 2007 to October 2015, with an average cited frequency of 5.29.The majority of authors who published the papers were from affiliated hospitals of scientific research institutions and teaching hospitals of colleges and uni-versities.Of the 9739 papers, 87.78%were supported by funds from different foundations. Conclusion Nothing is strike about the academic level of papers published in PLoS One by hospitals in China with their average cited fre-quency lower than that (8.14) in our country. The SCI-covered papers published by hospitals should not be con-sidered as the only criterion in assessing the performances of staff in hospitals.
2.Observations on the long-term effects of early Rehabilitation nursing in acute myocardial infarction in the elderly
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2002;8(6):373-374
3.Pulmonary surfactant-A and immune response in lung
International Journal of Pediatrics 2013;(3):240-242
Pulmonary surfactant is a complex mixture of lipids and surfactant proteins (SP) lining the alveolar surface. In addition to the well established ability of the surfactant system to reduce alveolar surface tension and thereby prevent collapse of the alveoli on expiration,it is also involved in pulmonary host defence.Surfacant protein-A (SP-A),one of the most abundant SP,can deal with various pathogens, using a range of innate immune mechanisms, and links innate immunity with adaptive immunity that includes modulation of dendritic cell function and helper T cell polarization.Surfactant-replacement or increasing SP-A generation might be efficacious for the treatment of inflammatory and infectious diseases in the lung.

5.Anticancer effect of crocin
Journal of International Oncology 2012;(12):910-912
Crocin is a chemical extraction from saffron and it is the most important kind of pigment of saffron.Recently, the research on cervical cancer, bladder cancer, leukemia, tongue squamous cell carcinoma, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer shows that crocin has a role in inducing apoptosis of the tumor cells by activating caspase-3,regulating the ratio of bcl-2/bax and repressing the expression of survivin.Crocin has a strong inhibitory effect on tumor proliferation by inducing cell cycle to arrest through down-regulating the expression of cyclin D1 and up-regulating the expression of p27kip1.Crocin can also exert antitumor effects by liposome encapsulation to enhance cytotoxic effect.Crocin is a kind of effective chemical for tumor treatment and prevention with no significant toxico-and by-effect in vivo, and is likely to be used as an anticancer drug clinically in the future.
6.Pediatric liver transplantation
Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2012;(6):504-506
Pediatric liver transplantation has long been developed in the western world.Currently, favorable outcomes after liver transplantation have been achieved in pediatric recipients and the postoperative 5-year survival rate reached 80% in western transplantation centers. In the mainland China, pediatric liver transplantation started quite recently and there is still a big gap compared with western centers. In addition, there is unbalanced development between adult and pediatric recipients due to surgical difficulties and undesirable outcomes following pediatric liver transplantation. The operation methods of pediatric liver transplantation include whole liver transplantation,reduced-size liver transplantation, living donor liver transplantation and split liver transplantation.Perioperative complications of pediatric liver transplantation mainly include portal vein thrombosis, hepatic artery thrombosis,intra-abdominal bleeding, infections, rejection, bile leakage and biliary strictures. While the long-term complications are infections,post-transplantation lymphoproliferative disorders, acute and chronic rejections caused by poor compliance with immunosuppressive therapy.Perioperative complications have been reduced recently thanks to improvement of surgical techniques. With the highly-prolonged survival period,long-term postoperative complications have been playing a significant role in recipients' survival rates.Management of long-term follow-up and compliance has been the next focus of pediatric liver transplantation.
7.DNA methylation in pancreatic carcinogenesis
Cancer Research and Clinic 2013;(2):133-135
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most malignant gastrointestinal tumors, characterized by a poor prognosis, absence of specific clinical symptoms and signs, prone to metastases and lack of response to conventional therapy.1 year survival rate of this disease increased to about 20 % by gemcitabine, but the morbidity and mortality rates are still higher and higher in the whole worldwide.DNA methylation is one of the mechanisms of epigenetics which is the study of heritable changes in gene expression that are not coded in the DNA sequence itself. It seems that DNA methylation indeed plays an important role in the development and progression of pancreatic cancer.
8.Progress of indicators in the diagnosis of neonatal sepsis
International Journal of Pediatrics 2013;(2):148-151
Newborns, especially premature newborns, because of immature of immune function, have high incidence of sepsis.Today sepsis is still an important cause of neonatal death and poor prognosis.Unfortunately, clinical signs of sepsis are non-specific,so early diagnosis and treatment of the newborn infant with suspected sepsis are essential to prevent severe complications.Blood culture is the gold standard for diagnosis of sepsis, but the positive rote is low.Indicators in diagnosis of sepsis included acute phase reaction proteins, cytokines, cell surface antigen and bacterial DNA testing. This article compares and analyzes the indicators in diagnosis of neonatal sepsis.

10.Kirschner wire and mini-plate fixation in repair of metacarpal and phalangeal fractures: hand function and adverse reactions
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;19(17):2741-2744
BACKGROUND:Kirschner wire fixation is the most extensive method to repair metacarpal and phalangeal fractures, but it has some disadvantages such as poor stability and many complications.Present studies suggest that surface rigidity, stability of fracture fragments and fracture healing of mini-plate were better than other fixation methods.Based on anatomical reduction,mini-plate fixation can firmly fix the bone, does not destroy articular surface,so it can restore hand function to the maximum extent.OBJECTIVE:To compare and analyze the therapeutic effects and adverse reactions of Kirschner wire and mini-plate fixation for repair of metacarpal and phalangeal fractures.METHODS:A total of 76 patients with metacarpal and phalangeal fractures, who accepted surgical treatment in Department of Orthopedics,Yixing No.2 People's Hospital from January 2011 to January 2014,were selected.Patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 38 cases in each group. The patients in the observation group (46 places) were treated by mini-plate fixation, while those in the control group (50 places) were fixed with Kirschner wire.Hand function was evaluated after treatment.Healing and complications were compared in both groups.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The excelent and good rate in the observation group was 91%(42/46),and 68%(34/50) in the control group, and the significant differences between the two groups were detected (P<0.05).Total active flexion degree, length of hospital stay and healing time were respectively (147.2±89.6)°,(5.1±2.1) days and (51.4±18.3) days in the observation group, and (132.4±35.3)°,(6.9±2.4) days and (65.5±23.8) days in the control group.Length of hospital stay and healing time were shorter, but total active flexion was greater in theobservation group than in the control group (P<0.05).Incidence of infection and delayed healing of bone were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05).Results suggest that compared with the Kirschner wire,mini-plate fixation for metacarpal and phalangeal fractures can obviously improve hand function, shorten length of hospital stay and healing time.It is safe and reliable, and is one of good clinical treatment options.
