Objective To investigate in knowledge rate of 120 first aid and satisfaction rate with emergency services among Nanchong citizens. Methods 360 patients who received prehospital first aid from three hospitals and their accompanies were selected from January to June 2010. The investigation content included knowledge rate of 120 first aid and satisfaction rate with emergency services. Results Results showed that about half of those surveyed still did not know the emergency phone"120" and its function, lacked self-help and self-protection knowledge, some respondents felt quite helpless upon daily life of electric shock, gas poisoning, coma and traumatic accidents. The attitude of the majority of emergency personnel was good or better, but still very stiff or irresponsible attitude existed in those few. This undermined the "120" and the image of credibility and emergency personnel. Conclusions There is an urgent need for universal coverage of on-site first aid knowledge and enhance awareness of first aid. Full-time staff in emergency department must pay close attention to the knowledge of first aid training, mastering the technique of bleeding control and bandaging, fixing, handling and CPR, as well as the use of instruments and equipment equipped in vehicles. Only in this way can we continuously improve the treatment of critically ill patients and increase survival rate.

Objective:
To provide longitudinal evidence for interventions in suicidal behavior among college students, this study explored the mechanisms underlying the relationship between cyberbully.
Methods:
Based on the general strain theory, 558 college students from Beijing and Xi an were followed up 2 times(T1 and T2) by using the Cyberbullying Questionnaire, Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation and Center for Epidemiological Survey Depression Scale(CES-D).
Results:
T1 cyberbully could positively predict depression and suicidal ideation among college students at T2( β =0.06, 0.15, P <0.01), and depression at T1 could positively predict suicidal ideation among college students at T2( β =0.29, P <0.01). The mediation effect revealed that depression at T1 could mediate the relationship between cyberbully and suicidal ideation. Compared to boys, girls were likely to be affected by cyberbully and resulted in depression and suicidal ideation.
Conclusion
Findings contribute to the prespective causal relation between cyberbullying and suicidal ideation among college students and provide the longitudinal evidence for intervention of suicidal ideation.

Objective To research the protective effect of Ento-Ⅰagainst cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats, and to evaluate its analgesic and anticoagulating effects in mice. Methods The ischemic model was established with line embolism to block the middle cerebral artery of male rats. The 56 rats were randomly assigned into 7 groups of sham-operation,blank-matrix,nor?
mal saline,Ento-Ⅰplastic of 3 doses(6.67,3.33,1.67 mg/kg),and ozagrel sodium(8.3 mg/kg,ip). The effect of Ento-Ⅰplastic on anti-cerebral ischemia was measured by nervous function scores and the areas of cerebral infarction were determined by TTC staining for the calculation of cerebral infarction rates. The analgesic effect of Ento-Ⅰplastic was determined with acetic acid-induced twisting experiment. Sixty KM mice were randomly allocated into blank-matrix,aspirin,aspirin-plastic,and Ento-Ⅰplastic of 3 doses(5,10 and 20 mg/kg),the number of mouse twisting were recorded right after intraperitoneal injection of 0.7%acetic acid solution at the time of 1 h after the last administration. Moreover, the anticoagulant activity of Ento-Ⅰplastic was tested by glass capillary method. Re?sults The results of acetic acid-induced twisting experiment displayed that Ento-Ⅰplastic of all 3 dose groups(5,10 and 20 mg/kg) could significantly reduce the number of body torsion and increase the inhibitory rates of twisting, compared with that of blank matrix group(the inhibitory rates of twisting for 3 dose groups were 21.79%,48.89%,and 56.15%,respectively),with dose-response man?ner. According to the results of glass capillary test, the clotting time of mouse blood could be significantly prolonged by mid-(10 mg/kg)and low-dose(5 mg/kg)of Ento-Ⅰplastic with corresponding clotting time of(155.20±54.19)s and(155.80±73.84)s,compared with normal saline group at(92.10 ± 24.61)and blank-matrix group at(80.40 ± 48.09,P<0.05). The experiment results of the isch?emia-reperfusion injury by line embolism method in rats exhibited that Ento-Ⅰplastic in mid-dose(3.33 mg/kg)could significantly re?duce the neurological scores after 24 h of reperfusion injury,from(2.33 ± 0.52)of normal saline group to(1.00 ± 0.00)of mid-dose group(P<0.01). The results from TTC staining revealed that the cerebral infarction rates of normal saline group and blank-matrix group were(24.89±7.24)%and(27.72±7.89)%,respectively,whereas those of 6.67 mg/kg and 3.33 mg/kg group of Ento-Ⅰplastic were(14.01±2.65)%and(14.73±4.94)%,respectively. Compared to the 2 negative-control groups, both the high-and mid-dose of Ento-Ⅰplastic could significantly reduce the cerebral infarction rates after ischemic reperfusion injury in rats (P<0.01). Conclu?sion Ento-Ⅰplastic demonstrates strong analgesic and anticoagulant effects, and could substantially reduce the neurological scores and reduce cerebral infarction rates for ischemia-reperfusion injured rats. These are likely to be the mechanism of action for Ento-Ⅰplastic realizing its anti-cerebral ischemia effect.

Objective To investigate the clinical features and electron transfer flavoprotein dehydrogenase (ETFDH) gene mutations in 35 Chinese patients with lipid storage myopathy. Methods The clinical data of 35 cases with lipid storage myopathy confirmed by muscle biopsy were collected. The sequences of all 13 exons of ETFDH were analyzed. Results All 35 patients showed proximal weakness. Ten of them demonstrated masseter weakness and 28 of them showed weakness in neck flexion. Twenty-nine of 32 patients who were followed up showed improvement after treatment with VitB2 and CoQ10. Mutations of ETFDH were found in 30 of 35 patients, which included 8 homozygosises,20 compound heterozygosises and 2 single heterozygosises. Fourteen novel mutations were found, including 9 missense mutations ( c. 3G > C, c. 152G>A, c. 191G > A, c.349G>C, c.433G>C, c. 949C > A, c. 1454C > G, c. 1744A >T and c. 1763A>G), 1 nonsense mutation(c. 172G>T), 2 deletions(c. 1282_1283del and 1773_1774del) and 2 splice mutations (c. 405 + 1G > T and c. 1691 -3C > G). Nine of them showed c. 250G > A mutation and 6 of them showed c. 770A > G mutation. Conclusions Lipid storage myopathy is presented as proximal weakness. Multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency caused by mutations of ETFDH is the major cause of lipid storage disease in this group. ETFDH c. 250G > A and c. 770A > G mutations show a high frequency.

BACKGROUND: Ultraviolet light (UVA) has a close relationship with photoaging, and mitochondrial damage is a basis of coil senescence and death.OBJECTIVE: To explore the influence of UVA on the mitochondrial deoxyribonucleic acid of human skin fibroblasts, in addition, to discuss whether transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) could relieve mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) deletion. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: The experiment was performed at Department of Plastic Surgery, the First Affiliated Hospital of Fourth Military Medical University from March 2007 to April 2008.MATERIALS: TGF-β1 was purchased from PerProtech Company; rnitochondrial DNA 4 977 bp primer was synthesized by Shanghai Sangon Biological Engineering Technology & Services Co., Ltd; UVA light was produced by Beijing Optical Instruments Factory; and the ultraviolet radiation meter was provided by Photoelectric Instrument Factory of Beijing Normal University.METHODS: Young adult's fibroblasts were obtained from 12 cases with posthectomy. Then the cells were divided into control,UVA irradiation (30, 60, 90 J/cm~2) groups. The mitochondrial DNA 4 977 bp deletion was detected by semi-quantitative PCR. After that, TGF-β1 with different doses (0.1, 1, 10 βg/L) were used to interfere the cells with UVA 90 J/cm~2 irradiation.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: DNA 4 977 bp deletion under different doses cumulative irradiation, as well as the effect of TGF-β1 on mtDNA 4 977bp deletion after irradiates UVA90 J/cm~2 were observed.RESULTS: Mitochondrial DNA 4 977 bp had deleted when irradiated with cumulative dose of 60 J/cm~2 UVA, the deletion was aggravated when the UVA dose arrived at 90 J/cm~2, The absorbance value, PCR electrophoresis and band scanning showed that the deletion of mitochondrial DNA 4 977 bp was reduced after adding TGF-β1 at 2 hours prior to irritation in the large dose (10 μg/L) group. However, the difference between the medium and small dose groups had no obviously significance.CONCLUSION: A certain dose of TGF-β1 (10 μg/L) has protective effect on mtDNA 4 977 bp deletion.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the protective effect of soyasaponins on acute liver injury induced by D-galactosamine (GalN) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in mice.
METHODThe mice were randomly divided into five groups: the normal control, the model group, the silymarin (positive control) group, and soyasaponins high and low-dose groups. They were administered with drugs once every day for 7 days. At the end of the experiment, GalN and LPS were injected intraperitoneally to all of the groups except for the normal group to establish the acute liver injury model. The pathological changes were detected with hematoxylin & eosin (HE) staining, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) was detected by ELISA method, and the alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), glutathione S-transferase (GST), reduced glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), nitric oxide (NO), and the activation of Caspase-3 and Caspase-8 were detected by the colorimetric method.
RESULTSoyasaponins could reduce the activities of serum ALT and AST, the acute hepatic injury induced by GalN/LPS, serum TNF-alpha level, hepatic NO and MDA contents, and the Caspase-3 and Caspase-8 activations of liver tissues, and increase the hepatic CAT, GPx, GST and GSH levels.
CONCLUSIONSoyasaponins shows the protective effect on acute liver injury induced by GalN and LPS in mice, which may be related to its antioxidative ability and anti-liver apoptosis.
