Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(10):-
AIM:To set up the quality standard for Fuyang Jiedu Granules(Radix Sutellariae,Herba Scute-(llariae) Barbatae,Herba Epimedii,etc.). METHODS: Radix Scutellariae,Herba Scutellariae Barbatae and Herba Epimedii in preparation were identified by TLC.The content of baicalin was determined by HPLC on Agilent Eclipse XBD-C_(18) column. The mobile phase was methanol-phosphoric-water(47∶53∶0.2).The detection wavelength was at 280 nm. A Shim-pack VP-ODS column was used to determine icariin. The mobile phase consisted of 0.32% phosphoric acid-acetonitrile(75∶25).The detection wavelength was 270 nm. RESULTS: The spot on the thin layer plate was clear. The negative contral was not disturbed. The linear range of baicalin was in the range 0.122 12 ?g to 0.606 ?g.The average recovery was 99.59% with RSD of 2.16%.The linearity range of icariin was in the range 0.201 6 ?g-1.008 ?g.The average recovery was 99.49% with RSD of 1.31%.(CONCLUSION:) The methods are specific, simple, fast and accurate, and can be used for quality control of Fuyang Jiedu Granules.

National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(4):325-329
OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect and safety of extracorporeal shock wave (ESW) in the treatment of pain symptom of type III B prostatitis.
METHODSWe treated 50 cases of type III B prostatitis by ESW once a week for 4 weeks. Then we evaluated the clinical effect and safety of the therapy based on the NIH-CPSI scores, visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, IIEF-5 scores, prostate volume and morphous, state of urination, color of urine, results of routine semen analysis, and changes of cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α and IL-1β) in expressed prostatic secretion (EPS).
RESULTSAll the patients successfully accomplished the treatment. Compared with the baseline, decreases were observed after 4 weeks of cytokine treatment in the pain scores (14. 61 ± 1. 82 vs 9. 36 ± 1. 47, P <0. 01), urination symptom scores (4. 59 ± 1. 01 vs.4. 66 ± 0. 89, P >0. 05) , quality of life scores (6. 51 ± 1. 03 vs 4. 56 ± 1. 02, P <0. 01), NIH-CPSI (25. 43 ± 1. 72 vs 18. 28 ± 2. 32, P <0. 01 ), and VAS (6. 59 ± 1. 10 vs 3. 02 ± 1. 07, P < 0. 01). The concentration of IL-6 in the EPS was significantly increased ([55.82 ± 6. 28] vs [86.59 ± 4. 55] ng/ml, P <0. 01) , while the level of TNF-α ([3.89 ± 0. 12] vs [3. 19 ± 0.22] ng/ml, P<0.01) and that of IL-1β ([3.21 ± 1.01] vs [1.48 ± 0.95] ng/ml, P< 0. 01) remarkably reduced after treatment. However, there were no statistically significant differences in IIEF-5 scores (18. 58 ± 2. 03 vs 18. 51 1. 89, P >0. 05) or various sperm parameters before and after treatment (P >0. 05). And no significant changes were observed in the prostate volume, morphous or internal echoes.
CONCLUSIONThe ESW therapy is effective and safe for the pain symptom of type III B prostatitis.

Objective:To investigate the differences in related indices of ulcerative colitis (UC) respectively induced by free drinking and intragastric administration of dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) in mice to provide experimental reference for the optimization of UC model. Methods:Totally 30 C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into the normal control group, free drinking group and intragastric administration group with 10 ones in each. The mice drank water freely with free drinking or intragastric administration of 3% DSS solution at the dose of 4 g·kg-1·day-1 for 7 days to establish the UC model. The differences in disease activity index (DAI),histological damage sore and activity of myeloperoxidase (MPO) among the groups were compared. Results:Two mice died during the experiment in the free drinking group, and DAI of survival mice was (8.8±1.6).There was no death of mice in intragastric administration group, and DAI was (9.0±0.8),and there was no significant difference in DAI between the groups (P>0.05),while the coefficient of variation in the free drinking group was higher than that in the intragastric administration group (18.7 vs 8.6).The colonic histological damage score of the free drinking group and the intragastric administration group was 24.8±4.2 and 27.0±2.8,respectively,which was typical inflammatory change with no significant difference (P>0.05),while the coefficient of variation of the free drinking group was higher than that of the intragastric administration group (16.9 vs 10.4).MPO of the normal control group, free drinking group and intragastric administration group was (0.41±0.03),(2.32±0.34) and (2.05±0.18) U·g-1,respectively.Compared with the normal control group, significant difference in MPO was shown in the free drinking group and the intragastric administration group (P<0.01),while there was no significant difference in MPO between the groups (P>0.05),and the coefficient of variation in the free drinking group was higher than that in the intragastric administration group (14.7 vs 8.8).Conclusion:Both free drinking and intragastric administration of DSS can successfully induce the UC model in mice.Compared with the free drinking group, the intragastric administration group has low mortality rate and low coefficient of variation. Therefore, intragastric administration has more advantages than free drinking in inducing the UC model in mice.

Progress in Modern Biomedicine 2017;17(24):4790-4793
The vast majority of vertebral compression fractures are caused by osteoporosis and vertebral tumor, which lead to the pain of a fracture and intervertebral height lost.In recent 20 years, the use of percutaneous vertebroplasty and percutaneous kyphoplasty,a kind of minimally invasive surgery method intended for the vertebral compression fractures, are rising up for patients with vertebral compression fractures, which can quickly relieve patients' pain and restore injured vertebral deformities.Percutaneous vertebroplasty injects bone cement into fractures through a small incision. However, percutaneous kyphoplasty injects a balloon into a fracture to make a cavity by expending and shrinking, which is filled with filler material, and then removes the balloon, and injects bone cement. This article mainly reviews development, curative effect and safety, clinical application and future aspects.of the percutaneous vertebroplasty and percutaneous kyphoplasty.

Chinese Journal of Disease Control & Prevention 2017;21(9):900-903
Objective To screen college students contacts of tuberculosis index cases among colleges located in Haidian District,Beijing,so as to provide evidence for the modification of screening strategies for college students.Method The purified protein derivative test (PPD) and chest X-ray examination were carried out in colleges, located in Haidian District from March 2015 to March 2016.The basic demographic characteristics, tuberculosis infection and detection of patients, etc were analyzed. Results A total of 88 cases of tuberculosis index cases were diagnosed, and 3 604 college students contacts were detected 16 pulmonary tuberculosis cases were detected among close contacts, and all patients were negative, the detection rate was 443.95/100 000.Among the 3 604 close contacts, the positive rate of PPD was 8.32%.With the increase of the diameter of the PPD reaction, the detection rate of tuberculosis patients increased significantly (xtrend =8.06,P <0.001).During the period of outbreak, the PPD positive rate and the detection rate of patients were significantly higher than that of non-outbreak period, and the difference was statistically significant(all P <0.05).Conclusions It is necessary to strengthen the screening of tuberculosis among college students, and to find out the infected persons and patients as early as possible,so as to prevent the outbreak of tuberculosis.
