Objective To observe effects of rhubarb extract on Ca dissolved quantity in demineralized enmnel. Methods Demineralization was performed after treating tooth facing with rhubarb extract of different concentrations and deionized water. The concentration of Ca was detected by ASCA biochemical analyzer after demineralization. Results Dissolved quantity of demineralized Ca in the rhubarb extract group (2 mg/ml, 4mg/ml) was significantly lower than that of the deionized water group (P<0.01) and the rhubarb extract group (1 mg/ml) (P<0.05), but higher than that of 2% sodium fluoride group (P>0.05). Dissolved quantity of demineralized Ca in the rhubarb extract (1 mg/ml) group was significantly higher thanthat of 2% sodium fluoride group (P<0.01), but lower than that of the deionized water group(P>0.05).Conclusion The rhubarb exwact (2mg/ml, 4mg/ml) can inhibit Ca dissolution in demineralized enamel. The inidal effective concentration of rhubarb extract is 2 mg/ml.

Objective To evaluate operative efficacy in regional pancreaticoduodenectomy with mesenteric-portal vein resection and graft reconstruction using iuternal jugular vein for pancreatic head carcinoma. Methods From Jan 2000 to Jan 2003,6 patients with pancreatic head tumors and mesenteric- portal vein involvement underwent regional pancreatieoduodenectomy with mesenteric-portal vein reseetion and vascular reconstruction using internal jugular vein. Results Surgery was successful in all 6 patients. Postoperative pathology revealed that mesenteric vein or portal vein were invaded by tumor in all cases. Survival time ranged from 17 to 49 mouths. The median survival was 23.4 months. Two cases have survived over 3 years and one of them was alive 49 months postoperatively without recurrence. Conclusion The regional pancreaticoduodenectomy with tumor invaded mesenteric-portal vein resection and graft reconstruction by using internal jugular vein renders a longer survival in metastasis-negative patients of pancreatic head adenocarcinoma.

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effect of melatonin on the proliferation activity of murine foregastic carcinomac ( MFC) cells via melatonin membrane receptors MT 2 and its relationship with the signaling pathways of mitogen-activated protein kinases ( MAPKs), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase ( PI3K)-Akt.Methods Using siRNA technology to silence MT2 expression, we examined the ability of melatonin to inhibit the proliferation activity of MFC cells and its influence on the phosphorylation of ERK 1/2 and Akt.Results We found two interesting effects of SiRNA-mediated silencing of MT2 expression.Firstly, it significantly antagonized the inhibitory effect of melatonin on the proliferation activity of MFC cells .Secondly , it partially blocked the inhibitory effect of melatonin on the phosphorylation of ERK 1/2 and Akt.Conclusion Our results suggest that melatonin can inhibit the phosphorylation of ERK 1/2 and Akt via MT2 receptors , thereby inhibiting the proliferation of gastric cancer cells .

AlM: To explore the clinical significances and changes of related parameters of corneal endothelial cell in keratouveitis patients before and after treatment.
METHODS:Fifty-two keratouveitis patients ( 52 eyes ) diagnosed and treated in our hospital from October 2012 to December 2013 were collected. Before and after treatment, the related parameters of corneal endothelial cell in all patients were measured with non - contact corneal specular microscope and these parameters were statistically analyzed.
RESULTS: Compared with the normal group, obvious endothelial cell edema and great variation was observed in diseased group. The shorter duration of treatment, the better the recovery of endothelial cells and the fewer cells lose. Conversely, the longer the healing of normal hexagonal cell ratio was smaller, the larger the coefficient of variation. Before and after treatment, the differences of each parameter were statistical significance (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSlON: The functional recovery of corneal endothelial cell has directly relation with disease times.

Objective To study the inhibition effects of antibacterial proteins from Musca domestica larvae on JEC and A375 tumour cells. Methods Antibacterial proteins with concentrations of 0.02%,0.1%,0.5%,2.5% and 12.5% were supplied in the culture of JEC and A375 tumour cells in vitro. The cell cycles and apoptosis of JEC and A375 tumour cells were detected by flow cytometry, and the apoptosis index(AI) was measured. The morphology of apoptotic cells was observed with HE stainings and AO staining. The culture without antibacterial proteins was served as control. ResultsThe ratio of apoptosis index/proliferation index(AI/PI) of JEC cells increased with the concentration of antibacterial proteins. The PI and apoptosis rate of 2.5% antibacterial proteins group and 12.5% antibacterial proteins group significantly increased, and G0/G1 significantly decreased. For A375 cells, there were significant differences in G2/M, S,G0/G1,G2/M,AI/PI and PI between 12.5% antibacterial proteins group and control group(P

AIM: To screen TIGR/myocilin gene (MYOC) mutation in high myopic Chinese children with family history.METHODS: Gene sequencing was performed in exon 3 of the TIGR gene in high myopic Chinese Children. The coding sequence of TIGR exon 3 was screened by capillary electrophoresis sequencing. The sequence alterations were analyzed by bioinformatics.RESULTS: TIGR gene mutation was not found in high myopic patients and normal controls group.CONCLUSION: No identified gene mutation is found in TIGR gene in high myopic Chinese children.

The application of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) in the treatment of cirrhotic portal hypertension has been widely accepted both at home and abroad. This article focuses on the fatal complications of TIPS (including intraperitoneal bleeding and acute pulmonary embolism), shunt failure, and recurrent portosystemic hepatic encephalopathy, and elaborates on the reasons for such conditions and related preventive measures, in order to improve the accuracy and safety of intraoperative puncture, reduce common complications such as shunt failure and hepatic encephalopathy, and improve the clinical effect of TIPS in the treatment of cirrhotic portal hypertension.
10.Clinical Efficacy of Zhibitai Capsule in Treating Patients of Dyslipidemia with Phlegm-stasis Binding Pattern
Chinese Journal of Experimental Traditional Medical Formulae 2020;26(16):137-141
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Zhibitai capsule in the treatment of dyslipidemia with phlegm-stasis binding pattern, in order to evaluate its effectiveness and safety. Method:Totally 82 patients of dyslipidemia with phlegm-stasis binding pattern were selected from the outpatient department of internal medicine in Hospital of Xidian University from July 2018 to July 2019. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group, with41 cases in each group. Control group was treated with aAtorvastatin calcium, and observation group was treated with Zhibitai capsules. The changes in blood lipid index, liver function and renal function were measured before and after 8-week treatment in two groups, the efficacy on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes and clinical symptom scores before and after treatment were compared between two groups, and the adverse reactions, such as liver pain and muscle pain, were recorded among patients. Result:The changes of blood lipids were compared after 8 weeks of treatment, total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were all lower than before, while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was increased
