urpose To investigate apoptosis in vitrectomy specimens of proliferative vitreoretinopathy. Methods Vitrectomy specimens from 60 cases of different classes of proliferative vitreoretinopathy were studied by TdTmediated dUTP nick end labelling(TUNEL)method. Results The characteristic change of apoptosis was observed in all vitrectomy specimens. The amount of apoptotic nonpigmentary cell is gradually decreasing along with the development of proliferative vitreoretinopathy, and apoptotic pigmentary cells are observed. Conclusion There are different kinds of apoptosis cell in vitrectomy specimens of proliferative vitreoretinopathy. It is suggested that apoptosis might be one of the important mechanisms of regulating the degree in proliferative vitreoretinopathy.

Objective To research the serum urea nitrogen (BUN),creatinine (Cr),urinary inhibition C (CysC) and retinol binding protein (RBP) four biochemical indicators of joint detection on the early diagnostic value of lupus nephritis (LN).Methods According to the American Rheumatology Association (ACR) 2012 revision of the diagnostic criteria, collected 177 LN patients with kidney disease from January 2011 to April 2016 in Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital,at the same time, choose 167 cases of healthy physical examination as normal control group. With Hitachi 7170A a fully automated analy zer on two groups of serum BUN,Cr,CysC and concentration of RBP for testing, the data obtained by SPSS17.0 statistical software for statistical analysis. Results LN patient group compared with healthy controls, the serum BUN (6.67 ± 1.43 mmol/L vs 6.57±1.16 mmol/L),Cr (96.9±10.1 μmol/L vs 92.6±13.2 μmol/L),CysC (1.7±0.5 mg/L vs 0.75±0.15 mg/L),RBP (180.5±8.28 mg/L vs 42.6±9.6 mg/L) concentrations were higher, and serum CysC,RBP higher level com pared with healthy control group difference was statistically significant (t=8.145,21.594,all P<0.05).Single parameter detected abnormal rate in terms of LN patients serum BUN,Cr,CysC and RBP abnormal rates were 28.3%,29.4%,68.4 %,65.0 %,four indicators combined detection of abnormal rate was 85.3 %,significantly higher than the single parameter test (x2 =35.973~168.742,all P<0.01).Conclusion Conbined detection of BUN,Cr,CysC and RBP four early diagnosis of renal damage in patients with lupus nephritis had important clinical value.

National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(4):325-329
OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect and safety of extracorporeal shock wave (ESW) in the treatment of pain symptom of type III B prostatitis.
METHODSWe treated 50 cases of type III B prostatitis by ESW once a week for 4 weeks. Then we evaluated the clinical effect and safety of the therapy based on the NIH-CPSI scores, visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, IIEF-5 scores, prostate volume and morphous, state of urination, color of urine, results of routine semen analysis, and changes of cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α and IL-1β) in expressed prostatic secretion (EPS).
RESULTSAll the patients successfully accomplished the treatment. Compared with the baseline, decreases were observed after 4 weeks of cytokine treatment in the pain scores (14. 61 ± 1. 82 vs 9. 36 ± 1. 47, P <0. 01), urination symptom scores (4. 59 ± 1. 01 vs.4. 66 ± 0. 89, P >0. 05) , quality of life scores (6. 51 ± 1. 03 vs 4. 56 ± 1. 02, P <0. 01), NIH-CPSI (25. 43 ± 1. 72 vs 18. 28 ± 2. 32, P <0. 01 ), and VAS (6. 59 ± 1. 10 vs 3. 02 ± 1. 07, P < 0. 01). The concentration of IL-6 in the EPS was significantly increased ([55.82 ± 6. 28] vs [86.59 ± 4. 55] ng/ml, P <0. 01) , while the level of TNF-α ([3.89 ± 0. 12] vs [3. 19 ± 0.22] ng/ml, P<0.01) and that of IL-1β ([3.21 ± 1.01] vs [1.48 ± 0.95] ng/ml, P< 0. 01) remarkably reduced after treatment. However, there were no statistically significant differences in IIEF-5 scores (18. 58 ± 2. 03 vs 18. 51 1. 89, P >0. 05) or various sperm parameters before and after treatment (P >0. 05). And no significant changes were observed in the prostate volume, morphous or internal echoes.
CONCLUSIONThe ESW therapy is effective and safe for the pain symptom of type III B prostatitis.
