OBJECTIVETo investigate the incidence of depression and its etiological factors in patients with cryptorchidism 6-16 years after surgical treatment.

METHODSUsing Self-Rating Depression Scale and Correlation Factor Questionnaire, we investigated the incidence of depression symptoms among 70 patients with cryptorchidism 6-16 years after surgical treatment and another 70 healthy males as controls, and analyzed the related factors of depression symptoms.

RESULTSThe incidence rate of depression symptoms was 50% in the cryptorchidism patients postoperatively, extremely significantly higher than 4.3% in the control group (χ2 = 23.5, P <0.01). Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the main risk factors of depression symptoms were worries about natural fertility (F = 15.8992, P <0.01), dissatisfaction with scrotal appearance (F = 4.6003, P <0.05), and the status of being married (F = 4.1002, P <0.05).

CONCLUSIONSymptoms of depression often occur in cryptorchidism patients after operation, and the major etiological factors are infertility, dissatisfaction with scrotal appearance, and the status of being married.

Objective To investigate the effects of desflurane on the delayed rectifier potassium current (Ik ) in acutely dissociated rat parietal cortical neurons. Methods Wistar rats between 10- and 14-day old of both sexes were used. The parietal cortical neurons were acutely dissociated enzymatically. The extracellular fluid saturated with 0.3,0.6 and 0.9 mmol/L desflurane was added to the culture dish, then the effects of different concentrations of desflurane on Ik were investigated by using the whole-cell patch-clamp technique in acutely dissociated rat parietal cortical neurons. Results IK was inhibited by desflurane in a concentration-dependent manner ( P ＜0.01). The V1/2 of the activation and inactivation curves and the slop factor had no change after giving 0.6 mmol/L desflurane (P ＞ 0.05). Conclusion Desflurane inhibits delayed rectifier potassium channels of parietal cortical neurons of rats in a concentration-dependent manner, and has no effect on the activation and inactivation of delayed rectifier potassium channels, indicating that the change in the excitability of the channel is not involved in the mechanism of inhibitory effect of desflurane, and the other reasons may be involved in the mechanism.

This paper is to test the physical precision of SGS-I?-knife treatment system. The total positional precision and?-treatement planning system (?-TPS) planning misdose are tested by film and ionization chamber. The precision of head target location is less than 0.88mm. The body target is less than 1.52mm. The error of single target point between the measured and the predicted doses is less than 0.52% and the error of multi target points is less than 3%. The isodose distribution (on axial plane) from the film is consistent with the predicted one. So, SGS-I?-knife can meet clinical requirements.

Objective To compare the phonetic parameters changes of titanium denture base materials to that of conventionally processed poly methyl methacrylate(PMMA)resin.Methods Forty-two edentulous patients were included in this study.Each patient received two sets of dentures.One of the upper denture was restored with titanium denture base,the other was restored witll conventional PMMA denture base.Consonant /x,sh,r,zh,ch,j,q/associated with place of articulation and manner of articulation were chosen and all of the processed acoustic specimens were stored at computerized speech lab(CSL).Model 4150 (KAY) for the first concentrated frequency area (CFA-1),voice onset time (VOT) and spectrogram were analyzed.Results The consonant articulation effect of denture base showed significant difference between the two type of dentures in the CSL.The consonant parameters(/x,sh,r,zh,ch,j,q/)CFA-1 of group A [(3595±102),(3089±104),(1876±116),(4078±116),(3604±119),(5432±118),(4934±121)Hz]was different from the one of group B[(3644±101),(3280±88),(1978±113),(4214±193),(3817±49),(5478±158),(5020±183)Hz](P<0.05).The consonant parameters VOT of/zh,ch,j/in group A[(54.67±1.13),(143.80±2.24),(62.53±0.75)ms]was different from those of group B[(52.88±0.34),(137.55±2.50),(62.00±1.54) ms](P<0.05).The consonant parameters VOT of/g,k/in group A [(26.94±0.33),(114.53±2.15)ms] was different from those of group B [(28.59 4-0.65),(124.40±3.74) ms](P<0.05).A redundant spike as it was located prior to the inherent spike could be observed in the/g,k/spectrogram of the PMMA denture base group.Conclusions Titanium denture base is recommended to provide a satisfying form of articulate position with thinner front Palate thickness of the denture base.CFA-1 and VOT based CSL are effective acoustic parameters for articulation testing after denture delivery.

Objective To evaluate magnifying endoscopy combined with narrow-band imaging ( ME-NBI) for diagnosis of early gastric cancer (EGC).Methods A total of 150 focal lesions from 143 patients over 35 years old identified by white light endoscopy (WLE) from March 2010 to December 2010 in our tertiary referential institution were recruited in the prospective study with written informed consent.Focal lesions were defined as any small local mucosa with abnormal shape or color based on an assessment of findings of WLE without any specified criteria, including superficial, depressed and elevated lesions.The patients with local advanced gastric cancer, submucosal lesions and history of gastrectomy were excluded from the study.All the patients received ME-NBI.Based on literature, national criteria of early diagnosis with ME-NBI were established.All the lesions underwent biopsy and pathological examination.Diagnostic accuracy of ME-NBI for EGC was assessed with reference to histopathology.Results In 150 focal lesions, 19 were pathologically diagnosed as EGC, 8 of which were treated by endoscopic resection and 11 were resected surgically.The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV) and accuracy of conventional WLE for diagnosing EGC were 94.7%, 53.4%, 22.8%, 98.6% and 58.7%, respectively.The counterparts of ME-NBI for diagnosing EGC were 73.7%, 99.2%, 93.3%, 96.3% and 96.0%, respectively.The diagnostic accuracy of ME-NBI was significantly better than that of conventional WLE (96.0% vs.58.7%, P＜0.05).With regard to the findings of EGC on ME-NBI, irregular or absent microsurface pattern and microvascular pattern were characteristic features of EGC.Conclusion Conventional WLE is still an important and mandatory screening modality, which is significant for further procedures of suspected lesions, preferably accompanied with biopsy.ME-NBI achieved superior accuracy in the differential diagnosis of focal lesions detected with conventional WLE, but needs further verification.

OBJECTIVETo give some theory support of Cistanche tubulosa cultivation by searching dry matter accumulation and echinacoside content of C. tubulosa.

METHODDry matter accumulation content of C. tubulosa culturing in Huabei plain was analysed in different growth season of C. tubulosa. Echinacoside content was determined by HPLC.

RESULTDry matter accumulation of C. tubulosa showed "S" variation. Dry matter accumulation increased fastest in September among growing seasons. Dry matter amount was 138.58 g after C. tubulosa grew a year. Dry matter amount decreased significantly along with inoculation time retarded. Echinacoside content was 30.59% when C. tubulosa grew in 5 months, decreased guadully after that, and 9.76% in annual.

CONCLUSIONVariation rule of dry matter accumulation and echinacoside content was found in C. tubulosa that grew one year in Huabei plain.

This study was amid to construct the pharmacophore model of L-type calcium channel antagonist in the application of screening Drugbank and TCMD. This paper repositions the approved drugs resulting from virtual screening and discusses the relocation-based drug discovery methods, screening antihypertensive drugs with L-type calcium channel function from TCMD. Qualitative hypotheses wre generated by HipHop separately on the basis of 12 compounds with antagonistic action on L-type calcium channel expressed in rabbit cardiac muscle. Datebase searching method was used to evaluate the generated hypotheses. The optimum hypothesis was used to search Drugbank and TCMD. This paper repositions the approved drugs and evaluates the antihypertensive effect of the chemical constituent of traditional Chinese medicine resulting from virtual screening by the matching score and literature. The results showed that optimum qualitative hypothesis is with six features, which were two hydrogen-bond acceptors, four hydrophobic groups, and the CAI value of 2.78. Screening Drugbank achieves 93 approved drugs. Screening TCMD achieves 285 chemical constituents of traditional Chinese medicine. It was concluded that the hypothesis is reliable and can be used to screen datebase. The approved drugs resulting from virtual screening, such as pravastatin, are potentially L-type calcium channels inhibitors. The chemical constituents of traditional Chinese medicine, such as Arctigenin III and Arctigenin are potentially antihypertensive drugs. It indicates that Drug Repositioning based on hypothesis is possible.

The positioning error in radiotherapy is one of the most important factors that influence the location precision of the tumor. Based on the CT-on-rails technology, this paper describes the research on measuring the positioning error in radiotherapy by comparing the planning CT images with the treatment CT images using 3-dimension (3D) methods. It can help doctors to measure positioning errors more accurately than 2D methods. It also supports the powerful 3D interaction such as drag-dropping, rotating and picking-up the object, so that doctors can visualize and measure the positioning errors intuitively.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the inoculation ratio and echinacoside content of Cistanche tubulosa and provide theoretical basis for Tamarix introduction, resource protection and screening of C. tubulosa.

METHOD8 Tamarix species were introduced in the North China Plain and inoculation of C. tubulosa was conducted on all species. Phenylethanoid glycosides fingerprinting and echinacoside content of C. tubulosa were analyzed by using HPLC.

RESULTThe adaptability of 8 Tamarix species were significantly different, phenylethanoid glycosides component of C. tubulosa on T. gansuensis and T. austromongolica were basically identical in contrast to T. chinensis, echinacoside content showed no obvious difference in C. tubulosa plant growing 4 months.

CONCLUSIONT. gansuensis and T. Austromongolica are suitable for the host introduction plant of C. tubulosa resource protection and screening in North China Plain.

Poly (2-ethylacrylic acid) (PEAA) alkylamide derivatives were synthesized for constructing pH-sensitive liposomes by partially modification of carboxylic groups of PEAA with chemical reaction. These lipid derivatives of PEAA were synthesized by partially modification of carboxylic groups of PEAA with alkylamines. The acid-sensitive polymer associated liposomes were obtained by the method of polymer self-insertion in aqueous solutions through inserting hydrophobic lipid anchors of the polymer PEAA derivatives into the outer layer of vesicles. Factor effects on polymer insertion into liposomes were evaluated and the pH-sensitivity of the polymer associated liposomes was studied by calcein release assay. The PEAA-assoeiated-liposomes were prepared successfully by the methods of self-insertion. The PEAA-associated-liposomes are shown to be stable at neutral pH. (1) There was no correlate of anchor density of PEAA with length of the alkyl chain, but was positively correlated with the degree of PEAA modification. (2) Polymer insertion increased with initial ratio of polymer to lipid. (3) Unerting hydrophobic lipidr acidic conditions the associated polymer induces membrane disruption and fusion. (4) The PEAA-associated-liposomes shown pH-sensitive drug release property under acidic conditions. The anchored-poly (ethylacrylic acid) lipid derivatives can be useful in developing a potential pH sensitive drug delivery system.
