The application and studies of reduced diameter implants(RDI)are increasing recently.A case with fracture of three 3.3 mm ITI implants in maxilla was reported in this paper.Combined with the related literature,overload,mechanical complications(such as fatigue, crevice corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement)and the insufficiency of mechanical properties of RDI may lead to the fracture.

"Mistreatment by warming therapy" refers to various symptoms/syndromes caused by improper use of fire methods mentioned in Treatise on Febrile Diseases, which are similar to damaged yin induced fire-heat syndrome (injury of yin, consumption of qi, loss of yin, consumption of body fluid) manifested after radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy in modern clinics. Better efficacy was obtained in treating various symptoms/syndromes by using nourishing yin purging fire method. In this paper authors focuses on exploring guiding significance of using "Mistreatment by warming therapy" in treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of Qinzao jiufei decoction on radiation-induced lung injury and expression of plasma transforming growth factor beta-1(TGF-?1)and interleukin-1(IL-1).METHODS:Local middle and advanced thoracic tumor patients with radiotherapy were randomized into treatment group and control group. Both groups were given radiotherapy. Treatment group were additionally given Qingzao jiufei decoction (200 mL,b.i.d.) for 6 months. The level of TGF-?1 and IL-1 were determined before and after radiotherapy. After 15 days of radiotherapy,clinical symptoms,lung function and high-resolution CT manifestation of thorax were evaluated. Objective:To investigate the relationship between surface hydrogen form and the bioactivity of titanium.Methods:Sandblast titanium was etched with the combination of sulfuric and hydrochloric acids(SLA group,n=3 ).Then etched titanium was heat at 450 ℃in air(SLA+HT group,n=3).Surface topography,roughness,hydrophility,surface chemical texture were observed. Finally,the titanium samples were soaked in body simulate fluid for 3 days,the mineral deposition properties were observed by X-ray diffraction.Results:Titanium hydride was formed on the titanium surface after etching.After heat treatment,surface texture and roughness were not changed,titanium hydride decomposed and hydrophility increased.More hydroxyapatite was found on the surface of the samples treated by SLA+HT and followed by SBF.Conclusion:Titanium hydride can not improve the bioactivity of titanium, heat treatment may increase the mineralization.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the homocysteine,sperm DNA fragmentation index and sperm counts of male with severe impaired spermatoqenesis.Methods From December 2015 to February 2017,56 male patients with severe impaired spermatoqenesis were enrolled in the study.The patients were divided into two groups according to the WHO criteria:severe oligozoospermia and azoospermia group (n =25) and oligoasthenoteratozoospermia group (n =31),and the control group was a male with no reproductive impairment (n=27).The sperm parameters were analyzed by using the computer automatic semen analyzer,sperm DNA fragmentation index and serum Hcy level were detected by sperm chromatin diffusion method and enzyme colorimetric method.Results The median of Sperm DNA fragmentation index and homocysteine level in control groups were 33％ [95％CI(29.0％ ～34.4％)] and 13.2 μmol/L [95％CI(12.4 μmol/L～14.2 μmol/L)],and in severe spermatogenesis groups in these two indicators were 21％ [95％CI(19.0％ ～24.0％)] and 8.9 mol/L [95％CI(8.4 μmol/L～ 9.4 μmol/L)],respectively.The results of these two items were higher than the control group,the difference was statistically significant (t=6.793～7.543,P=0.000).Sperm survival rate in normal control group and severe spermatogenesis group was 71％ [95％ CI(67.8％ ～75.1％)] and 57％[95％CI(52.3％ ～58.0％)],respectively,and the difference was statistically significant (t=-8.475,P=0.000).Sperm DNA fragmentation index was positively correlated with serum Hcy level and sperm concentration,Passing-Bablok regression analysis was:Y=10.705 +0.053X,Y=21.071+0.286X,and Hcy level was negatively correlated with sperm concentration.Conclusion The increase of Hcy level and sperm DNA fragmentation index may be an importantcause of male with severe impaired spermatoqenesis,but the specific mechanism remains to be further studied.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of blood vessel diameter tracking and X-strain technology in evaluating the carotid elasticity in patients with diabetes.Methods Thirty-eight patients who were confirmed as diabetes without complications were enrolled in this study as the patient group and thirtyseven healthy volunteers matched with the patient group with sex,ages were typed as controls.The parameters reflecting common carotid elasticity:pulse wave velocity ( PWV),compliance coefficient (CC),stiffness index ( β),endovascular circumferential strain,strain rate,strain time ( EN _ CS,EN _ CS_ T,EN_CSR,EN_CSR_T),adventitial circumferential strain,strain rate,strain time (EP_CS,EP_CS_T,EP_CSR,EP_ CSR_ T),radial strain ( RS),radial strain rate (RSR) and radial strain time (RST) were measured using blood vessel diameter tracking technique and X-strain technique.Significant difference between the two groups and correlations among these variables were evaluated.Results In patient group,PWV and β were significantly higher than those of the control group,while variables like CC,EN_CS,EN_CSR,EP_CS,EP_CSR,RS and RSR were lower with P ＜0.05.All strain time prolonged in patient group ( P ＜0.05).No significant differences were observed in longitudinal strain index.Furthermore,CC was inversely related with PWV( r =- 0.872,P ＜0.001 ),and age,systolic pressure,β were positively related with PWV ( r =0.322,P =0.005; r =0.384,P =0.001; r =0.927,P ＜0.001) in patients group.Conclusions The stiffness and compliance indexes measured by blood vessel diameter tracking technique and the circumferential and radial strain index obtained by X-strain technique can reflect vessel elasticity change of patient with diabetes objectively.

Objective To observe the lung protection of Astragalus membranaceus against radiotherapy to intermediate-stage and terminal thoracic neoplasm, and its influence on TNF-α and ET expression.Methods The patients with intermediate-stage and terminal thoracic neoplasm under radiotherapy were divided into a treatment group and a control group.Patients in the treatment group took 10 ml of Asragalus membranaceus twice a day.for consecutive 6 months from the beginning of radio therapy.TNF-α and ET in the plasma were measured before and after the radiotherapy.The clinical symptom,iconographic changes and lung diffusion were observed from the 15th day of radiotherapy.Results The TNF-α and ET in plasma afterthe radiotherapy were(2.48±0.75)as/ml and(69.32±23.03)pg/ml for the treatment group,and(5.12±1.01)ns/ml and(97.87±37.83)pg/ml for the control group with the statistial difference(x2=7.49,6.57,P<0.001).The decrease of CO diffusion 5 and 10 months after the radiotherapy in the treatment group was statistically different compared with that in the control group(x2=3.98,3.78,P<0.05).There was a statistical difference of the incidence of acute radiation pneumonitis and pulmonary fibrosis between these two groups(P<0.05).Conclusions Astragalus membranaceus could inhibit the excess expression of TNF-α and ET in plasma and reduce the deterioration of diffusion after radiotherapy,so that it can be used for intervention of lung injuries from radiotherapy.

Objective To introduce the technique and experience in reconstruction of posterior crueiate ligament-posterolateral comer(PCL-PLC)injuries with only one allograft of Achilles tendon. Methods The instable knees in 12 cases with PCL injury combined with three degree chronic PLC injury were treated with PCL reconstruction under arthroscope and PLC reconstruction through posterolateral arc incision.Single bundle grafts of PCL reconstructions in tibial and femoral tunnels were fixed by resorption screws.Fibular collateral ligament(FCL)and popliteofibular ligament(PFL)were reconstructed with reforming Larson(?)method.All reconstruction grafts only needed one Achilles tendon as donator.Total op- eration time was 130 minutes including 90 minutes of PCL reconstruction and 40 minutes of PLC recon- struction.Gradual weight loading was allowed after six weeks of bracing.Results Follow-up for mean 12 months(5-24 months)indicated that tibial“step off”reduction was 83%(10/12)and posterior drawer test of 0-1~+ 75%(9/12).Dial sign evaluated that normal external rotation angle was 75%(8/12).Nor- real varus stress test at 30?knee flexion accounted for 83%(10/12).Scores of Lysholm,Tegner and HSS were 90.5,5.1 and 84.5,respectively(P＜0.01=.Conclusion Synchronized reconstruction of PCL and PLC injuries with only one Achilles tendon can obtain satisfactory clinical result,with less expense and shorter operation time.

To detect the phosphorylation of potassium channel protein (Kv1.2 and Kv1.5) in rat cardiac muscle cells accurately, we applied the combined method of immunoprecipitation and Western blot in this study. Compared with using Western blot alone, the combination of immunoprecipitation and Western blot displayed high sensitivity to detect the activation of potassium channel proteins. Because of its simplicity, quickness and reproducibility, we find that this method was promising for detecting the phosphorylation of Kv1.2 and Kv1.5 proteins or other potassium channel proteins in rat cardiac muscle cells.
