Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;29(4):404-407
Objective: To explore the expression of nerve growth factor (NGF), its receptor P75NGFR and TrkA in the human pancreatic cancer tissues, and to study the relationship between the expression and clinical-pathological indices. Methods: The expression and morphological distribution of NGF, P75NGFR and TrkA were investgated in 65 pancreatic cancer tissues and 18 normal pancreas and chronic pancreatitis tissues by means of immunohistochemistry; the relationship between the expression and clinical-pathological indices was also investigated. Results: The expression of NGF and TrkA in human pancreatic cancer tissues was higher than that in the normal pancreas and chronic pancreatitis. Expression of P75NGFR had no significant change in the two groups. The expression of NGF was positively correlated with tumor size and was also associated with lymphatic invasion. The expression of P75NGFR and TrkA was closely correlated with lymphatic invasion. We also found that the expression of NGF was correlated with histological differentiation, tumor stage, tumor size and lymphatic invasion; the closest relationship was found between the expression of NGF and tumor size. The expression of P75NGFR was correlated with lymphatic invasion, the expression of TrkA was Correlated with both lymphatic invasion and tumor TNM stage. Patient's prognosis after surgery was mainly correlated with lymphatic invasion and the positive expression of TrkA. Conclusion: NGF, P75NGFR and TrkA participate in the progress of pancreatic cancer. TrkA is closely related to pancreatic cancer and can serve as an important target for gene therapy of pancreatic cancer in the future.

5.Impact of endocrine disrupting chemicals on semen quality.
National Journal of Andrology 2011;17(10):943-946
Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are natural or man-made agents that interfere in some way with human or animal normal endocrine function, and even influence the endocrine function of their offspring. There are many kinds of EDCs, which are widely present in soil, water, and even food. This review elaborates the impact of EDCs on human and animal semen quality from the viewpoint of epidemiology and biology by focusing on pesticides, plasticizers and detergents.

In industrial application of NAD(P)H-dependent dehydrogenases, NAD(H) has the advantages over NADP(H) in higher stability, lower price and wider recycling system. Recently, a meso-2,6-diaminopimelate dehydrogenase from Symbiobacterium thermophilum (StDAPDH) has been found to be a useful biocatalyst for the production of D-amino acids, but it requires NADP(H) as co-enzyme. To switch the co-enzyme specificity from NADP(H) to NAD(H), we studied the effect of Y76 on the co-enzyme specificity of StDAPDH, because the crystal structural analysis indicated that residue Y76 is near the adenine ring. The mutation of Y76 exerted significant effect on the co-enzyme specificity. Furthermore, the double mutant R35S/R36V significantly lowered the specific activity toward NADP+, and the combination of R35S/R36V with some of the Y76 mutants resulted in mutant enzymes favorable NAD+ over NADP+. This study should provide useful guidance for the further development of highly active NAD(+)-dependent StDAPDH by enzyme engineering.

Objective To investigate effects of problem-based learning (PBL) and traditional learning (TL) on students' long-term memory and clinical practice ability. Methods Totally 79 5-year-program undergraduates of 2006, 2007, 2008 grade in school of clinical medicine of our hospital were randomly divided into PBL group (n=38) and TL group (n=41). The teaching effects were evaluated by two exams as well as teachers' subjective impression. SPSS 17.0 statistical analysis software was used;exam results were expressed as x±s; t test and rank sum test were used to analyze the exam results and subjective impression. α=0.05 was set as inspection level. Results In the second exam after 6 months, the mean exam scores were (76.66 ±5.94) and (73.59 ±5.74) in PBL group and TL group, without significant differences between the two groups (t=1.85, P=0.068). However, at clinical intern-ship stage, PBL group outperformed TL group based on the subjective evaluation (P=0.065, 0.277). Conclusion PBL can culture students' ability of problem-solving, but it is limited in culturing long-term memory.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2015;31(2):220-230
In this study, a fast carbonyl reductases colorimetric screening method for discovering stereoselective carbonyl reductases was established by combining the reverse alcohol oxidation with the azoreductase-catalyzed reduction of azo dye. When azo dye (Orange I , 4-(4-hydroxy-1-naphthylazo) benzenesulfonic acid) and azoreductase (AzoB) were added into the reaction system of alcohol oxidation catalyzed by carbonyl reductase, the produced NAD(P)H served as electron donor for the azoreductase to reduce the azo dye, resulting the color fade. Hence, the carbonyl reductases can be screened by the obvious color change. When chiral alcohol was used as the substrate, the activity and stereoselectivity of carbonyl reductases can be screened at the same time.
