AIM:To set up the quality standard for Fuyang Jiedu Granules(Radix Sutellariae,Herba Scute-(llariae) Barbatae,Herba Epimedii,etc.). METHODS: Radix Scutellariae,Herba Scutellariae Barbatae and Herba Epimedii in preparation were identified by TLC.The content of baicalin was determined by HPLC on Agilent Eclipse XBD-C_(18) column. The mobile phase was methanol-phosphoric-water(47∶53∶0.2).The detection wavelength was at 280 nm. A Shim-pack VP-ODS column was used to determine icariin.The mobile phase consisted of 0.32% phosphoric acid-acetonitrile(75∶25).The detection wavelength was 270 nm. RESULTS: The spot on the thin layer plate was clear.The negative contral was not disturbed.The linear range of baicalin was in the range 0.122 12 ?g to 0.606 ?g.The average recovery was 99.59% with RSD of 2.16%.The linearity range of icariin was in the range 0.201 6 ?g-1.008 ?g.The average recovery was 99.49% with RSD of 1.31%.(CONCLUSION:) The methods are specific,simple,fast and accurate,and can be used for quality control of Fuyang Jiedu Granules.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the ?-lactamases gene of multi-drug resistant Acinetobactor baumannii(MDR-ABA).METHODS The blaTEM,blaSHV,blaPER,blaGES,blaIMP,blaVIM,blaSIM,blaOXA-23,blaADC and blaDHA genes of 20 MDR-ABA strains were detected by PCR.RESULTS Among 20 MDR-ABA strains,18 strains were with positive blaADC,11 strains were with positive blaTEM;the others were negative.Totally 19 strains were with genes correlated to ?-lactam antibiotics.The results indicated that the blaADC DNA sequence was a new subtype type compared with the blaADC sequence which had registered on America GenBank.CONCLUSIONS blaADC Gene and blaTEM gene have spread in the MDR-ABA group and a new blaADC subtype has been found.

Objective To evaluate therapeutic effect of zoledronic acid combined with chemotherapy in patients with cancer and bone metastases. Methods 60 patients with cancer and skeletal me-tastases were devided randomly into tow groups, 30 patients received zoledronic acid combined with chemotherapy, 30 patients only received chemotherapy. Cheotherapeutic program of tow groups were same. Results Response rate of bone pain relief was 83. 3% in zoledronic acid combined with chemotherapeutic group and 56.7% in chemotherapy alone group. Response rate of skeletal metastases was 53. 3% in zoledronic acid combined with chemotherapy group and 20. 0% in chemotherapy alone group. Response rate of movement capacity improvement was 73. 3% in zoledronic acid combined with chemotherapeutic group and 30. 0% in chemotherapy alone group. Objective: To establish a method for the identification of the Periplaneta americana and other insectivorous herbs (Scorpio and Hirudo) based on infrared spectroscopy combined with chemometrics, and to provide a basis for the identification of the P. americana. Methods: Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to collect the infrared spectrum data of three kinds of insect medicine powders. After the second order derivation of the obtained spectral data, the ordinate verticalization method and standardization method were used to optimize the spectrum. The spectral data was further analyzed by chemometrics, such as hierar chicalcluster analysis (HCA), principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA). Results: There were differences in the infrared fingerprints of the P. americanas, Scorpios, Leeches. The absorption peaks of the P. americanas at 1 711, 1 410, and 712 cm-1 were obvious. The absorption peaks of the Scorpios at 1 753, 1 400, 1 168, and 717 cm-1 were obvious. The absorption peaks of the Leeches at 1 558, 1 457, 1 400, and 669 cm-1 were obvious, And the leeches have no absorption peak at 1 753-1 711 cm-1. The peak shape of the three insectivorous herbs was significantly different at 1 800-1 700 cm-1. In the second derivative spectrum, the positions of the main peaks are the same, but the intensity of the common peaks is different. Using the HCA analysis method, it was found that the three insectivorous herbs could be quickly distinguished. The PCA and PLS-DA analysis methods were used to find that the three insectivorous herbs were distributed in different regions. Conclusion: Infrared spectroscopy combined with chemometrics can easily and quickly identify the P. americanas and other insectivorous herbs (Scorpios and Leeches), and provide reference for the quality control and evaluation of P. americanas.

Stroke is a hi-attack rate,hi-multilation rate and hi-death rate disease.More than 70 percent patients with stroke remain functional disturbance,which destroy their quality of life and bring them heavy burden.The early multidisciplinary rehabilitation treatment,rehabilitation care,family rehabilitation training and application of new technology are the major strategies in kinds of rehabilitation treatment on stroke patients.The clinical researches have showed that the effect of multidisciplinary rehabilitation treatment is obviously better than simple treatment.So these therapeutic regimens have wonderful prospect and valuable generalization.

Gene chip is a research tool on molecular biology which can detect generous gene expression rapidly.The studies on gene chip of leiomyoma have revealed the changes of gene expression related to cell growth,proliferation,apoptosis,metabolism,angiogenesis,formation of extracellular matrix,cell differentiation and immunity.The article reviews the advance on gene chip of leiomyoma and approaches the pathogenesis of leiomyoma on molecular level.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect and safety of extracorporeal shock wave (ESW) in the treatment of pain symptom of type III B prostatitis.

METHODSWe treated 50 cases of type III B prostatitis by ESW once a week for 4 weeks. Then we evaluated the clinical effect and safety of the therapy based on the NIH-CPSI scores, visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, IIEF-5 scores, prostate volume and morphous, state of urination, color of urine, results of routine semen analysis, and changes of cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α and IL-1β) in expressed prostatic secretion (EPS).

RESULTSAll the patients successfully accomplished the treatment. Compared with the baseline, decreases were observed after 4 weeks of cytokine treatment in the pain scores (14. 61 ± 1. 82 vs 9. 36 ± 1. 47, P <0. 01), urination symptom scores (4. 59 ± 1. 01 vs.4. 66 ± 0. 89, P >0. 05) , quality of life scores (6. 51 ± 1. 03 vs 4. 56 ± 1. 02, P <0. 01), NIH-CPSI (25. 43 ± 1. 72 vs 18. 28 ± 2. 32, P <0. 01 ), and VAS (6. 59 ± 1. 10 vs 3. 02 ± 1. 07, P < 0. 01). The concentration of IL-6 in the EPS was significantly increased ([55.82 ± 6. 28] vs [86.59 ± 4. 55] ng/ml, P <0. 01) , while the level of TNF-α ([3.89 ± 0. 12] vs [3. 19 ± 0.22] ng/ml, P<0.01) and that of IL-1β ([3.21 ± 1.01] vs [1.48 ± 0.95] ng/ml, P< 0. 01) remarkably reduced after treatment. However, there were no statistically significant differences in IIEF-5 scores (18. 58 ± 2. 03 vs 18. 51 1. 89, P >0. 05) or various sperm parameters before and after treatment (P >0. 05). And no significant changes were observed in the prostate volume, morphous or internal echoes.

CONCLUSIONThe ESW therapy is effective and safe for the pain symptom of type III B prostatitis.

Objective:To investigate the differences in related indices of ulcerative colitis (UC) respectively induced by free drinking and intragastric administration of dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) in mice to provide experimental reference for the optimization of UC model.Methods:Totally 30 C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into the normal control group,free drinking group and intragastric administration group with 10 ones in each.The mice drank water freely with free drinking or intragastric administration of 3% DSS solution at the dose of 4 g·kg-1·day-1 for 7 days to establish the UC model.The differences in disease activity index (DAI),histological damage sore and activity of myeloperoxidase (MPO) among the groups were compared.Results:Two mice died during the experiment in the free drinking group,and DAI of survival mice was (8.8±1.6).There was no death of mice in intragastric administration group,and DAI was (9.0±0.8),and there was no significant difference in DAI between the groups (P>0.05),while the coefficient of variation in the free drinking group was higher than that in the intragastric administration group (18.7 vs 8.6).The colonic histological damage score of the free drinking group and the intragastric administration group was 24.8±4.2 and 27.0±2.8,respectively,which was typical inflammatory change with no significant difference (P>0.05),while the coefficient of variation of the free drinking group was higher than that of the intragastric administration group (16.9 vs 10.4).MPO of the normal control group,free drinking group and intragastric administration group was (0.41±0.03),(2.32±0.34) and (2.05±0.18) U·g-1,respectively.Compared with the normal control group,significant difference in MPO was shown in the free drinking group and the intragastric administration group (P<0.01),while there was no significant difference in MPO between the groups (P>0.05),and the coefficient of variation in the free drinking group was higher than that in the intragastric administration group (14.7 vs 8.8).Conclusion:Both free drinking and intragastric administration of DSS can successfully induce the UC model in mice.Compared with the free drinking group,the intragastric administration group has low mortality rate and low coefficient of variation.Therefore,intragastric administration has more advantages than free drinking in inducing the UC model in mice.
