Objective To study the alteration of hepatocyte growth factor and c-met in the lungs of rats with pulmonary arterial hypertension and its possible underlying mechanisms.Methods Left pneumonectomy plus monocrotaline injection was used for rat PAH model.Rats were executed after measurement of their pulmonary arterial pressure at 1,2, 3 and 4 weeks after MCT injection.Then the right lung and heart were harvested for further analyses.Expression of HGF and c-met was determined by RT-PCR and Western blot.Expression of eNOS and caspase-3 was analyzed immunohistochemically and intrapulmonary TGF-β and ET-1 was analyzed with ELISA.Results Compared with the normal controls, manifestations of right heart hypertrophy and failure, well-elevated pulmonary arterial pressure were observed 28 days after left lung resection and MCT injection.Pulmonary vascular remodeling (i.e., pulmonary fibrosis, hyperplasia of pulmonary arterial endothelial cells and vascular smooth muscle cells in tunica media, as well as decease of vascular density) was observed.Intrapulmonary HGF expression decreased in a time-dependent manner at both mRNA and protein levels 4 weeks after MCT injection, while c-met stayed unchanged.Immunohistochemically, expression of eNOS was reduced and caspase-3 strengthened.On the contrary, ET-1 and TGF-β were obviously up-regulated(P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Intrapulmonary HGF expression was obviously downregulated in PAH rats, accompanying with reduction of NO and increase of ET-1 and TGF-β expression, while c-met still unchanged.

Objective To analyze the clinical features and image manifestations of hepatic inflammatory myofibro-blastie tumor( HIMT), and to investigate the optimal management of this disease. Methods From January 2000 to January 2007, clinical data with HIMT verified by pathology were retrospectively analyzed. Results Eight patients 5 men, 3 women were included in the analysis. The mean age was 41.3 years. All eases did not have a history of previous hepatitis and liver cirrhosis, and 6 with no typical clinical symptoms. Hepatic functions, serum levels of AFP, CEA, CA199 in these patients were all within the normal ranges. Preoperative imaging by ultrasonography and computed tomography(CT) were not indicative of HIMT. Morphologic features by CT scan were summarized: at nonenhanced CT, the masses appeared as low density lesions. At contrast enhanced CT, the masses exhibited mod-erate intensification in the solitary areas, and the intensification peak appeared during the period of artery. During the period of portal vein and delayed scan, the masses showed low to moderate intensification in the solitary areas, in which the degree of intensification was a little lower than that in peripheral liver parenchyma. Gross specimens showed single solid masses, 3～12 cm, without classic envelope. All the patients underwent surgery whereas no incidence of perioperative death. Diagnosis of HIMT was confirmed by pathology of surgical specimens. Condusion Although typical presentation and the diagnostic workup are still lacking for HIMT, CT is helpful in diagnosing HIMT as well as combined with clinical findings. Surgical management would be likely the optimal treatment of this disease.

Objective:To explore the effects of Bufalin on the growth and proliferation of human glioma cells U251. Methods:Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT)assay was used to detect the effect of Bufalin on the proliferation of human glioma cells U251. An in-verted microscope was used to observe the changes of cell number,morphology and activity. AnnexinV/ PI was used to measure the in-duction of cell apoptosis caused by Bufalin. Results:Bufalin at different concentrations(0. 001 - 10. 0μmol·L - 1 )inhibited the pro-liferation of U251 cells in a dose and time-dependent manner. Compared with that of the control group,the apoptosis rate of Bufalin group was increased significantly(P < 0. 01). Conclusion:Bufalin can inhibit the growth and proliferation of U251 cells in a dose and time-dependent manner,and induce the apoptosis of U251 cells.

BACKGROUND:Fast track surgery, also cal ed enhanced recovery after surgery, is a series of optimal measures adopted during the perioperative period on the basis of evidence-based medicine, to reduce the physical and mental trauma brought to the patient and accelerate their recovery. It has become the research focus of orthopedic clinic as the surgery and anesthesia skil s are improved a lot in recent years, especial y the articular surgery, which has been widely used in clinics. OBJECTIVE:To summarize the clinical study of the application of optimal measures in joint replacement surgery both at home and abroad in recent years. METHODS:The first author searched related articles in PubMed and Chinese Journal Ful-text Database from January 1997 to September 2016. The key words were“joint replacement, enhanced recovery after surgery, multi-mode analgesia, diet management, steroid hormones”. 81 articles were found at last and one monograph was included. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) We found that the recovery plan reduced the hospital stays of the patients from 4-12 days to 1-3 days, including pre-operative health education, shortening fasting and water-depriving duration before surgery, super-anesthesia before surgery and do not place catheter;adopting general anesthesia and appropriate adductor canal to relieve the pain, and stopping bleeding using tranexamic acid during operation;multi-mode analgesia, faster function exercise after anesthesia recovery, and drinking water in early phase after surgery during the perioperative period of joint replacement surgery conducted by the cooperation of surgeon, anesthetist, nurse and nutritionist. There were no significant improvements of postoperative complications rate and rehospitalization rate. (2) The research found that, enhanced recovery after surgery is suitable for most of the patients receiving joint replacement surgery, including those in advanced age, combined heart and lung disease before surgery, type 2 diabetes and smoking and drinking before surgery.

Objective By analyzing the cesarean delivery rate (CDR) and the indications of cesarean section in Jiangsu Province from 2012 to 2014, to find the strategy to reduce CDR.Methods Data of 40 hospitals whose number of delivery was over 2 400 per year from the database of the Quality Control Center of Gynecology and Obstetrics of Jiangsu Province from 2012 to 2014 were selected.The cohort was divided into two groups, one was specialized hospital including 11 maternal and child health hospitals and the other included 29 general hospitals.After analyzing the current status of cesarean section of the whole province, the average CDR and the distribution of the first indications of cesarean section in two groups were compared using Chi-square test.Results The average CDRs at year 2012, 2013 and 2014 were 53.8％(96 347/178 970), 51.8％ (97 509/188 142) and 48.8％(106 323/217 877), which had a trend of decrease (x2=1 026.2, P ＜ 0.01).CDR without medical indications for each year were 15.7％ (28 098/178 970), 15.5％ (29 162/188 142) and 12.8％ (27 888/217 877).The rate had decreased apparently from both 2012 and 2013 to 2014 (x2=217.6, P ＜ 0.01;x2=341.3, P ＜ 0.01).The CDRs of specialized hospitals for year 2012, 2013 and 2014 were 51.2％ (45 496/ 88 916), 50.6％ (45 853/90 607) and 49％ (55 404/113 105), while the CDRs of general hospitals for each year were 56.6％(50 851/90 054), 53.0％(51 656/97 535) and 48.6％(50 919/104 772).Both showed significant decreasing trend (x2=105.8 and 1 215.7, both P ＜ 0.01).The average CDR of general hospitals was obviously higher than that of specialized hospitals in 2012 and 2013 (x2=505.6 and 104.3, both P ＜ 0.01).However, the difference disappeared in 2014 (x2=3.2, P ＞ 0.05).The three main first indications of cesarean section were associated and postoperative pregnancy complications, and no medical indications.Interestingly, from 2012 to 2014, the CDR for scarred uterus in specialized hospitals raised from 5.4％ to 20.3％, and that in general hospitals increased from 6.7％ to 21.6％, which became the first.Conclusions The average CDR in Jiangsu Province tends to decrease each year, so does the CDR without medical indications.The first indication of cesarean section is associated or postoperative pregnancy complications, while scarred uterus becomes the most common in cesarean section.

A novel Aspergillus terreus strain M11 was isolated from the compost containing cellulose and identified. The isolate grow best at 45℃ and pH2.0. It was found that the activity of the CMCase was up to 3.680IU/mL with high heat stability and the optimal reaction conditions of the CMCase were at 60℃ and pH2.0.

In this article, main research progresses in recent ten years were reviewed, which included resources, chemical components and pharmacological effects of Ziziphus jujuba. The research and development of medication, health care product and food with Ziziphus jujuba as its main ingredient were summarized for further references in related studies.
