Objective To investigate the influence of early rehabilitation on cognitive function of patients with acute stroke. Methods 120 acute stroke patients were selected as research subjects, and according to the digital table, they were randomly divided into the study group and the control group.ESS,BI,QOF and NCSE Scale were used to evaluate the limb function, quality of life, cognitive function of patients before and after treatment. Results After treatment,ESS score was higher than before treatment. After treatment,ESS score of the study group was (81.4 ±7.7) points, which was significantly higher than the control group (75.1 ± 4.5) points (t =5.47,P < 0.05).BI,QOF score after treatment were higher than before treatment.BI,QOF score in the study group were (67.3 ± 16.7) points,(8.2 ± 0.4) points respectively, which were significantly higher than those of the control group [(58.2 ± 14.5) points,(7.6 ± 0.7) points] (t =3.19,5.77,all P < 0.05).After treatment, the scores of cognitive function in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group (t =4.21,7.33,4.77,2.86,7.48,4.06,7.11,4.92,7.23,4.11,all P < 0.05).Conclusion Early rehabilitation treatment can improve the patients' neurological deficit, improve the patients' limb movement disorder and cognitive function, improve quality of life.
2.Research progress in mechanisms of biocompatibility
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2011;34(1):-
The interaction of biomaterials and tissues has been the focus of biomaterial science for many years and formed the foundation of the subject of biocompatibility. The research about biomaterials provides better basis for biomedical devices by the understanding of biocompatibility phenomena. In this paper, over 50 years of experience with such devices is analysed and it is shown that, in the vast majority of circumstances, the sole requirement for biocompatibility in a medical device intended for long-term contact with the tissues of the human body is that no harm should be brought to those tissues. Only a few bio-active biomaterials has been applied successfully in clinics. This artical gives a review on the application of biomaterials in tissue engineering, sophisticated cells, drug and gene delivery systems and in biotechnology. Interactions between biomaterials and tissue components is discussed as well.

Objective To study the anti-apoptotic effects of Levodopa on osteonecrosis of the femoral head induced by methylprednisolone (MPS).Methods Forty-four rabbits were randomly divided in to 3 groups. The model group (n=15) was injected with lipopolysaccharide (LPS,10 μg/kg) and then MPS (20 mg/kg) was given 3 times with 24 h interval. The treatment group (n=1 5) was firstly treated by the same methods as the model group, then was administered Levodopa (0.4 g·kg~(-1)·d~(-1)) orally after the last injection of MPS.The control group (n=14) was injected with sodium chloride alone. On the 6th and 8th week after modeling, radiography and MR images were taken in 7 rabbits of each group, specimens taken from the femoral heads were observed by HE stain and TUNEL analysis was made.Blood samples were taken for detection of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) on the 8th week. Results On the 6th and 8th week, the average percentage of empty osteocyte lacunae in the treatment group (13.33‰±3.06‰,25.97‰±6.29‰) was significantly lower than that of the model group (21.44‰±4.77‰,33.86‰±8.38‰,P<0.01),and the average apoptosis index in the treatment group (74.93‰±14.32‰,120.67‰±13.13‰) was significantly lower than that of the model group (102.56‰±18.96‰,202.02‰±18.99‰.,P<0.01).On the 8th week, the level of IGF-1 in the treatment group was (14.78±2.37)ng/ml,which was higher than that of the model group obviously (10.12±2.49)ng/ml(P<0.01).Conclusion The Levodopa can decrease apoptosis of osteocytes and effectively prevent the progress of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of ginsenoside Rb1 and Re on injury of the neonate rat cardiomyocyte induced by aconitine alkaloids. Methods The influence of aconitine and ginsenoside Rb1,Re together in neonate rat cardiomyocyte was observed respectively. The influence of these components in neonate rat cardiomyocyte was examined by myocard zymogram. The expression of Ca2+ channel gene Cav1.2 mRNA of neonate rat cardiomyocyte after treatment was observed by RT-PCR.Results The ginsenoside Rb1 and Re were able to decrease the release of AST and LDH,reverse Cav1.2 mRNA abundance induced by aconitine. Conclusion The ginsenoside Rb1 and Re which together with aconitine can alleviate the side effects and boost up the therapeutic effects of aconitine. The action mechanism may be relation with that the ginsenoside Rb1 and Re can decrease injuries of the neonate rat cardiomyocytes and abundant expression of Cav1.2 mRNA induced by aconitine.

OBJECTIVE: To establish spectrophotometry and HPLC methods for the determination of ferrous succinate tablet and to compare the results of above two methods with that of cerium sulphate method.METHODS: Ferrous reacted with 1,10-phenanthroline to form colored complex and spectrophotometry was applied to measure its absorbance. The detection wavelength was set at 510 nm.HPLC method was performed on C18 column with mobile phase consisted of 0.05 mol?L-1 KH2PO4 (pH=2.5) at detection wavelength of 215 nm.The method was quantified by an external standard mode.RESULTS: The linear range of ferrous in spectrophotometry was 0.042 44~2.546 4 mg?L-1 (r=0.999 8) with an average recovery of 99.5% (RSD

Objective Our study is to observe the effects of conjugated equine estrogen (CEE) combined with medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) on hemorheology in postmenopausal women in order to evaluate mechanism responsible for the increase in the incidence of cardiovascular disease after menopause and also to provide proper instruction and advice of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for postmenopausal women Methods 60 healthy postmenopausal women were assigned to 3 groups randomly, 20 cases in each group Group A: CEE 0 625 mg/d+MPA 2 mg/d+calcium carbonate co. (Ca D) 600 mg/d Group B: CEE 0 3 mg/d+MPA 2 mg/d+Ca D 600 mg/d Group C: Ca D 600 mg/d only served as control Measurements of hemorheological parameters were performed before and 6 months after treatment Results After 6 months of HRT, group A: blood viscosity under the shear rate of 94 5 s -1 dropped from (5 23? 0 37) mPa?s to (5 03? 0 43) mPa?s ( P 0 05) Conclusion Both different dosages of CEE have favor effects on blood viscosity and erythrocyte deformabillity, which could play the role in preventing cardiovascular disease in postmenopausal women
