"Mistreatment by warming therapy" refers to various symptoms/syndromes caused by improper use of fire methods mentioned in Treatise on Febrile Diseases, which are similar to damaged yin induced fire-heat syndrome (injury of yin, consumption of qi, loss of yin, consumption of body fluid) manifested after radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy in modern clinics. Better efficacy was obtained in treating various symptoms/syndromes by using nourishing yin purging fire method. In this paper authors focuses on exploring guiding significance of using "Mistreatment by warming therapy" in treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

BACKGROUND:Atopic individuals predispose to alergic rhinitis after contacting with an alergen, which is mainly released by IgE-mediated histamine. Alergic rhinitis is a kind of non-infectious inflammatory disease that involves a variety of immune cels and cytokines and is related to Th1 and Th2 immune imbalance. Interferon γ is a cytokine secreted by Th1 cels, while interleukin-4 is a cytokine secreted by Th2 cels. OBJECTIVE:To establish a stable 129Sv mouse model of alergic rhinitis, so as to lay the foundation of establishing gene knockout 129Sv mouse models of alergic rhinitis, and to observe the concentration variation of IgE, interleukin-4 and interferon γ. METHODS: Twenty-four mice were randomly divided into 2 groups: model and control groups. Mice in the model group were sensitized by intraperitoneal injection of ovalbumin to establish mouse models of alergic rhinitis. Mice in the control group were subjected to intraperitoneal injection of PBS. After successful modeling, pathological changes of nasal eosinophils and plasmocyte infiltration were evaluated by nasal mucosa staining. Interleukin 4 and interferon γ levels and ovalbumin-specific IgE antibody concentration were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay showed that compared with the control group, serum ovalbumin-IgE and interleukin-4 concentrations were significantly increased, and Interferon γ concentration was significantly lower in the model group (P < 0.05). Hematoxylin-eosin staining results showed that cilia lodging and submucosal serous gland hyperplasia, eosinophils and plasmocyte infiltration were obvious. These results confirm that a mouse model of allergic rhinitis was successfully constructed in this study and the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis was related to Th1/Th2 imbalance.

Chinese Journal of Surgery 2002;40(10):766-768
OBJECTIVETo summarize the clinical features and diagnosis and treatment of uncinate process carcinoma of the pancreas.
METHODSFrom January 1998 to December 2000, 41 patients of pancreas uncinate process carcinoma were retrospectly analysed.
RESULTSUpper abdominal pain accompanied with back pain, weight loss and jaundice were the main symptoms. Thirty-six patients were subjected to regional pancreaticoduodenectomy (RP), 11 to SMV-PV or SMA lateral wall partial resection or partial vascular resection and reconstruction, of which PV reconstruction with PTEE grafts was performed in 2 patients. Two cholecystojejunostomy Roux-en-Y. Alcohol injection was made in the nerve plexus of the trunks of both celic axes and the superior mesenteric artery and regional chemotherapy via chemotherapy pump and liver biopsy in one case. Abdominal exploration was performed in 1 case and no-operation in another. None of the cases died perioperatively. Postoperation survival 2 - 44 months and was 1 the median survival was 11.2 months. Four patients are still alive, the longest surviving have been 44 months. The 1-year and 3-year survival rate was 37.0% and 3.7%.
CONCLUSIONSPancreas uncinate process carcinoma has a tendency to invade adjacent SMV/SMA-PV and is difficult to diagnose early. Since those are related to its location and not to its invading behaviors, the tumon is highly resecable (87.8%).

The effectiveness and safety of acupuncture-moxibustion for the treatment of agrypnia was systematically reviewed. The clinical randomized controlled trial (RCT) of acupuncture-moxibustion for agrypnia were collected. The literature and document on acupuncture-moxibustion RCT for the treatment of agrypnia that published from January of 2001 to March of 2012 was searched with computer in PubMed, CNKI, Wanfang and VIP database. According to Cochrane Handbook 5. 1. 0, the bias risk and quality assessment were performed on every included trial and RevMan 5. 0 software was applied to make the Meta analysis. Totally 14 researches were included, involving 2662 cases. The Meta analysis showed that the differences of total effective rate between acupuncture-moxibustion and clinical routine treatment were significant [RR = 1.16, 95% CI (1.12, 1.19), Z = 9.32, P < 0.000 01]. The results indicate that total effective rate of acupuncture-moxibustion for agrypnia is obviously superior to that of clinical routine treatment, meaning clinical efficacy of acupuncture-moxibustion is served credit.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(27):4417-4422
BACKGROUND:HLA-DRB1 is related to the pathogenesis of alergic rhinitis. Construction ofHLA-DRB1 gene knockout animal models not only elucidates the pathogenesis of alergic rhinitis, but also provides a good way for the elucidation of the pathogenesis of alergic rhinitis-related diseases. OBJECTIVE:To establish the HLA-DRB1gene knockout animal models. METHODS:Homozygous, wild-type and heterozygous mice were obtained by inbreeding of the heterozygous mice. Confirmed by gene and protein identification, 24 female wild-type (H2-eb1+/+) mice and 12 H2-eb1-/-mice aged 8 weeks were selected according to the random number table. 12 H2-eb1+/+ mice and 12 H2-eb1-/- mice were sensitized with ovalbumin to establish the mouse models of alergic rhinitis. Another 12 mice were sensitized with PBS as comparison. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the control mice, serum levels of ovalbumin-specific IgE and interleukin-4 were significantly increased, while serum level ofγ-interferon was significantly decreased in the mouse models of alergic rhinitis. Serum levels of IgE and interleukin-4 were lower, while serumγ- interferon level was higher, inH2-eb1-/-gene knockout mice of alergic rhinitis than those in the H2-eb1+/+ gene knockout wild-type mice. These results suggest thatH2-eb1 gene may play an important role in regulating Th1/Th2 imbalance in the pathogenesis of alergic rhinitis.

Objective To explore the feasibility of exogenous NGF and/or Noggin gene transfecting into the bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and observe the differentiation of BMSCs modified by NGF and/or Noggin. Methods BMSCs were isolated from SD rat and purified by adherent method and these cells were identified by their phenotypical properties and their abilities of differentiating into adipocytes.Ad-GFP-NGF and/or Ad-GFP-Noggin were transfected into BMSCs.The protein expressions of NGF and/or Noggin were detected using immunocytochemistry and Western blotting. The differentiations of gene modified BMSCs were observed by immunohistochemistry.Result The cells selected by adherent method had basic phenotypical properties of BMSCs and could differentiate into adipocytes.BMSCs without transfection and those transfected with Ad-GFP expressed low level of NGF without Noggin expression. All gene modified BMSCs could express NGF and/or Noggin. After transfection, BMSCs could differentiate into cells having neuronal morphology and expressing NF (H).The combined transfection group had the highest ratio of NF(H)+ cells among all the groups. Conclusion BMSCs can be isolated and purified from rat bone marrow by adherent method.Ad-GFP-NGF and/or Ad-GFP-Noggin can transfect BMSCs safely and the transfected cells can express those proteins persistently and efficiently.NGF and Noggin can induce BMSCs into neuron-like cells in vitro and when they exist simultaneously, the differentiation is further enhanced.

Chinese Journal of Pediatrics 2013;51(8):621-624
OBJECTIVETo characterize the clinical and angiographic features in children with renovascular hypertension.
METHODClinical data of 14 children (7 male, 7 female; age 0.8-14 years, mean 8.7 years), who were diagnosed with renovascular hypertension by renal angiography in our institute from January 2005 to December 2012 were collected and retrospectively analyzed.
RESULTThe mean blood pressure at the diagnosis was 187/127 mm Hg. Chief complaints of symptomatic patients were headache (29%, 4/14), hypertensive encephalopathy (36%, 5/14), signs of congestive heart failure (14%, 2/14) and hematemesis (7%, 1/14). Renovascular hypertension was found incidentally in 14% (2/14) of patients who were asymptomatic. Conventional renal angiography elucidated the anatomical distribution of lesions in the renal arterial system. It was found that 14% (2/14) of patients had bilateral disease, 50% (7/14) had single stenosis at main or accessory renal artery, while multiple stenoses was seen in 43% (6/14) of children, with involvement of segmental renal artery and small interlobar or arcuate vessels. Compared with catheter angiography, 50% (7/14) of patients with renovascular hypertension, especially intrarenal arterial disease, were missed on computed tomography angiography or magnetic resonance angiography.
CONCLUSIONIt is mandatory to emphasize blood pressure measurement in pediatric clinical practice for early recognition of renovascular hypertension. As children with renovascular hypertension display involvement of multiple arteries, including in smaller intrarenal arteries, digital subtraction angiography is the only method that can reliably diagnose pediatric renovascular hypertension.

OBJECTIVETo make an inquiry into method of typing of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).
METHODAverage monthly rates were calculated on the basis of data from 1995 to 1999, then cluster analysis was carried out to type out endemic areas.
RESULTSCompared with the results of 36 surveillance spots from 1980 to 1992, twenty-four surveillance spots had the same results (66.7%). Twenty-three surveillance spots had the same results with the original data in 1999 (82.1%).
CONCLUSIONHFRS incidences increased in spring or in summer, but decreased in autumn or in winter. Cluster analysis seemed to be a supplementary method in distinguishing the epidemic types for HFRS.
