Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 1996;0(07):-
Objective It has been shown that fluorinated inhalational anesthetics have various adverse effects on the lungs. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of different concentrations of isoflurane (ISO) on the lungs in rats. Methods Ninety Wistar rats of both sexes weighing 140-200 g were randomly divided into two groups : (A) control group received only oxygen inhalation ( n = 30) and (B) isoflurane group (n = 60) which was farther divided into 2 subgroups (n = 30):0.6% and 1.4% isoflurane. In each subgroup isoflurane was inhaled for 2 h ( n = 10), 4h (n = 10) or 8 h ( n = 10) . The animals were placed in a glass container and isoflurane was delivered from ISO vaporizer into the container through the inlet. The end-tidal ISO concentration was checked at the outlet. The animals were sacrificed at the end of ISO inhalation. The lungs were immediately removed and blood was collected for determination of (1) lung water content, (2) protein content and neutrophil ratio in broncho-alveolar lavage fluid (BALF) , (3) serum and BALF surfactant protein-A (SP-A) content and (4) microscopic examination. Results There was no significant difference in all variables between control group and 0.6% ISO subgroup. Exposure to 1.4% ISO for 8 h caused an increase in neutrophil ratio and protein content in BALF, and serum SP-A content but a decrease in BALF SP-A content. There was no significant difference in lung water content between control group and 1.4% ISO (8 h) subgroup. Conclusion Isoflurane (1 MAC) inhalation over 8 h may impair the function of alveolar epithelium.
3.Imaging features of 6 children with splenic primary solitary tumor
Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2016;(2):128-131
Objective To explore the imaging features of pediatric splenic primary solitary tumor. Methods The medical imaging appearances of 6 children with splenic primary solitary tumor conifrmed by surgery and pathology from January 2010 to August 2015 were retrospectively studied. The related literatur were reviewed. Results In 6 children, 2 children of cystic lesions, ultrasound showed anechoic mass, CT scan showed low density mass, without change after contrast, pathologically conifrmed as congenital cyst;2 children’s ultrasound showed solid echo, color Doppler ultrasound explored the blood lfow signals, contrast CT showed the lower strength around the splenic parenchyma, pathologically conifrmed as splenic lymphangioma;one child’s unltrasound showed echo mass with rich signals of blood lfow, MRI scans showed T1WI, T2WI and other signals of lumps, with little homogenity after contrast, pathologically conifrmed as splenic hamartoma;one child’s ultrasound cannot distinguish tumor boundaries, contrast CT scan showed concentric filling reinforcement, pathologically confirmed as hemangioma. Conclusion Splenic primary solitary tumor in children is rare. There are no speciifc clinical characteristics. The image ifndings can deifne the locations and help the differential diagnosis. The ifnal diagnosis depends on pathology.
4.Ultrasonic findings of heptobiliary involvement in Langerhans′ cell histiocytosis in children
Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2016;(1):40-43
Objective To evaluate the sonography features of heptaobiliary involvement of pediatric Langerhans′cell histiocytosis ( LCH) . Methods Nine pediatric patients with LCH confirmed by the clinical presentation ,biochemical tests and pathologic results of our hospital were retrospectively analyzed . Results Eight patients were seen in multi‐system LCH ,while one patient only had liver involved . All patients showed varying hepatomegaly with multiple distributed lesions in ultrasound images . According the lesion distribution features ,they could be classified into three types:central type(6/9) ,peripheral type(1/9) and diffuse type(2/9) . In ultrasonography ,they manifested as linear lesions alongside the central portal veins , multi‐nodular and randomly distributed lesions in liver parenchyma ,or both of them . Eight bile‐duct involved patients behaved with unevenly thicked bile‐duct walls ,stenosis or dilated bile‐ducts ,and even sclerosing cholangitis , some of them with cholelithiasis . Conclusions Pediatric LCH patients with heptobiliary involved are seemed mainly in multi‐system LCH ,while it is rare but possible that pathological Langerhans′cell only infringe on liver and bile‐ducts . The ultrasound imaging findings of pediatric LCH liver infiltration are with characteristic and are helpful for the early diagnosis and clinical procedure .

Objective To study the changes of mesenteric arterioles on the contractile response to norepinephrine in patients with cirrhosis and portal hypertension (PHT) caused by hepatitis B after treatment by high-dose vitamin C.Methods Eleven PHT patients and 6 non-PHT volunteer were those undergoing their respective surgeriesat in our hospital from January 2010 to June 2011.The PHT patients were randomly assigned to vitamin C treatment group and placebo treatment group. After admission and before induction of anesthesia, blood taken to mesure plasma concentration of malonaldehyde (MDA).Intraoperative portal pressure was measured. We took the third level intestinal mesentery vessels with their mesentery next to the jejunum and studied the contractile response to norepinephrine of the intestinal mesenteric arterioles. We also measured RhoA/ROCK pathway associated proteins' expression and activity changes by Western-blot method. Results The average value of the plasma MDA of PHT patients with cirrhosis was much higher than that of non-PHT patients. After treatment by vitamin C,the value decreased. The dose-response curve of isolated mesenteric arterioles to norepinephrine from PHT patients with cirrhosis shifted to the right, and the EC50 value was higher than that of non-PHT patients. But this phenomenon was reversed after the patients treated with vitamin C.The protein expression of RhoA in mesenteric arteries did not change significantly among the three groups. But the protein expression and activity of ROCK-1 was significantly reduced in PHT patients with cirrhosis. After treatment with vitamin C,the expression and activity of ROCK-1 in mesenteric arteries of cirrhosis was significantly increased. Conclusion The PHT patients with cirrhosis are in the situation of oxidative stress. The high-dose vitamin C treatment can reduce oxidative stress level and improve contractile hyporeactivity of mesenteric arterioles of PHT patients with cirrhosis to norepinephrine. The protein expression and activity increasement of ROCK in RhoA/ ROCK pathway is involved in thisphenomenon.

Objective To check the neutrophil count and the expression of cell surface adhesion molecule, lymphocyte function associated antigen?1(LFA?1)in peripheral neutrophils in severe preeclamptic patients and normal pregnant women in order to investigate the correlation of neutrophil activation with preeclampsia. Methods Totally 28 pregnant women in the department of gynecology and obstetrics in Shengjing Hospital from No?vember 2013 to January 2014 were included in the study, and divided into the severe preeclampsia group(n=14),and the control group(normal pregnant women,n=14). There was no statistically significant difference in age and gestational weeks between the two groups. The expression of LFA?1 in peripheral neutrophils was detected by flow cytometry in the two groups. Mean blood pressure(MBP)was measured in the severe preeclamptic group, and the correlation of MBP with expression of LFA?1 was analyzed. Results The neutrophil count was 8.40±2.23 ×109/L in the severe pre?eclamptic group, significantly higher than(6.71±1.58)×109/L in the control group,(P<0.05). The positive rate of LFA?1 in peripheral neutrophils was 63.25±38.025%in the severe preeclamptic patients, significantly higher than 8.32±38.65%in the control group(P<0.05). The expression lev?el of LFA?1 in peripheral neutrophils was significantly correlated with mean blood pressure in severe preeclamptic patients(r=0.64,P=0.013). Conclusion The neutrophil count and the expression of LFA?1 in peripheral neutrophils were significantly increased in severe preeclamptic pa?tients compared to normal pregnant women, and significantly correlated with severity of preeclampsia, suggesting that neutrophil activation participat?ed in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.

Objective To investigate the acute toxicity, subacute toxicity, nasal membrane local toxicity of the Magnolia biondii Pamp volatile oil nanometer bangosome. Methods Kunming mice and SD rats were selected as experimental material. Kunming mice were used in the acute and subacute toxicity tests by intragastric administration of Magnolia biondii Pamp volatile oil nanometer bangosome with different dosage and different time, and SD rats were used in the nasal membrane local toxicity test by nose dropping, while the control group was treated with intragastric administration of or nose dropping with normal saline for the same dosage. The treatment course lasted fifteen days. At the end of the tests, the general condition, routine blood test, function index of live and kidney, organ humid weight index, histological changes of liver and kidney and ultra microstructure change of rat nasal membrane were obtained and compared with the control group. Results In the acute toxicity test, the daily maximum tolerant dosage by intragastric administration was equal to 222.7 times of the clinical routine, with no marked toxic reaction. In the subacute toxicity test, the general condition, blood test, organ humid weight index and histological changes of live and kidney in different dosage groups were similar to the control group. While in the function index of live and kidney, uric acid was stepped down in the middle and large dose groups, and total bilirubin was decreased in the large dose group. The nasal membrane local toxicity test revealed that there was little change in the ultra microstructure of rat nasal membrane. Conclusion The Magnolia biondii Pamp volatile oil nanometer bangosome may have little toxicity by intragastric administration and nose dropping.
