Tne secondary injury may occur in the perihematomal tissue after intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH).Studies have suggested that apoptosis palys an important role in the secondary injury after intracerebral hemorrhage.1he inhibition of apoptosis may significantly improve the neurological deficit after ICH.

OBJECTIVE:To study whether Radix Inulae can replace Radix Aristolochiae as medicinal material.METHO_ DS:Comparison was made between Radix Inulae and Radix Aristolochiae in terms of plant resources,functions and indications,chemical compositions,pharmacologic actions,clinical applications,etc.by reviewing literature.RESULTS&CONCLUSIONS:Radix Inulae and Radix Aristolochiae were different in every aspect,thus the two can’t be replaced by each other as medicinal material.

Pregnant women with subacute thyroiditis (SAT) are rare.One case was reported and the clinical features and management principles of SAT during pregnancy were reviewed.In pregnant women with SAT,the illness is usually not serious.If subclinical or clinical hypothyroidism develops,L-T4 must be given and thyroid function be monitored routinely,and the medication be adjusted carefully to ensure the maternal-fetal safety.

Objective:To observe the effects of rosiglitazone on transforming growth factor-?1(TGF-?1)/SMADs signal pathway in dia- betic rat myoeardium(DM)and cardiac remodeling. Methods:Thirty male SD rats were randomly divided into normal control,DM and rosiglitazone groups,each having 10 rats.Diabetic rats were induced by a single intrapefitoneal injection of streptozotoein(60mg/kg).A cannula connected to a trans- ducer was inserted into the heart to measure the cardiac function.The body weight,heart weight and heart weight/body weight (HW/BW)were measured.The ultrastruetural changes were evaluated by electron microscope and collagen content was assessed by Van Gieson staining.The mRNA expression level of SMAD3 and SMAD7 were determined by RT-PCR.The protein level of TGF-?1,SMAD3 and SMAD7 were detected by immunohistochemistry. OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of microRNA-129(miR-129)expression on malignant phenotypes of esophageal squamous cell cancer(ESCC) cells and its possible molecular mechanisms. METHODS The constructed miR-129-overexpressed vector (pGCMV/EGFP/miR-129) and negative control vector (pGCMV/EGFP/miR-NC) were stably transfected into ESCC cell lines (Eca109 and EC9706),respectively. Quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)was performed to detect the expression of miR-129. MTT and flow cytometry(FCM)assays were performed to analyze the effects of miR-129 on proliferation, cell cycle and apoptosis of ESCC cells. Furthermore,a luciferase reporter vector with the putative B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2)3′-untranslated region(pLUC/Bcl-2-3′-UTR-wt and pLUC/Bcl-2-3′-UTR-mut)was constructed to explore whether Bcl-2 was a direct target gene of miR-129 by detecting luciferase activity. Next,Western blotting was performed to detect the expression of Bcl-2, cleaved caspase 3 and total caspase 3 proteins. RESULTS Overexpression of miR-129 significantly inhibited proliferation(P<0.01),induced cell arrest in G0/G1 phase(P<0.05)and enhanced apoptosis (P<0.05)in ESCC cells. Luciferase reporter assay indicated that Bcl-2 was identified as a direct target gene of miR-129. Results of Western blotting showed that overexpression of miR-129 significantly reduced the expression of Bcl-2 protein and increased the expression of cleaved caspase 3 protein,but induced no changes in total caspase 3 protein in ESCC cells. CONCLUSION miR-129 functions as a tumor suppressor in ESCC cells by targeting Bcl-2 gene. Therefore,miR-129 will be a potential molecular target for the treatment of human ESCC.

SWI/SNF is an ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex .ARID1 A gene is an important subunit of SWI/SNF complex and its dysfunction can cause abnormal chromatin remodeling , resulting in tumorigenesis .AR-ID1A occurs frequently low expression or deletion mutation in a variety of malignant tumors , such as ovarian canc-er, liver cancer, breast cancer, stomach cancer, lung cancer and so on, which indicates that ARID1A is an impor-tant tumor suppressor gene .

In the past few years,it has been disclosed that identified epigenetic processes and epigenetic changes are involved in human diseases.Disorders of these processes may influence chromatin structure and gene expression,which may result in complicated syndroms,multiple-factor diseases and cancers. The researchprogress of epigenetic processes of several diseases is reviewed in this paper.

Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal cocoon. Methods The clinical data of 16 patients with abdominal cocoon were analyzed retrospectively . Result All the 16 patients with abdominal cocoon were treated and confirmed by operation. Before operation, 11 patients were misdiagnosed as mechanical intestinal obstruction, 4 as chronic appendicitis, and 1 as abdominal tumor.All patients were operated on and postoperative complications were found in 2 patients. All patients were curred clinically and followed up for 1-10years. 2 patients were died of relapsing intestinal obstruction 1,5 years after operation. 2 occurred relapsing incomplete intestinal obstruction accompaning with malnutrition, 12 patients were good during the follow up period. Conclusions Preoperative diagnosis of abdominal cocoon is difficult. The diagnosis mainly depends on the upper gastrointestinal radiography, B-ultrasonography and CT. Removal of the membrane and releasing the intestine adhesions is an effective method in treating this disease.

Objective To investigate the way of gene therapy on congestive heart failure and other heart diseases. Methods Recombinant adeno associated viruses (AAV) encoding the human ? 2 adrenergic receptor(AR) and enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) were constructed and the ? 2 AR and EGFP cDNA were transfected in vitro to the neonate rat ventricular myocytes. The expression of ? 2 AR and EGFP on cultured neonate rat ventricular myocytes and the ability of ? 2 AR to potentiate the beta adrenergic signaling were assessed. Results The presence of human ? 2 AR mRNA was demonstrated by Northern blot, the expression of the ? 2 AR gene was demonstrated by Westernimmuno blot. The density of ? AR in the myocytes was greater than that in the control 〔(204.0 ? 6.4) fmol/mg protein vs (76.0 ? 2.8) fmol/mg protein〕 according to a ligand binding assay. Human ? 2 AR gene significantly increased isoproterenol stimulated cAMP as compared with the control〔(116.2?5.8) pmol/10 6 cell vs (58.4 ? 4.6) pmol/10 6 cell〕. EGFP was also expressed in the transfected cardiomyocytes. Conclusions Human ? 2 AR gene could be transfected into cardiomyocytes by AAV vector and could potentiate the beta adrenergic signaling.

Objective:To clone interleukin 4 cDNA of Tibet pig.Methods:To amplify cDNA,using RT PCR from the total RNA from the lymphocyte stimulated by 10 ?g/ml Con A in vitro,to subclone into pMD T vector,and then to determine it by digesting and sequencing.Results:The cloned Tibet pig interleukin 4 was 98% homologus to the necleotide acids of Chenghua pig a special specie of pig in Sichuan province and 99% homologus to that of hybrid of Landrance with Chanbai pig.Conclusion:IL 4 of Tibet pig was successfully cloned from the lymphocyte after stimulating 70 h with ConA.
