Glioma is a common tumor of the central nervous system. Tumor cells and tumor microvascular endothelial cells play a very important role in the development and progression of gliomas. Nogo protein is a kind of inhibitory protein in myelin sheaths of the central nervous system and an inhibitor of axonal regeneration in the central nervous system. This paper reviews the relationship between glioma cells and glioma microvascular endothelial cells.

OBJECTIVE: To standardize the management on test of hospital preparations to ensure the quality of preparations. METHODS: The Access database and Word application of in Microsoft Office automatic groupware were integrated organically using VBA programming, and the data management system suitable for hospital preparation test was designed. RESULTS: The print files of various primary records and reports related to testing work exhibited beautiful page and uniformed format. Testing data of preparations were included into data base by computer recording, which facilitated data inquiry and data processing related to quality of hospital preparations. CONCLUSION: Due to this system, both the efficiency and quality of hospital preparation test work have been enhanced, which contributes to institutionalization and standardization of hospital preparation work.

OBJECTIVE: To determine Ginsenoside Rg1,Ginsenoside Re and Ginsenoside Rb1 in Yixin fumai granula by HPLC.METHODS: Samples were determined on a Diamond C18(150 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m).The mobile phase consisted of accetonitrile-water by gradient elution with flow rate at 1 mL?min-1,UV detection wavelength at 203 nm,column temperature at 25 ℃ and sample size at 10 ?L.RESULTS: The linear ranges of Ginsenoside Rg1,Ginsenoside Re and Ginsenoside Rb1 were 0.645～6.450 ?g(r=0.999 8),0.54～5.40 ?g(r=0.999 7) and 0.605～6.050 ?g(r=0.999 9),respectively;the average recoveries were 100.59%(RSD=2.03%),98.70%(RSD=1.46%)and 98.99%(RSD=1.19%),respectively.CONCLUSION: The method is sensitive,simple and accurate,and it can be used for the quality control of Yixin fumai granula.

Objective To explore the impact of burden,positive feelings,coping style and social support on caregivers' fatigue of dementia patients.Methods 190 caregivers of dementia patients were investigated by using the questionnaires of Caregivers Burden Inventory(CBI),Positive Aspects of Caregiving(PAC),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ),Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) and Fatigue Scale-14 (FS-14).Results The caregivers' fatigue of dementia patients was positively correlated with burden(r=0.56,P＜0.01),negative coping style(r=0.31,P ＜0.01),and negatively associated with positive feelings(r=-0.33,P ＜0.01),social support (r =-0.36,P ＜ 0.01) and positive coping style (r---0.55,P ＜ 0.01),respectively.Path analysis showed coping style and social support had direct impacts on fatigue; burden had a direct impact on fatigue,and also had an indirect influence on it through coping style or social support; fatigue might be decreased by positive feelings and increased by negative coping style.Conclusion To prevent and relieve the caregivers'fatigue of dementia patients,caregivers should be encouraged to take positive coping style and increase social support so as to reduce burden and increase positive feelings.

Objective To investigate prognostic factors for bloodstream infection in adult patients. Methods Clinical data of 131 adult patients with positive blood cultures during January 2002 to December 2003 in the Hospital were collected and 91 cases of them were retrospectively analyzed to understand their pathogen species and prognostic factors for it.Results Blood samples from 91 patients were cultured positive,53 cases(58.2%)with gram-negative bacteria mainly including Escherichia coli,Salmonella spp. and Klebsiella pneumoniae,28(30.8%)with gram-positive bacteria,mainly including Staphylococcus aureus and coagnlase-negative Staphylococci,eight(8.8%)with fungi and two(2.2%)with multiple infections.Case fatality ratio in this group of patients with septicemia was 30.8% during their hospitalization,and that in those with Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Staphylococcus aureus,Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and E.coli with extended-spectrum beta-lactamase was over 50%.Case fatality ratio was associated with severity of sepsis(OR=1.15)and inappropriately initial empirical treatment with antibiotics (OR=6.77).Conclusions Pathogen causing bloodstream infection in adults were mainly gram-negative bacteria and severity of infection and inappropriate initial antibiotics treatment could increase their fatality.

Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of topical anesthesia,conscious sedation and intravenous anesthesia during endoscopic varices ligation(EVL).Methods Patients underwent EVL were divided into 3 groups to receive different anesthetic methods,namely topical anesthesia,conscious sedation and intravenous anesthesia,with 50 subjects in each group.The changes of vital signs,the tolerance to stimulation of the procedure,the time of operation,the rate of complication were recorded and compared between 3 groups.Results The procedure of EVL were completed in all patients.In topical anesthesia group,40(80%)patients had nausea and vomiting,9 cases(1 8%)tried to pull out the endoscopy.The mucosa at the entrance of the esophagus were injured in 10 cases(20%).Massive bleeding occurred in 4 patients(8%)during operation because of nausea and vomiting.In conscious sedation group,only 7 patients(14%)had mild nausea and vomiting,and no complication of variceal bleeding occurred.The mucosa at the entrance of the esophagus was injured in 5 cases(10%).In intravenous anesthesia group,no patient had nausea or vomiting.The respiratory rate,heart rate and mean artery pressure decreased during the procedure,but without significant difference(P＞0.05).The operation time in intravenous anesthesia group WaS shorter than that in other two groups,but without significant difference(P＞0.05).Conclusion EVL can be completed under 3 different anesthetic methods,while EVL under conscious sedation is more effective and safe.
