Background: The leading cause of death in under 16 years old children is by accident. A correct assessment for traumatic severity will help clinicians having an appropriate treatment and improving pediatric mortality. Objectives: To assess the prognostic validity of indicators Pediatric Trauma Score (PTS), Coma Glassgow Scale (CGS) and Revised Trauma Score (RTS) during short term for pediatric trauma. Subjects and method: Using the 3 indicators to evaluate traumatic severity in 92 patients (34 female, 58 male) at the age of 1 month olds to 15 year olds, treated in emergency unit from January, 1993 to May, 1994 in CHRU de Lille. Results: There are 2 main accidents as traffic accident (70%) and fall (25%). Traumatic mechanisms are closed trauma (69%), cranial trauma (80%), orthopedic trauma (33%), chest trauma (18%), abdominal trauma (21%). CGS indicator is more sensitive but less specific than the other two indicators. Its predictive validity is significantly higher than the validity of PTS or RTS. The probability of hospitalized patients with CGS<6, when discharging with complication is 100%. Conclusion: CGS indicator and improvement of it is appropriate to children. It is the most suitable in short-term predicting the possibility of complications. PTS and RTS indicators seem to be better on evaluating preliminary traumatic severity.

20 patients with vascular lesion due to trauma diagnosed by the angiography in ViÖt §øc hospital in 1998. The position of lesions included the popliteal artery (8), femoral artery (4), iliac artery (3), subclavian artery (1), bronchial artery (1), and the arteries in the leg (3). The generalization of some comments about the role of imaging examination in diagnosis of renal trauma as non-preparative adominal tomography: has less value in diagnosis of renal trauma but helps to detect metanephric duct stone. Intravenous urography (UIV): these imagings are main to evaluate the rest of renal function, prevention of cases of traumatic renal excision, has less value in diagnosis of renal trauma. Adominal ultrasound: to detect suggestive signs of internal haemorrhage due to solid viscera breaking in abdomen. CT scan has an important role, to help identifying with or without renal trauma, the level of renal lesions, with or without other viscera lesions. Renal angiography: to block selectively vessels to make haemostatic in some cases of haemorrhage due to renal trauma. MRI is recommended for patients with contraindication of absolute using contrast media

At Ha Noi, Dong Da Hospital from June 1999 to September 2002, 17 patients aged 15-60 years old (13 males, 4 females) were diagnosed injured chronical peripediculitis by clinical signs and dental X ray local image. Contusion causes occured with higher rate, 13/17 patients (76.5%) have had occlusion conlusion, mainly in 15-24 years old range 10/17 patients (58.8%). Contusion causes injury mainly occured in incisirus teeth 13/17 patients (76.5%). After 3 months treatment in 2/17 patients (11.8%) injured lesions were healed.

A retrospective study was conducted concerning the analysis of data. Trauma were classified according to Moore'standard and the locations of the wound were identified according to T«n ThÊt Tïng. To diagnose, ultrason was used commonly. Most of cases were treated surgically and the technique were described in details. Mortality was 13.13% and the complications comprised of hemorrhagia, under diaphragm abscess, bile perforation, pleuresia, infection of the wound and renal failure

Some remarks on the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of lung-pleural wound with hematothorax and pneumothorax. The study was carried out retrospectively (60 patients) and prospective (20 patients) on lung-pleural wound with hematothorax and pneumothorax at the Department of Field Surgery in Military Hospital 103 during 1990-2001. Results showed that:- 50% of patients were admitted to hospital with shock, mainly shock of slight and average level.-Clinical characteristics were thoracodynia in wounded side (100%), dyspnea (83.75%), respiratory murmur decrease (100%).- Thoraci radiography showed clear image of hematothorax and pneumothorax in 90.5% of patients. – In 100% patients with ultrusound method, blood was identified in pleural cavity

Trauma-related spigelian hernia is a rare event that has been reported only sporadically. Because of its rare nature and nonspecific physical findings, its diagnosis is difficult. This hernia most commonly presents at the level of the semicircular line known as the arcuate line. A 70-year-old man was admitted after overturn of his cultivator. A scratch wound surrounding a cutaneous sign of the cultivator handlebar impact was evident on his right upper abdominal wall. Trauma-related spigelian hernia occurred in the site of the handlebar impact. We report this cases of trauma-related spigelian hernia that was treated by primary repair with a brief review of the literature.

We studied the contents of referral sheets of the patients transferred to DMC Emergency Center from Jan 1, 1999 to Jan 31, 1999. The study far the completion and chief complaints in the referral sheets shows the followings. 1. Examining the referral sheets status of disease, name and age record of 5 major items grade 0.92, the highest point, examining item and laboratorial record grade 0.72, dignosis record grades 0.38, and patients condition and diagnosis opinion record grade 0.10. 2, Name and age item had high completion score in referral sheets from local clinic and hospital for secondary referral level. For address item, however, local clinic scored 0.63 and hospital for secondary referral level scored 0.28, which showed statistically significant difference(P<0.001). 3. In the aspect of severity, name and age record leveled 0.94 to the non emergency patient, 0.92 to the emergency patient, 0.91 urgent patient, showed and no statistic significant difference. 4. The major 10 symptoms of the complaints were these the pain of abdomen and pelvis(25.2%), somnolence and stupor, coma(13.6%), headache(10.9%), and open wound of head(4.0%), ranked 10th common symptom level.
