In evaluating the esophago-gastric junction, many difficulties are well known in a single contrast study, andit may often be resolved with double contrast technique. By double contrast technique, the special en face viewfor the esophago-gastric junction was obtained in 298 cases at Inje Medical College Paik Hospital from Jan. 1981 to June 1981. Five basic patterns were recognized and classifed from type I to V. Their incidences were obtained.-type I ; 18%, type II; 50%, type III; 23% type IV ; 7%, type V; 2%. The most common position of patients is left lateral, and zero degree is the most common at elevation of fluoroscopic table. Type III is the most common typeof the esophage-gastric junction in inspiration, and type I expiration. Any significant deviations from thesenormal geometry of the esophago-gastric junction as displayed by double contrast study, indicate an abnormality.More special attentions are required to evaluate a minute pathologic condition of the esophago-gastric junction.

PFASs are used in the production of disposable food packages, aircraft and automobile devices, cooking utensils, outdoor gear, furniture and carpets, aqueous film forming foam (AFFF), cables and wires, electronics, and semiconductors. The clinical study was performed to 28 patients with the pericardiac effusion who were admitted in Busan university Hospital and Paik Hospital, In-Je Medical College, Busan, korea during March 1976 and July 1981. The results were as following; 1) 12 cases(42.9%) of total 28 pericardiac effusion occured in 3rd decade, 8(28.5%) in 2nd decade and 5 cases(17.9%) in 4th decade. Sex distribution showed male to female 2.5:1. 2) With etiological distribution there were 15 cases(53.6%) tuberculous, 5(17.9%) nonspecific, 3(10.7%) malignant, 2(7.1%) pyogenic, 2 traumatic and 1(3.6%) rheumatic. 3) On admission 28 cases(100%) complained of dyspnea, 24(85.7%) distant heart sound, 20(71.4%) each engorged jugular vein and edema, 18(64.3%) each cough and abdominal fullness, 17(60.7%) each sputum and chest discomfort and pain, 12(42.9%) fever, 11(39.1%) orthopnea, 10(35.7%) chilling, 7(25%) oliguria, 4(14.6%) palpitation and 3(17.2%) headache. Increased cardiac dullness was observed in 26 cases(71.4%), hepatomegaly 18(64.3%), pulmonary rales 17(60.7%), ascites 13(46.1%), fever 12(42.9%), pericardiac friction rub 10(35.7%), splenomegaly 7(25%), paradoxical pulse 6(21.4%) and jaundice 2(7.1%). 4) On amission SGOT and SGPT level was increased each in 15(53.6%) and 13(46.7%), TTT and CCF abnormal in 10(35.7%), and 8(28.5%), serum NPN, BUN, creatinine increased in each 10(35.7%), 11(39.1%), 8(28.5%), WBC increased in 6(21.4%), RBC decreased in 8(28.5%) and ESR increased in 16(57.1%). 5) Characteristics of pericardiac effusion showed hemorrhagic 17(60.7%), serosangeous 6(21.4%), sangeous 3(17.2%) and pyogenic 2 cases(7.1%). 6) The ECG on admission revealed low voltage in 25(89.1%), depressed ST segment in 13(46.1%) and inverted T wave in 12(42.9%). 7) Chest X-ray showing cardiomegaly 28(100%), pleural effusion in 20(71.4%), and pulmonary congestion in 16(57.1%). 8) The m mode and 2-D Echocardiogram showed echo free space in 28 cases and after pericardiocentesis the space was reduced or disappeared. 9) 19 cases of 28(67.5%) were improved clinically, while 5 cases(17.9%) were not improved and 4 cases(14.6%) died.

For the purpose of elucidating relation between red cell electrolyte concentrations and serum digoxin level, measurement of red cell electrolyte concentrations and seum digoxin level by radioimmunoassay were done in 46 normal controls and 63 patients of CHF including 8 patients with digitalis intoxication. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Red cell sodium concentration and ratio of red cell sodium to red cell potassium concentration in normal males were significantly higher than those of females, and red cell potassium concentration in normal males was significantly lower than that of normal females. 2. Red cell potassium concentration in patients of CHF was significantly higher than that of normal controls, but there was no difference in the red cell sodium concentration between the groups. 3. There was no relation between red cell electrolyte concentrations and serum digoxin level, and red cell electrolyte concentration did not exactly estimate serum digoxin level. 4. Red cell electrolyte concentrations in the patient of CHF were valuable in detecting digitalis toxicity.

The purpose of this study was to develop, implement and evaluate a nutrition education program for middle aged men at a worksite. To be read easily, induce interest, and selected at need, seven 6-page leaflet aets were developed, which was the most preferable from chosen by the subjects. The contents of leaflet set were [Changing life style], [Good food habit],[Weight control and diet],[Cardiovascualr disease and diet], [Alimentary disease and diet],[Diaabetes and diet],and [Liver disease and diet]. Nutrition education was provided for 61 middle aged men(30 professors, 31 office workers) at a worksite from 40 mins to one hour. And the level of nutrition knowledge and nutrition attitude were tested to evaluate the effects of the nutrition education program with a developed leaflet set before and after nutrition education. After the nutrition deucation. the nutrition knowledge score had increased significantly at p<0.001, from average 9.3 point to 11.4 point. The level of nutrition knowledge was increased significantly at p<0.001, and the prevalence of misconceptions and the uncertainty of knowledge were decreased significantly at p<0.05. There was a significant difference between professors and office workers both before and after the program. Also, there was a significant increase in the attitude about nutrition score after the program and this means that the subjects were flexibly more open minded about nutrition than before(from 39.9 point, at p<0.001). The difference in the nutrition attitude score between professors and office workers was not significant both before and after the nutrition deucation. The developed leaflet set was evaluated very positively in understanding, interest, timing, and usage by the subjects.
