1.The Affinity of Calmodulin-Affigel for Inositol Triphosphate Kinase From Bovine Brain.
Yeungnam University Journal of Medicine 1990;7(1):39-50
The one event on signaling mechanism is the cleavage by adenyl cyclase of ATP into second messenger, cyclic AMP. The other transfer system of inositol metabolism, it is widely recognized that hydrolysis of the minor membrane lipid phosphoinositide bisphosphate (PIP₂) initiated by occupation of certain receptors and catalyzed by phospholipase C, lead to toe generation of the two intracellular messengers, inositol triphosphate (IP₃) and diacylglycerol (DG). IP₃ is converted to inositol tetrakisphosphate (IP₄) by IP₃ kinase. In the present study, it is that purification of calmodulin is used by phenyl-Sepharose CL-4B chromatography, it's molecular weigh, 17,000 in SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. In order to observe the affinity between calmodulin (CaM)-Affigel 15 and IP₃ kinase, and isolated IP₃ kinase, was applied in CaM-Affigel with Ca²⁺ equilibrium buffer and EGTA equilibrium buffer. We compared with binding and elution effect of IP₃ kinase in several condition of buffer. In affinity of binding, Ca²⁺ equilibrium buffer was in the most proper condition, and elution, CaM/Ca²⁺buffer (CE 1 10.36, CE2 12.76pM/min/mg of protein) was effected much more than EGTA buffer (E2 1.48, E 2.43pM/min/mg of protein), but CaM/Ca²⁺stimulate the activity of IP₃ kinase. And then, several detergents such as sodium deoxycholate, tween 20, cholic acid, polyethylene glycol, chaps were applied. The 0.2% chaps buffer (E2 23.19, E3 8.05pnM/min/mg of protein) was the most effective in elution of IP3 kinase.

2.A Case of Malignant Duodenocolic Fistula Diagnosed by Endoscopy.
Korean Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 1989;9(2):203-205
The occurrence of a fistula between the duodenum and the colon is very rare, although these two structures commonly lie in intimate relationship to each other. It is not uncommon for tumor of the right colon and proximal transverse colon to involve the duodenum by continuity, but fistulous connection between the duodenum and colon are infrequent In most of the reported malignant cases, the fistulas follow carcinomas of the transverse colon or the hepatic flexure of the colon. We report a rare case of malignant duodenocolic fistula which was first suspected by endoscopic examination and confirmed by operation.

3.Clinical Study of Gonorrhea: VI . Comparison of Kanamycin with Fortified Penicillin G in the Treatment of Male Gonorrhoea.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1983;21(3):273-277
Although penicillin still remains the drug of choice in the treatment of gonorrhoea in many countries, treatment failures are becoming more and more coramon. Recently, the prohlem cauaed, by antibiotic resistant strains of N. gnorrhoeae has been aggravated by appearance of penicillinase producing N. gonorrheeae. Good results were reported with the use of spectinomycin, cefuroxime and efotaxime. These drugs are, as yet, quite expensive. A lower cost regimen has to be sought. In this study, the effect of fortified penicillin G was compared with kanarnycin in the treatment of uncomplicated male gonorrhoeae. The subjects were 446 rnale patients with uncomplieated gonocoacal urethritis at VD clinic of ChoongKu Public Health Center in Seoul between June and November, 1981. The patients are assigned randomly to one of the regimens. Among 181 patients treated with kanamycin, 2. 0 gm, IM, 148 recovered with 27 (19%) postgonococcal urethritis (PGU) and 39(21,6%) failed. Among 168 patients treated with fortified penicillin G, 6 mega-units IM, plus probenecid, l. 0 gm, PO., 100 recovered with 31(81%) PGU and 68(40. 5%) failed. -countinue-

4.A Clinical Observation on Male Sterility.
Korean Journal of Urology 1968;9(4):195-200
In order to grasp the real status of male sterility of the Koreans, clinical observation, semen analysis, and testicular biopsy were conducted on 257 cases. the study was performed in the Department of Urology, Kyungpook National University School of Medicine during the period from April 1963 to March 1968 for5 years. 1) The 257 cases complained of sterility occupied 4.3% of the total number of outpatients, 5927. visited during the observation period. 2) The age range of the cases applied was from 55, maximum, to 21. minimum, with the category of 26 to 35 occupying 2/3 of the whole. 3) The majority of the cases were in the 2nd to 5th year of their marriages 10.8%. 4) Cities were found to produce more of such cases than the country. and no specific relationship was revealed to be connected with patient's occupations. 5) Tuberculous diseases weremore prevalent in the past histories of those involved, and gonorrhea and mumps showed a decreasing tendency. 6) 141 cases (55.2%) produced 2 to 4ml of semen amount and 40 cases, less than 1.0ml. 7) 90 cases (35.O%) were found have azoospermia and 122 cases (47.7%) had more than 50 X 10(6) sperms, 8) 106 cases (63.5%) had higher than 60% of active sperm while 16 cases showed to have less than 20%. 9) Findings of testicular biopsies were conducted on 35 cases with azoospermia of oligospermia: Germinal cell aplasia-17 cases (48.6%); spermatogenic arrest-10 cases (28.6%); hypospermatogenesis-6 cases (17.1%); normal-2 cases.

5.Clinical Study of Gonorrhea: VIII. Comparison of Kanamycin Sulfate with Fortified Penicillin G on the Treatment of Uncomplicated Male Gonorrhoea caused by Penicillinase Negative Neisseria Gonorrhoeae.
Sung Woo HONG ; Joong Hwan KIM
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1984;22(1):3-9
In this study, the effect of kanamycin sulfate was compared with fortified penicillin G in the treatment of uncomplicated penicillinase negative Neisseria gonorrhoeae(nonPPNG) urethritis in male. The subjects were 250 male patients with uncomplicated non-PPNG urethritis, at the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-ku Public Health Center in Seoul from May 1982 to August 1982. Among 103 patients treated with kanamycin sulfate, 2.0 gm, IM, 92 recovered and 11(10. 7%) failed. Among 100 patients treated with fortified penicillin G, 6 megaunits IM, plus probenecid, l.0 gm, 92 recovered and 8(8%) failed. No significant difference in the effect was found between these two regimens for non-PPNG urethritis. It is concluded that kanamycin sulfate as well as fortified penicillin G. have a good effect in the treatment of non-PPNG urethritis.

6.Unusual Type of Talar Body Fracture: A Case Report
The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1989;24(6):1750-1753
Fractures of the body of the talus are extremely rare, constituting only about 0.1 percent of all fractures (Coltart 1952). Consequently, the prognostic problems have so far been elucidated only on the basis of few reports in the literature. The authors experienced an unusual type of the shearing fracture of the talar body with total disocation that the talar body was lying upside down in the ankle joint. Satisfactory results were obtained after follow up period of 20 months and some are reporting this case with bibliographic reviews.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 2004;50(3):209-211
Leiomyomas are the most common benign tumors of the uterus, and although they can occur at any site in the genitourinary tract, they very rarely originate from the urinary bladder. We report a case in which a leiomyoma occurred at that site, deseribing the US, CT, and MRI findings.
