2.Clinical Experience of Hemodialysis on Three Cases of Renal Failure using Kill Type Artificial Kidney.
Korean Journal of Urology 1970;11(2):63-70
Hemodialysis using Kiil type artificial kidney was performed on two cases of acute renal failure and a case of chronic renal failure and the following results were obtained: 1. A case of acute renal failure recovered from her deteriorated renal function following four consecutive hemodialyses and another following a single hemodialysis of six hours. 2. A case of chronic renal failure is now stabilized clinically and maintained on ambulatory intermittent long-term hemodialysis.

3.Two Cases of Yersinia Pseudotuberculosis Infection with Acute Renal Failure in Pusan Province.
Journal of the Korean Society of Pediatric Nephrology 1998;2(2):187-191
The usefulness of E-cadherin immunostaining as a marker of malignancy in the body fluids was investigated in the present study. Thirty-three histologically proven cases of cell blocks from the pleural, peritoneal, and pericardial fluids were studied by immunocytochemistry for E-cadherin antibody using LSAB method. These cases were cytologically diagnosed as adenocarcinoma (25 cases) and atypical cells (8 cases). Tumor cells showed strong positive membranous staining for E-cadherin antibody in 21 out of 25 cases (84%) of adenocarcinoma. E-cadherin staining was not found in 6 of 8 cases of suspicious maligancy. The sensitivity and specificity were 84% and 75%, respectively. Reactive mesothelial cells and inflammatory cells scattered were all negative. In conclusion, E-cadherin is an useful adjunctive marker to distinguish reactive mesothelial cells from the carcinoma cells in the body fluids.

4.Two Cases of Penile Carcinoma Transformed from Giant Condyloma Acuminata.
Korean Journal of Urology 1970;11(2):83-87
The incidence of giant condyloma acuminata of the penis is extremely rare. Although they are considered clinically malignant, the real possibility of malignant changes from them are controversial even among the investigators but cannot be entirely overlooked. Therefore, attention must be focused on this fact, in our conclusion. Two cases of malignancy of the penis which have apparently been transformed from giant condyloma acuminata of the penis are herein presented with review of related literatures. Case I: Sixty nine year old male patient complained of a fungating mass on the sulcus coronaris of the penis with ulceration and bleeding from the mass. Biopsy confirmed giant condyloma acuminata and subsequently circumcision and electrocoagulation were performed. Pathological specimen taken after 4 months because of the recurrence of the mass on the same region showed squamous cell carcinoma of the penis and amputation of penis was performed. Case II: Sixty eight old male patient complained of a growing mass and pain on glans penis. This patient also underwent circumcision and electrocoagulation according to the biopsy finding of giant condyloma acuminata. But 1 year later with recurrence of the mass on the same region, the pathological finding revealed squamous cell carcinoma of penis.

5.A Case of 5 alpha-reductase Deficiency in Infancy.
Journal of Korean Society of Pediatric Endocrinology 1998;3(1):96-101
5 alpha-reductase deficiency resulting in male pseudohermaphroditism is a rare disease characterized by clitoral-like phallus, bifid scrotum, urogenital sinus, testis cited in labioscrotal folds. Evaluation of plasma T/DHT ratios in infancy, particularly after hCG stimulation of the testes and elevated urinary tetrahydrocortisol (THF) to 5 alpha-tetrahydrocortisol(5 alpha-THF) ratios provide a valuable dianostic test for 5 alpha-reductase deficiency. We report one case of 5 alpha-reductase deficiency who were presented with ambiguous genitalia and elevated T/DHT ratio before and after hCG stimulation.

6.Innovation of Punch Elevation for Surgery of Acne, Pox & Artophic Scars by Purse-String suture.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1998;36(2):286-290
BACKGROUND: Punch grafts and punch elevation can be useful for the correction of deep pitting or round atrophic acne scars. The traditional punch elevation technique gives inadequete results. Even round scars leave a retraction space and do not always heal well. OBJECTIVES & METHODS: To improve the cosmetic results of traditional punch elevation and thus promote the use of punch elevation instead of punch grafting, we performed punch elevation with purse-string sutures on 10 patients with acne, pox & atrophic scars. We performed dermabrasion or CO2 laserbrasion after 8 weks. RESULTS: Nicely fit margins of the punch elevation site with purse-string suture left no retraction spaces and enhanced the aesthetic results. CONCLUSION: Punch elevation is a simple, satisfactory method of improving cosmetic results in scars. The Purse-string suture technique can make it a more valuable tool for surgery of facial scars, because it overcomes of disadvantages the punch elevation.

8.Surgical Treatment by Curettage and Dermatome in Two Cases of Giant Congenital Melanocytic Nevi.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1998;36(3):464-468
Giant congenital melanocytic nevi may lead to severe cosmetic and psychosocial problems. Another important problem is the relatively high potential to undergo malignant transformation. The management of congenital melanocytic nevi remains controversial as there is no universal agreement. We report two cases of giant congenital melanocytic nevi which were removed by curettage and dermatomes. There is relatively less intra and postoperative morbidity using these methods than with other treatment modalities. They were also considered as acceptable surgical methods and there are potentially more pleasing cosmetic results.
