Analysis and determination of the content of four active factors of Vitamin E in Malva rotundifolia oilwere carried out by normal and reverse phase HPLC. The retention mechanism on the normal and reversephase columns of the four active factors was studied.

Stroke is a type of neurological disease with high morbidity,disability,and mortality.It has become a global public health problem.At present,the stroke burden in countries around the world has shown an upward trend.This article reviews the extent of population health hazards caused by stroke,as well as the evaluation of economic burden of the disease.

Objective To evaluate the applicability and effectiveness of the model for managing patients with convulsive epilepsy in rural China.Methods The model is under leadership of the government departments and medical institutions at all levels organized primary physicians for treatment and management.People with convulsive epilepsy in 24 rural areas were screened by local physicians and confirmed by neurologists.Patients diagnosed with convulsive epilepsy and agreed with managing were recruited into study.They were managed at primary care level and provided with phenobarbital monotherapy.Efficacy was assessed from the changes in seizure frequencies from baseline.Results There were 408 town hospitals and 979 trained primary care physicians participating in our study.Five thousand and thirty-eight patients were enrolled in 2 years,and 90％ patients with good compliance.Among the people who were treated with phenobarbital monotherapy,3 170 were managed for 12 months,and 2 005 (63.3％) of whom had a 50％ or greater reduction in seizure frequency and 1 246 (39.3％)patients remained seizure free;651 patients were managed for 24 months,and 491 (75.4％) of whom had a 50％ or greater reduction in seizure frequency and 202(31.0％)patients remained seizure free.Three hundred and forty-three (6.8％) patients withdrew from the study,and only 35 (0.7％) patients discontinued treatment because of side effects.Sixty-nine (1.4％) patients were dead and 8 (11.6％) of them were caused by status epilepticus.Conclusion This study confirms that this model is beneficial to patients with epilepsy and is suitable to the rural areas of China.

As a novel Golgi protein,GOLPH2 expression is associated with maintaining the structural integrity of the Golgi apparatus.As an oncoprotein,GOLPH2 expression is associated with malignant biological behavior of cancer cells.Important roles of GOLPH2 in the tumorigenesis and metastasis make it become a new target for tumor diagnosis and treatment.

It has recently been demonstrated that anti-angiogenesis drugs targeting every possible aspect of tumor angiogenesis effectively inhibit the growth, invasion and metastasis of breast cancer with low sideeffects and drug resistance. These types of anti-angiogenesis drugs have become a hotspot in the field of breast cancer research.

Objective To look into the effects of community intervention measures on blood pressure and hypertension control of the population.Methods Two geographic separated urban communities with the population about 50 000 each were selected as either intervention or control communities in Beijing in 1996.In the intervention community,the primary and secondary prevention on high blood pressure were carried out.And the morbidity and mortality of stroke in both intervention and control populations were monitored.A baseline survey and evaluation re-survey were respectively conducted in 1997 and 2000 covering both intervention and control communities with a cluster random sample of about 800 persons each.Results In the baseline survey,there were no difference between intervention and control communities in six of seven variables including systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),prevalence of hypertension,rate of awareness,therapy,control with SBP 140 and DBP

Clinical symptoms,multi screeming characters and pathological features of 15 cases of FNH were analysed retrospectively.11 cases were treated by operation.The results showed that three quarters(12/15) of the patients were male.Only one third(5/15) of the patients were diagnosed as FNH according to multi screeming of B US,CT and MRI.There were no complications for the 11 cases after operation.The results indicated it is difficult to diagnose FNH only by multi screeming methods.Operation is the best option for the treatment of FNH.

Global Campaign Against Epilepsy conducted the Demonstration Project to improve epilepsy care in rural China from 2000 to 2004. The project involved 5 provinces and 2,455 patients with convulsive epilepsy using phenobarbital monotherapy. Forty percent of the patients were seizure free in one year and another 30% had their seizures decreased by over half. With the support of the central government, the project has currently been extended to cover 12 provinces with 11,000 patients. The long-term plan is to integrate epilepsy management into the existing primary health delivery system of China.

Objective\ Treatment of spondylolisthesis using freeze dried femoral ring allografts plus morselled cancellous autografts (called as composite cortical ring) by anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF). Methods\ Fourteen patients were treated by this procedure, there were six males and eight females. The age of the patients range from 40 to 56(average 46). Ten segments were of grade Ⅱspondylolisthesis, five segments were of gradeⅠ. Ten patients were treated with RF as internal fixation, four patients with short Harrington rod as internal fixation. Results\ The fusion rate and clinical results of ALIF were analyzed by comparing the findings on the X-ray films taken preoperatively and 6 months postoperatively as well as by JOA score. The fusion rate of 15 segments of 14 patients(two segments of 1 patient was fused) is 85.7%, the average improvement rate of JOA score is 73.3%at an average follow up of 26.6 months. Conclusion\ ALIF with composite cortical ring could successfully restore the spinal structure, maintain the interspace height distracted intraoperatively, obtain high fusion rate and excellent clinical results.\;

Objective To study automatic drawing on target therapy area based on MRI and CT imagings in order to get the precision less than 1 mm in HIFU treatment.Methods Based on MRI and CT imagings,automatic image was recognized and the frame was extracted by image processing and image segmentation,etc..Results The system of software we are studying can be effectively used to recognize medical automatic images and get target therapy areas' image drawings.Conclusion This system of software will be used in medical precise treatment systems,such as HIFU 3D Treatment Regional Planning System.
