Objective To investigate the the efficacy and safety of recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide (rhBNP) in the treatment of acute non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients with heart failure. Methods 80 patients with heart failure caused by acute non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction were chosen, they were divided into the observation group and control group based on a random number table, each group included 40 patients. The observation group were treated with intravenous injection of recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide, the control group were treated with intravenous nitroglycerin.vital signs, dyspnea, brain natriuretic peptide (BNP),associated hemodynamic changes and adverse reactions of two groups were compared before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate in observation group was 87.5% (35/40),which were significantly higher than 50.0% (20/40) of the control group, there were significant difference (x2 =13.09,P < 0.05).In the observation group, after treatment, the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and average hourly urine output were significantly higher than those of before treatment (t =26.40,3.22,all P < 0.05),and the brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) concentration levels were significantly lower than those of before treatment (t =14.11,all P < 0.05).The control group before and after treatment LVEF,BNP and changes in urine levels were not significantly. Conclusion In the treatment of heart failure caused by acute non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, the recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide (rhBNP) has significant effect, feasible and safe with few side effects, which has a high clinical value.

AIM:To research the absorption mechanism of aesculin across Caco-2 monolayer model.METHODS:The Caco-2 cell monolayers drug transport model was assigned to study the double transport mechanism of aesculin to explore the absorption of aesculin according as time and drug concentration determined through HPLC and the P_ app was calcalated.RESULTS:In the Caco-2 monolayer model, the transport of aesculin form Apical to Basolateral was similar to the transport form basolateral to apical.CONCLUSION:The main mechanism of the aesculin intestinal absorption in the Caco-2 monolayer model is passive transference.

Objective To recognize the features of the ligamentum teres hepatic(LTH) in multi-slice spiral CT,and to preliminarily explore its clinical value. Methods A total of 130 patients without liver disease underwent abdominal scanning with a 16-slice spiral CT scanner.LTHs,as focused points, were observed by using postprocessing techniques such as multi-planar reformation(MPR),slab maximum intensity projection(slab-MIP) and slab volume rendering(slab-VR).Results The LTH was detected by multi-slice spiral CT in 90.8%(118/130).On these oblique-sagittal MPR,slab-MIP and slab-VR images,LTH presentedas slightly high density smooth cord-like structure in accordance with its anatomical morphology and position. The mean diameter of fissure portion of normal LTH was(5.44?0.96) mm(range 3.2-7.2 mm) measured at its middle region, and that of free portion of normal LTH was(3.43?0.91) mm(range 1.6-6.0 mm). Conclusions Multi-slice spiral CT demonstrates the LTH clearly, and has a potentialto evaluate the LTH before abdominal operation in which the LTH is to be used as an autogenous repairmaterial.

A low calcium medium developed for epidermal keratinocytes were prepared according to the MCDB 153 modified formula and used in human epidermal keratinocyte culture compared with DMEM culture system. The observation by contrast microscopy and electron microscopy showed that in the low calcium medium keratinocytes grew as a monolayer of high proliferation and had many characteristics of basal cells, with a more rounded shape and large intercellular spaces. Increasing the calcium ion concentration in the medium or changing the other culture conditions the cells in these cultures could be induced stratification and terminal differentiation. The results suggest that the growth, proliferation and differentiation of cultured human epidermal keratinocytes can be controlled and regulated someway.

BACKGROUND: Olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation is a better theray for spinal cord injury, and it becomes one of the most promising treatment methods. Local transplantation is applied currently, with the disadvantages of complex operation, large trauma, repeated transplantation. Looking for a simple and effective way for cell transplantation becomes a hotspot for scholars from various countries.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect and possibility of transplantation of olfactory ensheathing cells for treatment of spinal cord injury.METHODS: Wistar rats with T 10 spinal cord hemisecti on were divided into 4 groups: intramedullary local transplantation group (A),vein transplantation group (B), D/F12 transplantation group (C) and control group (D). The functional recovery of rats with spinal cord injury was observed with combined behavioral score at different phases. The tissue sections of each group were made at 5 and 10 weeks postoperatively to observe the axon regeneration and the survival of olfactory ensheathing cells.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The experiment showed that the rats transplanted with OECs at injured site and through the vein had more improvement in functional recovery and histological changes than the other two groups. The effect between A group and B group had not significant difference. The method of treating spinal cord injury by transplanting OECs via the vein not only simplifies the operation and avoids many complications but also has good curative effect similar to local transplantation.

Aim To establish an UPLC-ESI-MS method for determination of asiaticoside and investigate its application to pharmacokinetic study in rats. Methods Eight rats were given 40 mg·kg~(-1) asiaticoside iv respectively.Drug plasma concentration was determined by UPLC-ESI-MS.Pharmacokinetic parameters were evaluated. Results Calibration curves were linear over 0.038~7.6 mg·L~(-1) and LLOQ was 38 μg·L~(-1),the recoveries of asiaticoside from plasma were larger than 95%,and RSD of inter-day and intra-day assay were below 10%.After iv administration of 40 mg·kg~(-1) asiaticoside, the pharmacokinetic parameters of AUC(0-t),T(1)/(2)β,CL,Vd were (81 443.67±57 156.81) μg·L~(-1)·min~(-1),(23.44±9.60) min,(0.19±0.07) L·min~(-1)·kg~(-1),(8.92±6.68) L·kg~(-1),respectively.Conclusion The method described in this report was sensitive and specific, and suitable for pharmacokinetic studies of asiaticoside in rats.

Objective To evaluate the teaching effects of case introduced method based on picture archiving and communication system (PACS) system in medical imaging course. Methods Totally 148 students (2009 grade) majored in five-year clinical medicine from Xiangya Medical College were divided into 10 groups; the 10 groups were taken randomly as control group (n=75) and experimental group (n=73).Control group used traditional teaching methods (film teaching) while experimental group used case introduced method based on PACS system.Effects of teaching between were evaluated by questionnaire and test.x2 test was used to compare students' theoretical test scores, with α level =0.05.Results Based on results of questionnaires, more students in experimental group than in control group hold that case introduced method based on PACS system can achieve the purpose of teaching, improve interests in learning, and strengthen the mastery of knowledge.Test scores showed that the percentage of students scored 90-100 and 80-89 (respectively 14%,75%) in experimental group was significantly higher than that in control group (respectively 5%,66%) (x2 =17.932,P=0.000).Conclusions Application of case introduced method based on PACS system in medical imaging course not only improve students' motivation to learn and their clinical ability, but also allow teachers to find and correct shortcomings of students timely, therefore,it is worth promoting.
