1.THE EXPLORATION OF RELATIONSHIP OF MATERNAL NUTRITIONAL STATUS WITH THE FETAL DEVELOPMENTⅠ: THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTHER NUTRIENT INTAKE AND INFANT-BIRTH-WEIGHT
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
A nutritional survey of 101 uncomplicated primigravidas and the relationship between maternal diet and infant birth weight were investigated. The maternal intake of protein, calcium, riboflavin and retinol during the pregnancy was lower than the amount that RDA suggested especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. The intake of calories, fat, thiamine, riboflavin and nicotinic acid in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters were increased in compa-rision with the 1st. The correlation and stepwise regression analysis indicated that maternal intake of calories, protein, fat, carbohydrate, iron, calcium and riboflavin during pregnancy was significantly correlated to the birth weight.

Objective To investigate the relationship of carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT) and blood pressure variation in patients with prehypertension. Methods Three hundred and ninety-two patients were selected as our subjects. Artery IMT was measured by Doppler ultrasonography. All patients were divided into carotid artery IMT group( n = 204 ),not carotid artery IMT group( n = 188 ) based on carotid IMT. Meanwhile, all patients were monitored by ambulatory blood pressure. Results (1)The indices of 24 h mean systolic blood pressure, systolic blood pressure variability and diastolic blood pressure variability in patients of carotid artery IMT group were(136. 85 ± 9. 67)mmHg,(4. 13 ± 0. 67)% ,(2. 97 ± 0. 45)% respectively, higher than those of Not carotid artery IMT group((121. 92 ± 6. 54)mmHg,(2. 64 ± 0. 86)% ,(2. 06 ± 0. 36)% ;t = 21. 08,5. 97,3. 32;P < 0. 05).(2)The rate of the carotid artery thickness increased with systolic blood pressure variability increasing( P = 0. 001). There were no significant correlations between rate of the carotid artery thickness and diastolic blood pressure variability,24 h mean diastolic blood pressure(P = 0. 435, 0. 126). The IMT thickening rate was higher when the average systolic blood pressure was greater(P = 0. 013). (3)Regression analysis indicated that carotid artery IMT was positively related with systolic blood pressure variability,high-sensitivity C-reactive protein,24 h mean systolic blood pressure,2-hour postprandial blood glouse. Conclusion Carotid artery IMT is independently associated with variation of blood pressure, especially with systolic blood pressure variability in prehypertension patients.

Objective To investigate the association between postprandial triglyceride and the severity of coronary artery disease in patients with metabolic syndrome (MS). Methods AlI of 91 patients with MS were recruited for this study. Thirty-one patients with normal fasting and postprandial triglyceride was in MS1 group, 29 patients with normal fasting triglyceride and postprandial hypertrigtyceridemia was in MS2 group, and 31 patients with fasting hypertriglyeeridemia was in MS3 group. Blood triglyceride at the time of postprandial 4 hours was measured and the quantity of coronary artery branch disease was determined by coronary angiography. The relationship between them was analyzed. Result There was significant positive correlation between the quantity of coronary artery branch disease and the level of blood triglyceride at the time of postprandial 4 hours (r = 0.42, P < 0.01 ). Conclusions It is important to detect the level of blood triglyceride at the time of postprandial 4 hours. Prompt intervention maybe decrease the incidence and mortality rate of cardiovascular disease in patients with MS.

ObjectiveTo discuss two fixation methods of nasotracheal intubation on the occurrence of nasal pressure sores in patients with maxillofacial surgery.MethodsThree hundred cases of patients under general anesthesia more than 4 hours with the nasal endotracheal intubation were randomly assigned into control group and experiment group with 150 cases in each group. In control group, medical tape was used to fix the endotracheal tube to dorsum, wrapping around the joint of endotracheal tube and threaded pipe.In experiment group,Mepilex foam dressing was used to wrap over the bend of endotracheal tube, with gauze covering the joint of endotracheal tube and threaded pipe before fixing the endotracheal tube to dorsum. Finally, the occurrence of pressure sores from the end of surgery to postoperative 1day were compared between the two groups.ResultsThe incidence of patients with first stage pressure sores was 4.7% in control group while none in experiment group. The incidence of nasal pressure sores was much lower in experiment group than that in control group (P<0.05).ConclusionsThe use of Mepilex foam dressing can reduce the pressure and friction between the endotracheal tube and the dorsum, which effectively prevents nasal pressure sores caused by endotracheal intubation. Therefore when having surgery with nasal general anesthesia and nasotracheal intubation and lastsing over 4 hours, the use of application covering the bend of endotracheal tube can prevent nasal pressure sores.

Objective To assess the enhancement feature of intracranial atherosclerotic plaque in the vessel supplying the territory of infarction by using high-resolution MR imaging. To analyze the correlation between the degree of plaque enhancement , time elapsed and the concentration of hypersensitive C-reactive protein ( hs-CRP ).Methods The characteristics of vessel walls and intracranial vascular stenoses were retrospectively analyzed in 81 patients with ischemic strokes. All subjects were imaged with a traditional stroke MR protocol and HR-MRI scanning for plaque on a 3.0 T MRI scanner.According to the elapsed time between infarct and MR examination , all cases were classified into early stage (<4 weeks from acute stroke, n=58), middle stage (4-12 weeks, n=13) and late stage ( >12 weeks, n=10).The characteristics of vessel walls and degrees of enhancement of atherosclerotic plaques were assessed and the concentrations of hs-CRP in all patients were determined. The Kruskal-Wallis H test was used to compare the degree of enhancement and hs-CRP concentration among the early , middle and late stage. The concentration of hs-CRP was presented as median ( interquartile range ).The Spearman correlation was used to analyze the correlation between elapsed time , hs-CRP concentration and degree of enhancement. Results Fifty-five (55/81) plaques were located at the M1 segments, and the other 26 (26/81) plaques were at the basilar artery. The degree and presence of enhancement from strong to none were 29, 25 and 4 in the early stage;4, 6 and 3 in the middle stage and 0, 4, 6 in the late stage, respectively. The degree and presence of enhancement were significantly different among them (H=16.934,P<0.01).There was a remarkable trend of decreasing degree and presence of enhancement of the atherosclerotic plaque relative to increasing time after the ischemic event(r=-0.792,P<0.01).The serum hs-CRP concentration for early, middle and late stage were 7.0(3.0, 13.0), 2.27(1.0, 3.03) and 1.88(0.50, 4.0)mg/L (H=14.345,P<0.01) , respectively. There was a trend of decreasing hs-CRP concentration relative to the time elapsed ( r =-0.357,P<0.01).The degrees of enhancement of the plaques were parallel to the levels of hs -CRP( r=0.526,P<0.01).Conclusions Enhanced HR-MRI scanning may clearly demonstrate the enhancement characteristics of intracranial atherosclerotic plaques as an indicator of inflammation. It might play an important role to detect risk factors for intracranial plaque rupture and subsequent acute ischemic stroke .
