Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2016;30(5):392-395
OBJECTIVE:
Comparative analysis of the clinical curative effect of manipulative reduction and TRV- CRP treatment of BPPV, comfort degree during reset and quality of life improvement.
METHOD:
One hundred and thirty-two patients with BPPV were randomly divided into two groups ,one group underwent the traditional manip- ulative reduction, the other group with TRV-CRP. DRI and VAS was evaluated in the pre and after treatment and evaluation of the efficacy was conducted. The results of two groups were compared.
RESULT:
The effective rate of manipulative reduction after a week treatment was 89. 23% and TRV-CRP.was 98. 51%, which was higher in TRV-CRP group than that of the manipulation reduction group(P<0. 05). The comfort degree of the manipulation reduction group was 4. 54±2. 48,higher than the TRV-CRP group which was 5. 48±1. 44 (P<0. 05). The score of DHI showed no significant difference before treatment between manipulation reduction group and TRV-CRP group(P>0. 05), the score of the two groups were decreased after a week of reduction, but the improvement of TRV-CRP group was higher than that of manipulation reduction group(P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION
The success rate of TRV-CRP was higher than that of manipulative reduction, but manipulative reduction comfort degree was higher than TRV-CRP, the two methods can both improve the quality of life of patients with BPPV. TRV-CRP has many advantages over manipulative reduction, but manipulative reduction is simple with low cost, and the effect is still a great advantage. In clinical work, we should reasonable combine the two methods,so as to improve the cure rate of RPPV.

Digital Chinese Medicine 2024;7(4):332-342
Methods:
A total of 10 specific pathogen free (SPF) grade female DBA/2J mice were randomly divided into model group and QGA II group (n = 5 for each group), while additional 5 SPF-grade female C57BL/6J mice were assigned to control group. Mice presented spontaneous high IOP and showed elevated approximately at the age of seven months. The high IOP was maintained until week 38, when gavage was initiated. Mice in control group underwent the same intragastric treatment, while those in QGA II group were gavaged with QGA II (9.67 g/kg), once a day for four weeks. Retinal morphology was examined using hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining, with the number of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) counted. The expression level of Brn3a protein, a specific marker for RGCs, was detected by immunofluorescence, with the mean optical density (OD) measured for quantitative analysis. In addition, 16S rDNA sequencing was leveraged to analyze changes in the diversity of gut microbiota, including their α-diversity (Chao1, Shannon, Pielou’s evenness, and observed species index) and β-diversity. Venn diagrams and linear discriminant analysis effect size (LEfSe) analysis was employed to investigate the number of amplicon sequence variants (ASVs), the abundance of differential gut microbiota species, and the classification of species at both the phylum and genus levels within the three groups of mice.
Results:
HE staining revealed that compared with control group, model group showed significant reduction in the number of RGCs (P < 0.01), with intracellular vacuolar degeneration and nuclear pyknosis. After QGA II treatment, the number of RGCs was significantly increased compared with model group (P < 0.01), with notable improvements in intracellular vacuolar degeneration. Immunofluorescence analysis showed that the mean OD of Brn3a protein was significantly decreased in model group compared with control group (P < 0.01), while QGA II treatment significantly elevated its expression level (P < 0.01). Analysis of α-diversity showed that after QGA II intervention, the Chao1, Shannon, and Pielou’s evenness indices were significantly increased (P < 0.01), and the observed species index was elevated (P < 0.05). β-Diversity analysis demonstrated distinct clustering among the three groups, indicating relatively low similarity in bacterial community structures. ASV clustering identified a total of 14 061 ASVs across all groups, with 9 514 ASVs shared between model and QGA II groups. At the phylum level, the abundance of Bacteroidetes was significantly decreased in model group compared with control group (P < 0.01), while Firmicutes and the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes (F/B) ratio were significantly increased (P < 0.01). QGA II treatment significantly reduced both Firmicutes abundance and the F/B ratio (P < 0.01). At the genus level, Lactobacillus was dominant across all groups, with its abundance significantly increased in model group (P < 0.01) and subsequently decreased following QGA II intervention (P < 0.05).
Conclusion
QGA II restructured the gut microbiota of DBA/2J mice with chronic high IOP, bringing changes in their diversity and abundance of components. Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, Lactobacillus, along with their associated microorganisms, are likely critical components of the gut microbiota that contribute to the optic neuroprotective effects of QGA II on chronic high IOP mice.

Accurate segmentation of oral surgery-related tissues from cone beam computed tomography(CBCT)images can significantly accelerate treatment planning and improve surgical accuracy. In this paper,we propose a fully automated tissue segmentation system for dental implant surgery.Specifically,we propose an image preprocessing method based on data distribution histograms, which can adaptively process CBCT images with different parameters.Based on this,we use the bone segmentation network to obtain the segmentation results of alveolar bone, teeth, and maxillary sinus. We use the tooth and mandibular regions as the ROI regions of tooth segmentation and mandibular nerve tube segmentation to achieve the corresponding tasks. The tooth segmentation results can obtain the order information of the dentition. The corresponding experimental results show that our method can achieve higher segmentation accuracy and efficiency compared to existing methods. Its average Dice scores on the tooth, alveolar bone, maxillary sinus, and mandibular canal segmentation tasks were 96.5%,95.4%,93.6%,and 94.8%,respectively.These results demonstrate that it can accelerate the development of digital dentistry.

OBJECTIVETo observe the inhibitory effect of angiotensin-(1-7) on liver fibrosis induced by bile duct ligation in rats.
METHODSEighteen Wistar rats were randomized into 3 groups and subject to sham operation, bile duct ligation (BDL), or BDL with angiotensin-(1-7) treatment. An osmotic minipump was implanted intraperitoneally for administration of saline in the sham-operated and BDL groups and angiotensin-(1-7) (25 µg·kg(-1)·h(-1)) in angiotensin-(1-7) treatment group. After a 4-week treatments, the fibrosis score, Masson staining, and hydroxyproline assay were used to evaluate the level of liver fibrosis in the rats, and immunohistochemistry was used to detect expression of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) in the liver tissue.
RESULTSCompared with BDL group, a 4-week treatment with angiotensin-(1-7) following BDL significantly reduced the fibrosis score (2.33±0.52 vs 5.17±0.75), hydroxyproline content (0.36±0.03 vs 0.52±0.04) and α-SMA expression (54.11±17.55 vs 191.84±31.72) in the liver tissue of the rats (P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONProlonged infusion of angiotensin-(1-7) inhibit the formation of hepatic fibrosis in rats following bile duct ligation.

Journal of Southern Medical University 2012;32(2):173-176
OBJECTIVETo investigate the occurrence of epithelial to mesenchymal phenotype transition (EMT) in the liver of rats following bile duct ligation (BDL).
METHODSTwenty-four male Wistar rats were randomized into sham-operated group and BDL group. Liver fibrosis of the rats was evaluated by HE staining and Masson's trichrome staining. Western blotting was used to detect the expression levels of the epithelial markers albumin and E-cadherin and the mesenchymal markers type I collagen and vimentin in the liver tissue. Immunofluorescence was employed to determine the co-localizations of FSP-1+vimentin, FSP-1+type I collagen, FSP-1+albumin, and albumin+type I collagen in cells.
RESULTSCompared with those in sham-operated group, the rats in BDL group showed significantly increased ISHAK fibrosis score (4.42+1.16 vs 0, P+0.000), METAVIR fibrosis score (3.42+0.67 vs 0, P+0.000) and type I collagen levels (0.30+0.06 vs 0.11+0.07, P+0.000) with up-regulated protein levels of albumin (0.53+0.63 vs 1.12+0.01, P+0.000) and E-cadherin (0.21+0.01 vs 0.44+0.01, P+0.000) and down-regulated type I collagen (8.21+0.12 vs 0.24+0.01, P+0.000) and vimentin (3.14+0.01 vs 0.37+0.01, P+0.000). The number of cells with co-localizations of FSP-1+vimentin, FSP-1+type I collagen, FSP-1+albumin, and albumin+type I collagen was also significantly increased in BDL group.
CONCLUSIONBDL causes significantly decreased expression of epithelial markers and increased expressions of the mesenchymal markers in rats, indicating the occurrence of EMT in some of the liver cells.
