Objective To discuss the application value of DWI and ADC on predicting therapeutic effect of radiotherapy treatment in NPC. Methods Twenty four local recurrent cases and 38 non-recurrent cases after radiotherapy treatment in NPC were reviewed. MRI and DWI-MRI were performed at pre-radiotherapy and 3, 6, 12 months after treatment, the ADC values of the lesions were analyzed by SPSS 18.0 statistical software. ROC curves based on the ADC values were measured in 3, 6, 12 months after treatment plotted to analyze the threshold ADC value for confirming recurrence. Results The recurrent group and newly diagnosed group showed significantly high signal on DWI, while the non-recurrent group acquired low or mixed signal. The ADC values of the primary tumor in the recurrent group and the non-recurrent group were (0.709 ± 0.078) × 10-3 and (0.693 ± 0.089) × 10-3mm2/s, respectively, t=-0.717,P>0.05, respectively. The ADC values of the primary and recurrent tumor in the recurrent group were (0.730± 0.068) × 10-3mm2/s and (0.709 ± 0.078) × 10-3mm2/s, t=-1.000,P>0.05 , respectively. There were statistical differences between the recurrent group and the non-recurrent group for ADC in 3, 6, 12 months after treatment:(1.128 ± 0.179) × 10-3 and (1.358 ± 0.145) × 10-3mm2/s, t=5.567,P<0.01;(1.164 ± 0.174) and (1.450 ± 0.102) × 10-3mm2/s, t=7.310,P<0.01;(1.107 ± 0.180) × 10-3 and (1.584 ± 0.125) × 10-3mm2/s, t=11.189,P<0.01;respectively. Take 1.29 × 10-3 mm2/s,1.32 × 10-3mm2/s,1.37 × 10-3mm2/s respectively in 3, 6, 12months after treatment as the diagnostic threshold to predict tumor recurrence. The sensitive , specificity, and accuracy were (83.3%, 73.7%, 77.4%), (83.3%, 89.5%, 87.1%), (100.0%, 94.7%, 96.3%).Conclusions Both DWI and ADC value are important for diagnosing and predicting recurrent NPC after radiotherapy treatment, DWI and ADC can be used to regular follow-up after radiotherapy, to further improve the rate of early diagnosis of recurrent NPC.

BACKGROUND: There are no effective methods to cure Alzheimer disease (AD). Now, researches have shown that panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) play an important role in improving AD, but its mechanism is unclear.OBJECTIVE: To observe the protective effect of PNS characterized by removing blood stasis to stop bleeding and promoting blood circulation to relieve pain on pathological lesion of cholinergic neuron in rat with AD.DESIGN: Completely randomized grouping design and controlled study.SETTING: Neuroscience Institute of Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University.MATERIALS: This experiment was completed in the Chinese Herb Pharmacodynamic Laboratory of Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University between June 2003 and April 2005. A total of 90 health Wistar rats of clean grade and half gender were selected in this study. Among them, there were 75 old rats with 15 months old and 15 young rats with 3 months old. METHODS: This experiment was completed in the Chinese herb Pharmacodynamic Laboratory (Key Laboratory) of Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University between June 2003 and April 2005. ① A total of 90 healthy Wistar rats of clean grade and half gender were selected in this study. Among them, there were 75 old rats with 15 months old and 15 young rats with 3 months old. Fifteen young rats with 3 months old were regarded as young control group, and other 15 selected from 75 rats with 15 months old were regarded as old control group. The rest 60 rats were modeled on the basis of subacute injury induced by intravenous injection of D-galactose and bilateral cerebral Meynert basal nuclei injured by ibotenic acid. Parallel control was performed with saline on rats in young control group and old control group under the same condition. ② Two weeks later, survival modeling rats were divided randomly into 4 groups: model group,high-dosage PNS group, low-dosage PNS group and huperzine A group with 12 in each group. Rats in high-and low-dosage PNS groups were perfused with 200 and 100 mg/kg PNS (provided by Yunnan Yuxi Weihe Pharmaceutical Factory), respectively, once a day; rats in huperzine A group were perfused with 0.3 mg/kg huperzine A once a day for 4 weeks; rats in model group, young control group and old control group were perfused with the same volume of saline for 4 weeks. ③ After administration, pathological sections of brain tissue were cut, and immunologic-reaction activity of choline acetyltransferase (ChAT), morphological changes and numbers of positive neuron in cerebral sections were determined by immunohistochemistry analysis. ChAT immuno-positive neurons were analyzed with IBAS imaging analysis system to assay average area of section and average absorbance (A), and amount of ChAT immuno-positive neurons was calculated with microscope micrometer. ④ Measurement data were compared with single-factor analysis of variance.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Effect of PNS on distribution of cholinergic neuron and ChAT content in cerebral tissue of AD rat models.RESULTS: A total of 75 old rats and 15 young rats entered the final analysis. ① Amount of ChAT immuno-positive neurons was the most, and the color was the deepest in young control group; amount of ChAT immuno-positive neurons was higher in high-dosage PNS group than that in huperzine A group and model group; ChAT immuno-positive neurons were smaller in model group than those in other goups, and the amount was decreased obviously. Axis-cylinder and dendrite of soma were shortened remarkably. ② Amounts of ChAT immuno-positive neurons in basal forebrain were less in model group than those in other groups (P < 0.05), less in lowdosage PNS group, huperzine A group and model group than those in old control group (P < 0.05), less in huperzine A group and model group than those in high- and low-dosage PNS group (P < 0.05), and less in young control group than those in other groups (P < 0.05). The mean A value of ChAT immuno-positive neurons in basal forebrain was similar to amounts in each group. Average area of section of ChAT immuno-positive neurons in basal forebrain was smaller in low-dosage PNS group and model group than that in young control group (P < 0.05), and differences in other groups were not significant (P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: PNS plays a protective role in pathological lesion of cholinergic neuron in AD rat models. PNS can also increase survival amount and quality of cell and increase content and activity of ChAT so as to protect and improve central cholinergic system, and inhibit aging and dementia through improving and repairing injured cholinergic neurons.

Journal of Geriatric Cardiology 2010;07(3):166-170
Objective The current study aimed to evaluate whether the induction of macrophage inflammatory cytokines by Ox-LDL is related to the expression of ABCA1 pathway. Methods After THP1/PMA macrophages were transfected with ABCA1 antisense oligonucleotides (100nmol/L) followed by treatment with Ox-LDL (30mg/L), the expressions of ABCA1, ICAM-1 and MCP-1 mRNA and protein were determined by real-time fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR, Western blot or ELISA. Results Ox-LDL induced expressions of ABCA1, ICAM-1, and MCP-1 at both mRNA and protein levels from THP1/PMA macrophages. Transfection with ABCA1 antisense oligonucleotides reduced ABCA1 mRNA levels after 3 and 6 hours and protein levels after 12 and 24 hours. The expression of ICAM-1 and MCP-1 induced by Ox-LDL was also decreased after inhibition of ABCA1 protein expression by ABCA1 antisense oligonucleotide decreased. Conclusion The induction of macrophage inflammatory cytokines by Ox-LDL is partially dependent on expression of ABCA1. Our studies disclose new functions of ABCA1 in macrophages.

Objective:
To understand the correlation between myopia related health belief and screen time of primary and secondary school students in Jing-an District of Shanghai, and to provide suggestions for reducing screen time and preventing myopia.
Methods:
Using the method of cluster sampling,1 585 students from grade one to grade eight of a primary school and a junior high school in Jing-an District were selected for a questionnaire survey regarding myopia related health belief, screen time and the correlation between them.
Results:
About 18.8%-44.4% of the students perceived themselves as myopia susceptible, which increased with grade (χ 2=33.25,P<0.01), 51.5%-78.0% of the students were aware of the adverse health impart of myopia, 39.3%-55.6% of the students were aware of unhealthy behaviors associated with myopia and 48.7%-77.5% of the students. More than 47.6% of the students daily screen time was more than 2 h/day, and daily screen time increased with grade (χ 2=12.18, P<0.01). Perceived susceptibility for myopia, awareness on adverse health impact of myopia and unhealthy behaviors associated with myopia, as well as self-efficacy associated with myopia prevention were associated with screen time of students.
Conclusion
The primary and middle school students in Jing an District show low lever of knowledge on myopia susceptibility and threat, but higher lever of knowledge on myopia severity and self-efficacy of preventing myopia. nearly half of the students use electronic screens too long or too close to their eyes. Awareness on myopia susceptibility, myopia-related behaviors and health impacts of myopia and self-efficacy, combined with screen time reduction might help myopia prevention.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2023;25(12):1917-1920
Long chain non coding RNA (LncRNA) is widely involved in various biological processes such as intracellular chromatin modification, transcriptional regulation, nuclear transport, and protein function regulation, and is closely related to various key physiological functions such as immunity and metabolism in the body. NEAT1 (nuclear parapackle assembly transcript 1) is a newly discovered LncRNA, which is an important component of the nuclear substructural paraplaques. It has been proven to regulate downstream protein expression by binding to various miRNAs, thereby regulating the expression of inflammatory factors, epithelial mesenchymal transition, autophagy, apoptosis, proliferation, migration, and other biological processes, Its abnormal expression plays an important role in the pathogenesis of lung diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis, and lung cancer, and is closely related to the prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer and the sensitivity of anti-tumor drugs. It is expected to become a new biological marker and therapeutic intervention target. This article mainly reviews the latest research progress on the role of NEAT1 in lung diseases.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2019;40(9):1315-1317
Objective:
To analyze the relationship between daily behavior and self-perceived academic performance among students in Jiangxi, and to provide a scientific basis for developing health behavior among adolescents and children.
Methods:
By using stratified cluster sampling, 12 primary and secondary schools from six counties of Jiangxi Province were selected, and a total of 2 284 students were investigated with questions including breakfast consumption, number of days participating in sports activities (≥45 min) and the average screen time during the past 7 days. Regression analysis was carried out by using ordered multi-classification logistic.
Results:
Of the 2 284 students surveyed, 1 374(60.16%) perceived their academic performance as very good or good, 613 (26.84%) and 297(13.00%) perceived as moderate or poor. Primary school, having breakfast every day, not playing on mobile or computer during weekday was positively associated with higher self-perceived academic performance (OR=0.50, 0.57 and 0.64, respectively, P<0.05), no sports activities ≥45 min during the past 7 d was associated with poor(OR=1.57, P<0.01). Among the 2 284 students, 67.43% students ate breakfast every day in the past 7 d, 75.39% students did not play mobile phones or computers at school, 40.89% students did not participate in sports activities (≥45 min).
Conclusion
Breakfast skipping and insufficient physical exercise shows adverse effects, and no/limited screen time during weekdays shows positive effects on academic performance. Intervention of visky behaviors should to carried out from different perspectives to promote the develpment of the health habits among students.
