A total of 35 patients with hallus valgus (56 feet) received treatment at the Department of Orthopedics, the Sixth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University between January 2004 and June 2005 and were recruited into this study. These patients underwent osteotomy of proximal first metatarsal and internal fixation with poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA) absorbable pins. All patients were followed up for 4-22 months. Excellent outcomes were found in 27 patients (44 feet) and good results in 8 patients (12 feet). The mean healing time of surgical region was 6 weeks, nonunion or delayed union was not found. There were 3 cases suffering from complications post surgery. Two of them presented with peripheral wound red swelling, considering as a result of extraneous material-caused aseptic inflammatory reaction. This phenomenon would be regressed 2-4 weeks after hydropathic compress of ethanol gauzes and timely renewal of dressings. There was 1 case who suffered from protrution of absorbable pin 1 week after fixation and received reposition and plaster fixation. Bone displacement and nonunion were not found. This complication maybe results from excessively large bone pore due to shaking of electrodrill, which leads to loosening of absorbable pins.

BACKGROUND: Calcium sulfate/poly amino acid compound materials carrying triple anti-tuberculosis drugs have been proved to have excellent slow release performance based on our preliminary studies on the physical and chemical properties and the release properties of the compound materials.OBJECTIVE: To observe the slow release performance of the calcium sulfate/poly(amino acid) compound material carrying triple anti-tuberculosis drugs in a rabbit model of spinal tuberculosis.METHODS: Twenty-four New Zealand white rabbits were used to make L4-5 spinal tuberculosis models and divided into two groups in a random way following removal of tuberculosis lesions. Calcium sulfate/poly amino acid compound material carrying isoniazide, rifampicin, pyrazinamide or calcium sulfate/poly(amino acid)compound material with no drugs was implanted into the defect in the experimental or control group, respectively. At 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks after implantation, the concentrations of isoniazid, rifampicin and pyrazinamide in the defect region, including the bone tissue, adjacent psoas major and inferior vena cava, were measured.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: In the experimental group, the isoniazid levels in the damaged bone tissue and psoas major were kept in minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) at 8 weeks after implantation and in the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) at the end of 12 weeks after implantation, while its level in the vein was kept in MBC at 2 weeks and in MIC at 8 weeks. The rifampicin levels in the bone tissue and psoas major were kept in MBC at 4 weeks after implantation and in the MIC at 8 weeks after implantation, while its level in the vein was kept MIC at 4 weeks. The pyrazinamide levels in the damaged bone tissue and psoas major were kept in MBC at 8 weeks after implantation and in the MIC until 8 weeks after implantation, while its level in the vein was kept MIC at 8 weeks. In the control group, there were no levels of isoniazid, rifampicin and pyrazinamide in the damaged bone tissue, adjacent psoas major and inferior vena cava in comparison with the baseline. These results show that isoniazid, rifampicin and pyrazinamide in the defect region can achieve sustained slow release in the rabbit model of spinal tuberculosis after implantation of the calcium sulfate/poly(amino acid) compound material carrying triple anti-tuberculosis drugs. In addition, the local drug concentration and duration in the defect region are better than those in the blood.

Objective To get a molluscicide from Reineckea carnea which is effective on Oncomelania hupensis but has low poison on fish. Methods Methyl soaking, column chromatography and HPLC were used for isolation of molluscicidal component from Reineckea carnea. Results The snail mortality with Reineckea carnea powder was 86.0% for 72 h immersion and 100.0% for 120 h at the concentration of 17.5 mg/L, but the fish mortality was 0 at the concentration of 130 mg/L, indicating that Reineckea carnea had different effects on the two kinds of animals . The fraction A was obtained from Reineckea carnea by methyl immersion, column chromatography. The snail mortality with A was 84.4% for 144 h at the concentration of 10 mg/L, indicating that A had high molluscicidal effect on Oncomelania hupensis. After A being isolated by HPLC, 99.98% RC-Ⅰ was obtained from it . RC-Ⅰ was determined by API2000 LC/MS and other spectrum, and it was deduced to be one of steroidal glycosides. Conclusion Reineckea carnea contains a high effective molluscicidal component.

Due to the improvement of infant survival rates,Candidas have been proved to be the third most common pathogen of late-onset sepsis in NICU,and invasive fungal infection of high-risk infants is in-creasing attention. As the diagnosis is difficult, treatment is often delayed, high mortality and severe disability are also caused,it's becoming a research hot spot to assess whether antifungal prophylaxis is beneficial. Now a number of studies have been performed to discuss the prophylactic role of fluconazole and nystatin, but has not yet reached a consensus. This review described the influence of chemoprophylaxis on fungal infection, colonization and drug resistance.

Objective:To study the prognostic factors in patients with occult ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after hepatectomy. Methods:The clinical data of 31 patients with occult ruptured HCC who underwent hepatectomy at the Heze Multiple Hospital from January 2001 to December 2014 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 27 males and 4 females, with ages ranging from 29 to 73 years. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was carried out for survival analysis, and compared by the log-rank test. Multivariate analysis was conducted using the Cox proportional hazards regression model. Results:Of 31 patients in this study, 27(87.1%) had died, and 25(80.6%) had developed tumor recurrence and metastasis. The median overall survival was 8 months and the median tumor-free survival was 4 months. On Cox regression analysis, non-R 0 resection was an independent risk factor of overall survival ( RR=2.816, 95% CI: 1.006-7.887) and disease-free survival ( RR=3.295, 95% CI: 1.215-8.940). Poor tumor differentiation was an independent risk factor of overall survival ( RR=3.120, 95% CI: 1.193-8.160). Conclusions:The prognosis of patients with occult rupture HCC who underwent no R 0 resection was poor. However, the prognosis of patients who underwent non-R 0 resection was even poorer.

Objective:
To explore the effectiveness of machine learning algorithms in predicting non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) behavior among college students, and to analyze the influencing factors of NSSI behavior, thus providing a reference for promoting psychological well-being.
Methods:
In December 2022, a stratified random cluster sampling method was used to select 835 college students from a university in Guizhou Province, China. The Adolescent Self-injury Scale, Family Function Assessment Scale, and Emotion Regulation Self-efficacy Scale were used to evaluate the participants. Demographic characteristics, family factors, and emotional factors were taken as independent variables, while the dependent variable was whether college students exhibited NSSI behavior. Machine learning algorithms, including Logistic regression, support vector machine (SVM), decision trees, algorithm gradient boosting trees, random forests, and AdaBoost, were used to construct predictive models.
Results:
The detection rate of NSSI behavior among the college students was 23.23% (194 individuals). The NSSI behavior group scored higher than the non-NSSI behavior group in total family function, emotional communication, egoism, and family rules ( t=3.02, 3.35 , 2.23,2.87, P <0.05). On the other hand, the non-NSSI behavior group scored higher than the NSSI behavior group in total emotion regulation selfefficacy, managing negative emotion self-efficacy, and expressing positive emotion self-efficacy ( t=-5.04, -5.48 , -2.43, P <0.05). The recall rates of random forests, SVM, Logistic regression, decision trees, algorithm gradient boosting trees, and AdaBoost were 84.3% , 90.6%, 73.4%, 87.5%, 95.3%, 89.0%, respectively. The F1 scores were 84.4%, 92.1%, 71.2 %, 79.4%, 91.7%, 89.1% , respectively. The respective precision rates were 84.4%, 93.5%, 69.1%, 72.7%, 88.4%, 89.1 %. The AUC scores were 0.845, 0.922, 0.706, 0.776, 0.915, and 0.891, respectively.
Conclusion
Compared to the algorithm gradient boosting tree, random forest, Logistic regression, and AdaBoost models, the SVM model has a better predictive effect on whether college students in Guizhou Province exhibits NSSI behavior. It is recommended to use an appropriate model to identify students at risk of NSSI behavior as early as possible and provide psychological crisis interventions to promote their mental health.
