1.The research about Candida albicans biofilms eliminated by miconazole combined with drug efflux pump inhibitors
Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology 2009;29(2):113-116
Objective To investigate the effect of killing the biofilm persisters by miconazole combined with two compound which can inhibit the drug efflux of C. albicans. Methods Lab reference strains of C. albicans YEM30(CAF2-1) formed the mature biofilm in the 96 well plates, and then treated with miconazole combined with Enniatin B (CDR1 inhibitor) and Milbemycins ot25 (CDRI/CDR2 inhibitor) respectively. After incubated for 48 hours by CFU counting on the YPD plates, the analysis of persisters with SAS8.0 software package for q test. Results Miconazole combined with drug efflux inhibitor can kill more persisters than miconazole alone(P <0.001), and combining with Enniatin B have a better results in eliminating the biofilm persisters than with Milbemycins α25. Conclusion Antifungal drugs combined with drug efflux pump inhibitors can kill more strains which can tolerate very high concentration of antifungal drugs. And searching the potential drug efflux pump inhibitors may be a new way for eliminating the persisters in biofilm, and consequently controlling the chronic recurrent fungal infectious diseases.

Objective To analyze the relationship between clinical features of infantile cough after infection and microelements in peripheral blood, and to observe the therapeutic of treating this cough with Milkvetch Root and Radix Glycyrrhizae. Methods 75 infantile patients were randomly recruited into a therapeutic group and a reference group. 39 patients in the therapeutic group were treated with Huangqi Zhusheye and Tablete Glycyrrhiza, while 36 patients in the reference group were treated with Azithromycin. The therapeutic effects were evaluated after the treatment. Meanwhile, microelements in peripheral blood of the 75 patients were assayed and made a contrast to 40 healthy children. Results The contents of Fe, Zn, and Mg in peripheral blood of the 75 patients dropped on different levels, comparing to the healthy children. The therapeutic effects of the therapeutic group was much better than the reference group with significant difference (P<0.05).Liver and renal functional lesion was unseen in both groups after the treatment. Conclusion Infantile past-infection cough may related with the decrease of Mg, Fe, and Zn. Combined usage of Milkvetch Root and Radix Glycyrrhizae clinically has good therapeutic effects to this disease.

Objective:The research investigated the characters of college students' autonomy and its relation to social adjustment.Methods:650 college students from Xi'an completed The Self-Regulatory Questionnaire and The Chinese College Student Adjustment Scale (CCSAS).Results:① Boys' autonomy level was higher than girls';There were no significant differences of autonomy level in the first three years of college, but the senior year appeared a slight reduction.②There were significant correlations between autonomy and social adjustment.③Students with higher autonomy had significant better social adjustment than lower autonomy students.④ Autonomy had direct effect on social adjustment. Conclusion:There are significant correlations between autonomy and social adjustment.

OBJECTIVE To probe how to avoid the complication after intravenous infusion for the elders. METHODS The cause of the complication in infusion therapy for the elders with a total of 80 cases in the past three years was analyzed retrospectively. RESULTS Among the complications after intravenous infusion for 80 elders, leakage injury accounted for 47 cases(58.5%), and phlebitis accounted for 21 cases(26.8%),respectively. CONCLUSIONS As the elders′ blood vessel wall is very thin, the intravenous infusion often causes injury, the nurses should pay more attention to operating of intravenous infusion for the elders, observing regularly, and prolonging the time for pressing the pinprick after pulling out the dropper,in order to reduce the coming of injury.

With the occurrence of wireless sensor networks,low-load monitoring has a revolutionary change.Using wireless sensor networks, the whole monitoring system is composed of wireless electrocardiogram(ECG)sensors and wireless pulse wave sensors.Pulse wave signals from the temporal artery and ECG signals from the body synchronously were measured.Pulse Wave Transit Time was calculated. Both the wireless ECG sensor and the wireless pulse wave sensor were small sized and powered by button battery;the precision of time synchronization among sensors was less than 1 ms.The calculated Pulse Wave Transit Time changed slowly with deep breathing. The system iS able to work smoothly for continuous monitoting of Pulse Wave Transit Time in working conditions.

Astemizole is nitrasoted with sodium nitrite in 0.12 mo l/L HAc solution at boiling bath for 25 min. The nitrosation product of astemizo le shows a reduction peak by single-sweep oscillopolarography. The peak potenti al is -0.72V (vs.Ag/AgCl). The first-order derivative peak current is propo rtional to the concentration of astemizole in the range of 4.0×10-7~1.6 ×10-5 mol/L (r=0.9997), with detection limit of 2.0×10-7 mol/L . The proposed method has been applied to the determination of astemizole in pha rmaceutical tablets.

As an important neurotransmitter, adenosine displays its functions by acting on the adenosine receptors. Recent studies have shown that the distribution, expression and balance among subtypes of adenosine receptors are closely related with cognitive activities, and changes of adenosine receptors play key roles in neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer's disease. It has been pointed out that prolonged activation of adenosine receptors by high level adenosine may lead to the disturbance of balance among adenosine receptor subtypes. This imbalance mainly performed as increased expression of A2a receptor and decreased expression of A1 receptor, and enhancement of the excitatory signals mediated by A2a receptor and weakened inhibitory signals mediated by A1 receptor. Changes of these two subtypes of adenosine receptors may lead to a lot of disorders of neurological activities which developed into dysfunction of cognition to the end. These findings imply that the potential of maintaining the balance among adenosine receptors on the treatment of AD would facilitate both the revealing of the mechanism and the cure of AD.

AIM: To observe the changes in tumor-weight-inhibiting rates, immunological function, liver and renal function and the blood cell in the peripheral blood after administration of Shengmai Injection combined with chemotherapeutic agent,Oxaliplatin. METHODS: Hepatoma 22 tumor bearing mice models were established and then divided randomly into five groups, including control group,Oxaliplatin group,Shengmai Injection(high, middle and low dose) combined with Oxaliplatin groups. Each group had 10 mice. The five groups were injected introperitoneally with same amount of 5% glucose injection,Oxaliplatin 6 mg/kg and Shengmai Injection(14 mL/kg,7 mL/kg and 3.5 mL/kg) plus Oxaliplatin 6 mg/kg respectively, once a day for 14 days. After that, mice in the five groups were all killed after being anesthetized and the tumor-weight-inhibiting rates and the index of immunological function, liver and renal function and the blood cell in the peripheral blood were observed. RESULTS: (1) The tumor-weight-inhibiting rates were higher in each Shengmai Injection plus Oxaliplatin group than that in the Oxaliplatin group (P
