OBJECTIVETo study the pharmacological changes of Atractylodes lancea before and after processing and the processing mechanism on the basis of the pharmacological changes.
METHODThe model of dampness retention in the middle-jiao rats was established to determine small intestine peristalsis rate, GAS level, urine volume and AQP2 content from urine in different groups.
RESULTAll treatment groups showed increase in small intestinal peristalsis rate and GAS level. The bran-processed group showed significant difference from the negative group. The high dose A. lancea group showed increase in urine volume and decrease in urine AQP2 content in model rats, which were different from the negative group.
CONCLUSIONWater extracts from bran-processed A. lancea can obviously increase small intestinal peristalsis and GAS level, indicating that A. lancea has the effect for strengthening spleen and stomach after stir-baking with bran. Its impact on urine and urine AQP2 content in model rats demonstrates that its dryness of A. lancea is alleviated after stir-baking with bran.

Objective To explore the composition principles of prescriptions for simple obesity based on the analysis of medical literature issued in recently 30 years about Chinese medicine for simple obesity. Methods We collected literature of Chinese medicine in treating simple obesity from VIP, CNKI, Wanfang, CBM and CMCC/CMCI databases, and screened out the formulas for simple obesity to establish a formula database. And then the medication rules were figured out with the Traditional Chinese medicine Inheritance Support System version 2.5 (TCMISS 2.5) software. Results A total of 57 formulas were screened out. And the top 10 herbs with highest occurrence frequency in the prescriptions were Poria, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Rhizoma Alismatis, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Fructus Crataegi, Radix Astragali, Radix Glycyrrhizae, Folium Nelumbinis, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae and Semen Cassiae. After data mining, we got 13 high-frequency herb-pair combinations and 31 core combinations, and 8 new prescriptions were extracted. Conclusion The research has achieved the quantitative description of the relationship between the Chinese medicines, the extraction of the core combinations and the discovery of new Chinese medicine prescriptions for simple obesity. The results will provide references for the development of new Chinese medicines for the treatment of simple obesity .

OBJECTIVETo construct a lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor (LOX-1) RNA interference (RNAi) lentivirus and explore the role of LOX-1 in H(2)O(2)-induced apoptosis of rat myocardial cells.
METHODSLOX-1 shRNA sequence was synthesized and cloned into pLentiLox3.7 (pLL3.7) lentiviral vector to construct the lentiviral vector pLL3.7-LOX1. The lentiviral vectors (pLL3.7 and pLL3.7-LOX1) and the packaging vectors dR8.9 and VSVG were co-transfected into 293FT cells for packaging the lentivirus. H9C2 myocardial cells were infected by the lentiviruses to observe the inhibitory rate of LOX-1 on H(2)O(2)-induced apoptosis of H9C2 cells by RT-PCR, CCK-8, and Hochest33258 staining.
RESULTSDouble restriction enzyme digestion and DNA sequencing confirmed correct insertion of the sequence. Suppression of LOX-1 by the lentivirus attenuated H(2)O(2)-induced cell viability reduction and apoptosis in the myocardial cells (P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONLOX-1 activation may play an important role in H(2)O(2)-induced apoptosis of rat myocardial cells.

Objective To compare the efficacy of different hysteroscopic surgical procedures in the treatment of endometrial polyps. Methods Ninety-two patients with endometrial polyps from January 2016 to December 2017 were selected. Among them, 37 patients with fertility requirements underwent polypectomy with MyoSure as group A; 25 patients without fertility requirements underwent polypectomy with resectoscopic hysteroscopy as group B, and 30 patients underwent polypectomy with hysterosopy and curettage as group C. The duration of the procedure, blood loss and hospital stays, effective rate, recurrence rate and postoperative pregnancy rate of the3 groups were compared. Results There was no significant difference in intraoperative blood loss and hospital stays among the 3 groups (P> 0.05). The duration of the procedure of group A and B was longer than that of group C, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The effective rate of treatment was high in all 3 groups, and inter-group comparison indicated no statistically significant difference, but the recurrence rate of group C was significantly higher than that of group A and B. For those with fertility requirements, the pregnancy rate in group A was slightly higher than that in group C within one year after surgery, but the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion Hysteroscopic procedures of endometrial polypectomy has the advantages of accuracy, safety, effectiveness and rapid recovery. The treatment with MyoSure and resectoscopic hysteroscopy can reduce the recurrence rate of patients effectively. For women with fertility requirements, the treatment with MyoSure can protect the endometrium and improve the postoperative pregnancy rate.
