Objective To explore the effects of sole desensitization physical therapy on standing balance and walking function among recovering stroke patients.MethodsStroke patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly assigned to the observation group (40 cases) or the control group (40 cases). All patients received traditional rehabilitation. In addition, the observation group received sole densensitization physical therapy. The total course of treatment lasted for 1 month. The Berg balance scale (BBS) and Holden's functional ambulation classification (FAC) were used to evaluate balance and walking ability before and after treatment. The Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) was used to assess the motor function of the affected ankle, and footprint analysis was used to measure and record any changes in time and distance walked and to analyze improvements in gait.ResultsAfter the sole desensitization training, the BBS (37.41 ± 8.14), FAC ( 3.91 ±0.92) and FMA motor function (6.42 ± 1.12) results of the observation group were all significantly better than before training. Walking time and distance also improved.ConclusionsSole desensitization can affect foot proprioception. As a result, stroke patients' soles adapt to the surroundings, recover their ability to provide physiological support and promote improved motor function of the ankle.Sole desensitization can thus improve the standing balance and walking of stroke patients.

Objective To compare the long-term results of hypospadias surgery and analyze the influencing factors. Methods Sixty-four hypospadiac patients were followed up, cosmetic and sexual functional results were assessed by hypospadiac patients and surgeon using a designed questionnaire and 5-item version of the international index of erectile function (IIEF-5). Selected 35 adult as normal controls. Maximum flow rate and average flow rate Were used to assess evaluation of voiding function. Results All cases were followed up for 3-11 (7.5 ± 2.3) years. The satisfaction with the long-term results of penile appearance had significant differences between hypospadiac patients and surgeon, hypospadiac patients were less satisfied than surgeon (P< 0.05 or < 0.01). No significant differences were noted between hypospadiac patients and normal controls regarding the maximum flow rate [(23.37 ±2.92), (24.41 ±2.94) ml/s], average flow rate [(16.84± 1.75), (17.34 ±2.14) ml/s] and erectile function [(22.31 ± 1.94), (22.80 ± 1.73) pointe](P> 0.05). The average penile lengths[(5.93 ± 1.06) cm] and circumferences[(6.17 ±0.83) cm] of hypospadiac patients under flaccid conditions after operation were significantly shorter than those of normal controls [ (7.38 ± 0.79 ), ( 7.53 ± 0.75 ) cm ] ( P < 0.01). The important factors to influence the results including the age at which surgery was completed, hypospadiac severity, the number of operation and complication. ConclusionsIt is useful to improve the long-term efficacy by minimizing the number of operation and complication, and treating hypospadiac patients earlier. Surgeon should pay more attention to the long-term cosmetic results of hypospadias surgery.

Objective To investigate factors associated with prevalence, awareness, treatment and control of hypertension in Dagang Oil Field, and to provide the scientific evidence for the intervention measurements. Methods A cross-sectional, population-based survey was conducted in Dagang Oil Field from 2008 to 2010. Totally, 16 553 adults, 8 174 men (49.38%) and 8 379 women (50.62%), completed all of the questionnaires, measurement examination and blood specimen collection. Results The prevalence of hypertension was 27.30%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that male, old age, overweight or obesity, family history of hypertension, marriage, education attainment, snoring, high heart rate, fasting blood glucose, serum total protein, and hyperuricemia were associated with hypertension. The awareness, treatment, control rates among all hypertensive subjects, and control rate among treated hypertensive participants were 52.65%, 40.07%, 15.51%, and 38.78%, respectively. Awareness was more common in those who were 45-64 years old , high medical costs, family history of hypertension, and smoking currently. Odds ratio (OR) (95% CI) of awareness was 5.24 (2.78 to 9.88), 24.11 (11.91 to 48.84) and 27.46(13.92 to 54.18) for medical costs 1-59.9 yuan/month, 60-199.9 yuan/month, and≥200 yuan/month, respectively. In contrast, exercising 2-4 times/week and longer sleep duration were associated with lower awareness. Medication treatment was more common in those who had old age, high medical costs, hypertension family history, coronary heart disease, prefer vegetable, while less common in those who exercise occasionally, sleep longer and drink alcohol currently. OR (95%CI) of treatment was 10.89 (3.76 to 31.56), 54.07 (19.20-152.24), and 87.31 (31.54 to 241.75) for medical costs 1-59.9 yuan/month, 60-199.9 yuan/month, and ≥200 yuan/month, respectively. Controlled hypertension was more common in those who had old age, high medical costs, exercise 2-4 times/week, coronary heart disease, prefer crude fibre diet, but less common in those who drink alcohol currently, have higher heart rate, and higher education attainment. OR (95%CI) of controlled hypertension was 13.59 (6.50-28.44), 14.67 (7.01-30.68), and 17.43 (8.34-36.39) for medical costs 1-59.9 yuan/m, 60-199.9 yuan/m, and≥200 yuan/m, respectively. Conclusion Despite high rate of awareness, treatment and control of hypertension still need to be strengthened.

Objective To screen and identify the novel markers for renal cell carcinoma. Methods The renal cancer A498 cell line was used as the antigen and human normal renal cell line HK-2 was used as control for subtraction biopanning from a phage display peptide library at 37 ℃ The positive and specific binding clones were identified by cell-based ELISA and immunocytochemical staining, and the identified clones were sequenced. Thus the amino acid sequence was deduced and the peptide was synthesized. The peptide was identified by immunofluorescence. Results Through a cell-based ELISA, immunocytochemical staining, and immunofluorescence, the Phage ZT-2 and synthetic peptide ZT-2 were shown to specially bind to the A498. The affinity binding to A498 was the highest (A_(ZT-2)/A_(control) = 3. 15) among the peptides assayed. The optical density of ZT-2 in renal cancer tissue (0. 453±0. 123) was significantly higher than that in normal and inflammatory renal tissue (0. 148±0. 075)(P<0. 01). Conclusions A peptide ZT-2 which is specific binding to renal cancer cell line A498 had been selected from phage display peptide libraries. Therefore, it provides a potential tool for early diagnosis of renal cancer or targeted drug delivery in chemotherapy.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the distribution and proportion of subtypes of pol gene in HIV-1 epidemic strains in Guangxi Autonomous Region.
METHODS152 HIV-1 patients were enrolled from 11 cities in Guangxi Autonomous Region from 2010 to 2012 by convenient sampling. Inclusion criterias were listed as the fdlowing: HIV-1 infection was confirmed by Western blot, HIV-1 viral load >1 000 copies/ml, > 18 year-old, and without any serious illnesses. 5 ml of peripheral blood samples were obtained from each patient. The viral RNA was isolated from plasma and used for amplification of full-length pol gene by nested RT-PCR. The amplified products were sequenced. After editing and modification, all sequences were characterized for preliminary subtyping by genotyping and confirmed with phylogenetic tree constructed by MEGA 5.03 software. The recombinant identification of 2 unknown recombinant strains was determined by RIP and jpHMM at GOBICS.
RESULTSAmong 152 patients, 137 full-length pol genes were successfully amplified and 127 HIV-1 subtypes were identified. The distribution and proportion of subtypes was summarized as the following 71 cases of CRF01_AE, accounting for 55.9% (71/127), 38 CRF08_BC, 29.9% (38/127), 13 CRF07_BC, 10.2% (13/127), and 3 B (B'), 2.4% (3/127), 2 unknown recombinant strains, 1.6% (2/127). In 11 cites of Guangxi Autonomous Region, subtype CRF01_AE was the dominant strain. Among heterosexual transmitted patients and drug abusers, the proportions of subtype CRF01_AE were 67.4% (58/86) and 34.1% (14/41), respectively. There was a significance different in the distribution of CRF01_AE in different routes of transmission (χ(2)=15.07, P<0.001). In age 21- 35, age 36- 60 and age>60 groups, the proportions of CRF01_AE was 43.6% (17/39), 57.6% (38/66), 77.3% (17/22), and CRF08_BC was 43.6% (17/39), 28.8% (19/66), 9.1% (2/22), respectively, the difference in proportions was significant(χ(2)=8.48, P= 0.014). The patterns of two unknown recombinant strains were found to be CRF01_AE/B (B') and CRF01_AE/C/B(B'), respectively.
CONCLUSIONCRF01_AE was the dominant HIV-1 subtype in Guangxi Autonomous Region from 2010 to 2012, with heterosexual transmission as its main spreading route. The two unknown recombinant strains in Guangxi Autonomous Region were reconstructed by subtype CRF01_AE and CRF_BC.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2021;23(11):931-936
Objective:To compare the efficacy between Multiloc humeral intramedullary nail system (Multiloc) and proximal humerus internal locking system (PHILOS) in the treatment of adult proximal humeral fractures. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted of the 83 adult patients with proximal humeral fracture who had been treated at Trauma Center, The Second People's Hospital of Changzhou from August 2018 to March 2021. They were 33 males and 50 females, with 45 left sides and 38 right sides injured. By the Neer classification, there were 48 two-part, 22 three-part and 13 four-part fractures. The patients were assigned into 2 groups according to different treatments: an observation group ( n=41) receiving treatment by Multiloc and a control group ( n=42) receiving treatment by PHILOS. The 2 groups were compared in terms of humeral neck shaft angles and visual analogue scale (VAS) pain scores preoperation and one month postoperation, Neer shoulder function score at the last follow-up, and incidence of adverse reactions. Results:The preoperative general data showed no statistically significant differences between the 2 groups, indicating the groups were comparable ( P>0.05). The humeral neck shaft angle (127.4°±3.6°) was recovered significantly better and the VAS pain score (1.3±0.3) was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (129.6°±4.5°,2.1±0.3) one month after operation ( P<0.05). The excellent to good rate by Neer score at the last follow-up (90.24%, 37/41) was significantly higher and the incidence of adverse reactions (2.44%) significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (71.43%, 30/42 and (19.05%, 8/42) ( P<0.05). Conclusion:In the treatment of adult proximal humeral fractures, compared with PHILOS, the Multiloc system is more effective in improving shoulder joint function, promoting shoulder motion recovery and reducing pain.
