Objective To investigate the relationship between diameter and drainage territory of tributaries of the hepatic vein and the clinical value of hepatic venous drainage territory evaluation before LDLT.Methods MSCT covering abdomen was performed on 68 donors.The images were transported and reconstructed in GE Advantage Windows 4.2 workplace and IQQA-liver CT images readout and analytical system.The tributaries of hepatic vein were marked,and the diameter and drainage territory were measured.Functional hepatic volume (FHV),and effective hepatic volume (EfHV) of donors and recipients according to the hepatic venous reconstruction results during the operation were calculated.The corresponding graft-to-recipient body weight ratio of recipients was calculated.Results In the tributaries of 220 hepatic veins studied,the coefficient correlation of diameter and drainage territory was 0.752 (P≤0.01),but there was significant difference in the drainage territory of the veins with same diameter.By using Chi-square analysis,venous diameter and drainage territory are classified and statistical frequency by 5 mm and 50 cm3 respectively,and there was statistically significant difference between them (X2 =61.97,P＜0.01).The mean value of drainage territory of RHV (RHVV) was 510.80 ± 168.33 cm3,and that of RFHV (drainage territory with reconstructed IRHV added) was 577.26± 156.72 cm3 respectively.The mean value of drainage territory of LHV (LHVV) was 292.70 ± 76.61 cm3,and that of LFHV (drainage territory with Ⅳ segment tributaries of MHV added) was 551.26 ± 111.82 cm3 respectively.In 25 grafts without MHV,the mean value of drainage territory of EfHV was 405.52-1038.43 cm3.In 43 donors donating grafts with MHV,the mean value of drainage territory of EfHV was 175.35-575.35 cm3.Conclusion There is significant difference in drainage territory of same diameter veins.Bigger diameter doesn't always mean bigger drainage territory.Hepatic vein drainage territory evaluation before LDLT has important clinical significance to formulate surgery scheme.

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has been playing an important role in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It is minimally invasive, easily repeatable and potentially curative. Many centers now accept it to be the best therapeutic choice for patients with early-stage HCC when liver transplantation or surgical resection is not suitable. In this article, we reviewed the indications, techniques , and clinical results of RFA in the treatment of HCC.Suitable patient selection, good pre-treatment planning,complete ablation, and careful post-treatment follow up are important. Techniques, such as artificial pleural effusion and ascites, contrast-enhanced ultrasonography-guided RFA,laparoscopic or open surgical approaches have reduced complications and expanded the indications for RFA.

Objective To investigate the effects of carboxymethytl pachymaram ( CMP ) on the methylation of SOCS-1 (suppressor of cytokine signaling-1) gene and the in vitro maturation of human mono-cyte-derived dendritic cells (DCs).Methods Human DCs were induced from the peripheral blood mono-cytes in vitro with the treatment of recombined human GM-CSF and interleukin-4 ( IL-4 ) and cultured with different concentrations of CMP (10, 50, and 100 mg/L).The methylation and expression of SOCS-1 gene were analyzed by methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction (MSP) and real-time PCR, respectively. The phenotypic markers of DCs were detected by flow cytometry .Mixed lymphocyte reaction ( MLR) and ELISA were performed to measure the lymphocyte proliferation induced by DCs and IL-12 secretion by DCs . Results CMP promoted the methylation of SOCS-1 gene, but inhibited the expression of SOCS-1 gene in dendritic cells at the concentrations of 50 mg/L and 100 mg/L.The expression of phenotypic markers (CD80, CD83, CD86 and HLA-DR), IL-12 secretion and lymphocyte proliferation induced by DCs were significantly enhanced in a dose dependent manner with the treatment of CMP .Compared with control group , the levels of methylated SOCS-1 gene and IL-12 and the lymphocyte proliferation index were increased upon the stimulation with 50 mg/L and 100 mg/L of CMP (P<0.01), but the expression of SOCS-1 gene was de-creased.The expression of CD80, CD83 and HLA-DR on DCs in the presence of 100 mg/L of CMP were higher than those of control group (P<0.05).Conclusion CMP could induce the methylation of SOCS-1 gene and the maturation of DCs derived from peripheral blood monocytes .

Objective To investigate SNP and distribution of haplotypes in differentially m ethylated region (DMR) upstream of H19 gene in Chinese Korean nationality in order to provide basic data for forensic application and population genetics research. Methods One hundred and one blood sam ples from unrelat-ed Chinese Korean individuals and 14 blood sam ples from 5 Chinese Korean intergenerational fam ilies which known genetic relationship were collected. The SNP in DMRupstream of H19 gene were investi-gated by PCR-cycle sequencing and McrB Cdigestion followed by PCR . The haplotypes detected by parentally im printed allele (PIA) m ethod and relevant genetic param eters were calculated. Results Thirteen SNPs (rs10840167, rs2525883, rs12417375, rs4930101, rs2525882, rs2735970, rs2735971, rs11042170, rs2735972, rs10732516, rs2071094, rs2107425, and rs4930098) and five haplotypes were detected in 1 174 bp target product in DMRupstream of H19 gene, with 9 SNPs having high discrim ination power as good genetic markers. The average gene diversity (GD) of haplotypes was 0.714. The maternal haplotype was confirm ed correctly by PIAm ethod from McrB C-digested products of genom ic DNA. Conclusion High polym orphism sexist in DMRupstream of H19 gene in Chinese Korean nationality. And determ ination of the maternal haplotype could furtherm ore enhance the forensic identification efficiency of im printed gene.

Objective:To established a modified implanting model of VX2 liver tumor in rabbit on the base of the classic implanting method, and compared the results within the two methods. Methods:30 rabbits with the mean weight of (2.65?0.29)kg were divided randomly into two groups with 15 rabbits each. The rabbits in Group A received classic implantation for induction of the liver tumor model, and Group B were inducted by injecting a piece of tumor tissue into the left anterior lobes of liver. Implanting time of each group was recorded and compared, and spiral CT scan was performed at 8th day, 15th day, 22nd day, 29th day postoperatively. The manifestation of tumors in CT scan was observed and tumor volume was calculated simultaneously with formula V=1/2ab2 (a=the shortest diameter and b=the longest diameter).Each tumor was confirmed through pathology. Results:The implanting time of Group A and Group B were (9.47?2.85)min and (5.85?1.62)min, respectively, with significant difference between them. Besides, there was statistical difference of the achievement ratio between two groups, as it was 53.3% for Group A and 86.7% for Group B. No significant difference was found for the tumor growth between two groups. Conclusion:Modified implanting method for induction of the rabbit liver tumor model was superior to the classic implanting method.

Objective To evaluate the outcome of liver transplantation in patients with recurrent liver cancer after resection.Methods Data of 23 patients underwent liver transplantation for recurrent liver cancer from April 2001 to March 2008 were retrospectively collected and analyzed.Results Previous history of liver resection had little negative effect in subsequent liver transplantation in technical aspect.Liver function recovered uneventfully after transplantation in all cases.Alpha fetoprotein(AFP) recovered to normal value in 13 of 17 cases with elevated AFP before transplantation within one month after operation.Five cases(21.74%) had postoperative complications.Nineteen cases(82.61%) were followed up,average follow-up duration were 610 days.There were 5 cases(26.32%) of cancer recurrence and 6 deaths during follow-up,survival rate was 68.42%.Conclusion Liver transplantation is a reasonable treatment for recurrent liver cancer after resection.

Objective: To invesigate the epidemic status of the metabolic syndrome (MS) among mainland Chinese adolescents aged 10-17 in 2010-2012. Methods: Data were collected from Chinese Nutrition and Health Surveillance in 2010-2012. Multi-stage stratified proportion to the population cluster random sampling method was conducted to determine 16 872 adolescents in 150 counties from 31 provinces in mainland China. The epidemic status of metabolic syndrome was analyzed by China criterion (defined by Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association) and Cook criterion, respectively. The prevalence of MS and 95%CI were calculated through weighted complex sampling processing by population data released by the National Bureau of Statistics in 2009. Results: Based on China criterion, the weighted prevalence of MS was 2.4% (95% CI: 2.1%-2.6%) among Chinese adolescents aged 10-17. Prevalence in urban was higher than in rural (2.8%, 95%CI: 2.4%-3.2% and 1.9%, 95%CI:1.6%-2.3%, respectively). Prevalence in boys and girls were 2.7% (95% CI: 2.3%-3.0%), and 2.0% (95% CI: 1.7%-2.4%), respectively. Based on Cook criterion, the weighted prevalence was 4.3% (95% CI: 4.0%-4.7%) . The highest weighted prevalence of the components of the metabolic syndrome was low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (26.8%, 95% CI: 26.0%-27.5%), followed by high fasting glucose (11.5%, 95% CI: 11.0%-12.0%), abdominal obesity (11.1%, 95%CI: 10.6%-11.7%) , hypertriglyceridemia (8.8%, 95%CI: 8.4%-9.3%) , and high blood pressure (6.4%, 95% CI: 6.0%-6.8%). Conclusion Among the five indicators of metabolic syndrome, the prevalence of central obesity and hypertriglyceridemia were relative high in Chinese adolescents aged 10-17 years, though the prevalence of metabolic syndrome was not high.

Objective:To investigate the effect of bilateral globus pallidus internus deep brain stimulation (GPi-DBS) on motor performance, quality of life, sleep quality, neuropsychological status, and mood in patients with Meige syndrome.Methods:The clinical data of 17 patients with Meige syndrome accepted bilateral GPi-DBS in Department of Neurosurgery, People's Hospital of Peking University from May 2019 to March 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Established and validated rating scales were used to assess the motor performance, quality of life, sleep quality, neuropsychological status, and mood at baseline, and 1 and 2 years after GPi-DBS.Results:Burke-Fahn-Marsden dystonia rating scale (BFMDRS) motor total scores decreased from 14.4±6.2 at baseline to 4.3±2.2 and 3.5±1.9 at 1 and 2 years after GPi-DBS, with significant differences ( P<0.05). BFMDRS disability total scores decreased from 6.2±4.0 at baseline to 2.8±2.0 and 2.2±1.5 at 1 and 2 years after GPi-DBS, with significant differences ( P<0.05). In 36-item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36), the scores of physical function, role-physical, general health sub-items at 1 and 2 years after GPi-DBS were significantly higher than those at baseline ( P<0.05). No significant differences were noted in scores of sleep quality, neuropsychological function, or mood scales at 1 and 2 years after GPi-DBS compared with those at baseline ( P>0.05). Conclusion:Bilateral GPi-DBS is effective and safe in Meige syndrome, which can improve dystonic symptom and quality of life without adverse effects on sleep quality, neuropsychological function, or emotional status.

Objective To analyze the hemodynamic parameters of Stanford type B aortic dissection based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), so as to make a thorough evaluation of the disease.Methods Based on CTA images of a patient with complex Stanford type B aortic dissection, the three-dimensional model and hemodynamic numerical simulation were carried out to analyze the velocity distribution of flow field and intersecting fracture profile, as well as the wall shear stress. Results The maximum velocity of blood flow at the entry tear and re-entry tear could reach 1.2 m/s and 2 m/s, respectively, providing references for further evaluation on aortic rupture position and prediction of aortic rupture risk. An obvious low wall shear stress zone was formed on false lumen wall near the entry tear, which was consistent with the thrombus position in the patient. Conclusions CFD could effectively analyze the hemodynamic characteristics of complex aortic dissection, obtain the correlation between aortic dissection and wall shear stress at aorta arch and descending aorta, which contributed to guiding clinical assessment of aortic function for preventing the diseases.
