Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2013;(12):42-45
Objective To provide reference basis for protection and sustainable utility of S. baicalensis by a large scale of nationwide resources survey of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi in China. Methods On the basis of literature research, survey was conducted on geographical distribution, resources reserves, recovery and growth of the resources status etc. of S. baicalensis. Results The wild resources of S. baicalensis was wildly distributed in the emperate zone in north of China and the distribution was discontinuous. Large differences were showed between different populations in entironment, coenotype and plant morphology. The cultivated resources of S. baicalensis were mainly distributed in Shanxi, Hebei, Gansu, Shandong provinces and Inner Mongolia autonomous region. There were diverse cultivation models and differences existed in production and quality in different regions. Conclusion Destruction of the wild resources and unstable of the resource quality were two main problems of S. baicalensis resources. It was suggested that researches on quality formation and control should be carried out, and institutional guarantee was essential to protect and sustainable use the plant resources of S. baicalensis.

Immunoglobulins ( Ig ) , also called antibodies, are important components in humoral -mediated immunity. Ig can bind with their receptors, called immunoglobulin receptors ( IgR ) , trigger biologic activities respectively. Different sub-types of Igs show different function. And IgRs have been treated as therapeutic targets in inflammation and immunity related dis-eases for many years. This article reviewed the recent progresses in the study of IgR function and its therapeutic role in inflamma-tion and immunity related diseases.

Objective To establish a mini-column centrifugation-HPLC method to determine the entrapment efficiency of levodopa-loaded PEGylated-solid lipid nanoparticles. Methods A dextran gel(Sephadex G-50) mini-column centrifugation was employed to separate the free drug from solid lipid nanoparticles. The content of levodopa was qualified by HPLC.Results Under the applied chromatographic condition, the excipients had no influence on the determination of levodopa.A calibrated linear of levodopa concentration was within 10.54-527.00 μg·mL-1.The recoveries of high, medium and low concentrations of levodopa were 99.13%,99.51% and 99.04%(RSD were 1.25%,1.91% and 1.71%), respectively. The free levodopa was well separated from solid lipid nanoparticles by using mini-column centrifugation. The addition of blank solid lipid nanoparticles recovery was 98.84% with RSD of 0.80%(n=3).The average adsorption rates of the three concentrations of free levodopa were 100.00%,98.75% and 98.56%(RSD were 0.00%,0.19% and 0.18%,n=3),respectively.The adsorption rate of the physical mixtures of three different concentrations of drugs and empty PEGylated solid lipid nanoparticles were 99.68%,98.46% and 99.21%(RSD were 1.52%,0.23% and 0.21%),respectively.Conclusion The method was simple, accurate and reproducible, which can be used for determination of the entrapment efficiency of levodopa-loaded PEGylated-solid lipid nanoparticles.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2000;0(06):-
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of postoperative radiotherapy in the treatment of parotid gland carcinoma. Methods: Eighty-six postoperated patients with parotid gland carcinoma( 7 in stage Ⅰ, 28 in stage Ⅱ, 33 in stage Ⅲ and 18 in stage Ⅳ) were radiated by 60Co ?-ray or linear accelerator X-ray combined with electron beam. All patients were diagnosed by pathology and followed up for more than 5 years. Results: The five year survival rate and the local control rate were 73.3% and 87.2% respectively. Poor prognosis was observed in the cases with the neoplastic classification of undifferentiated carcinoma, sequamous cell carcinoma and malignant pleomorphic adenoma, but the better prognosis was obtained in the cases with acinic cell carcinoma and mucoepidermoid carcinoma. Poor prognosis was observed in the cases with stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ of clinical stage. Radiotherapy undertaken in 2 weeks after surgical operation gave higher 5- year survival ratio( 83.8%). The group given 51~60 Gy radiation showed 82.9% of five- year survival rate. Conclusion: The combination of surgery with radiation is effective in the treatment of parotid gland carcinoma.Radiation of 51~60 Gy 2 weeks after operation may result in better prognosis. Neoplastic type and clinical stage are important factors for prognosis.

BACKGROUND: As a candidate gene of congenital heart disease, ACTC1 gene is related to congenital atrial septal defect inhumans.OBJECTIVE: To perform a mutation screen of ACTC1 gene in 110 nuclear families of congenital heart disease.METHODS: A case-control study was conducted based on 110 nuclear families of congenital heart disease and 300 normalhuman beings with no reported cardiac malformation. Six fragments in the coding region of ACTC1 gene was amplified by PCR invitro using five primers pairs. PCR products were screened for gene mutations.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: A novel G-to-A variant was found at the third nucleotide of the intron downstream from exon 5.This mutation existed in a 5-year-old female with an isolated ventricular septal defect and her 30-year-old father, who had noreported cardiac anomalies. This mutation was not detected in 300 normal controls. These findings indicate that the mutation maybe related with congenital ventricular septal defects in humans.

Objective To observe the difference of caveolin-3(CAV3) gene polymorphism between normal people and diabetic patients in Chinese Han population. Methods Exon gene polymorphism in 50 normal people and 50 T2DM patients were detected by PCR-SSCP. Results The cumulative incidence rate of electrophoretic variation in T2DM patients was 48%, while cumulative incidence rate of normal people was 7%(P<0.001). It was proved that in the variant bands, there were base variant. Conclusions The variant base number of CAV3 gene in human T2DM samples are significantly more than the normal which can be preliminary detected by PCR-SSCP. It indicates that CAV3 gene polymorphism may be one of the genetic backgrounds for the occurence of Chinese T2DM.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of edaravone pretreatment on pulmonary inflammatory response during selective lobar blockade in patients undergoing thoracotomy,MethodsSixty ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients of both sexes, aged 40-64 yr,weighing 50-80 kg,undergoing esophagectomy were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =15 each):the one-lung ventilation group (group OLV),the edaravone pretreatment + one-lung ventilation group (group E + OLV),the Univent tube selective lobar blockade group (group U) and the edaravone pretreatment + Univent tube selective lobar blockade group (group E + U).Padents in groups OLV and U were intubated with the double lumen endobronchial tube and Univent tube, respectively.Edaravone at a dose of 1 mg/kg was infused into patients at 5 min before one-lung ventilation in group E + OLV and before selective lobar blockade in group E + U,respectively. The patients in groups OLV and U received the equal volume of normal saline. The blood samples (5 ml ) were then drawn from the radial artery after anesthesia induction (T0),at 60 min after onelung ventilation (T1),at the end of operation (T2 ) and 120 min after operation (T3) for detecting the plasma concentrations of TNF-α,IL-6 and IL- 10 by enzyme-linked immunosorbent aesay.ResultsCompared with the group OLV and U,the plasma concentrations of TNF-α and IL-6 decreased at T2 and T3 in group E + OLV and group E + U (P < 0.05).CondusionEdaravone pretreatment can reduce pulmonary inflammatory response during selective lobar blockade in patients undergoing thoracotomy.
