Objective To investigate the radiosensitization effect and underlying mechanism of Paeonol on human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 in vitro. Methods Cells were assigned to following groups:control,Paeonol alone, irradiation alone,Paeonol combined with irradiation. The effect of Paeonol on cell proliferation was evaluated by the MTT assay. Clonogenic assay was performed to measure the radiosensitization effect of Paeonol under three concentrations around 20% IC50.Cell apoptosis was determined by TUNEL assay and flow cytometry (FCM).The expression of Survivin protein was analyzed by Western blot. Results Cell growth was inhibited by Paeonol in a dose-dependent manner and the IC50 of Paeonol was (25.2 ± 2.1 ) mg/L. Clonogenic assay showed that Paeonol could markedly enhance cell radiosensitivity and the sensitizing enhancement ratio (SER) was 1.29.After the pretreatment of Paeonol with different concentrations,radiation-induced apoptosis increased with the doses at 24,48,and 72 h post-irradiation ( t =4.95,3.03,3.78,4.59,2.88,3.70,5.54,P < 0.05 ). Moreover, the protein expression of Survivin was obviously down-regulated by 22.6% - 56.7% ( t =4.15,7.30,13.47,P <0.05 ) due to the treatment of Paeonol. When the Paeonol-treated cells were further irradiated with 6 Gy X-rays,the expression of Survivin was reduced to 22.2% - 69.4% ( t =4.30,8.36,16.34,P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Paeonol had radiosensitization effect on the human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 in vitro, where the down-regulated Survivin protein might be involved.

OBJECTIVETo explore the influence of ursodeoxycholic acid on the therapeutic effects of low-calorie diet in steatohepatitis with obesity and hyperlipidemia.
METHODSThirty-five Sprague-Dawley rats fed with high-fat diet for 10 weeks were randomly allocated into 3 groups, and continued to experiment for 2 weeks. The animals in model group (n = 10) were still fed with high-fat diet; low-calorie diet group (n = 10) with common diet but only one third of the amount of normal demand; ursodeoxycholic acid group (n = 15) with low-calorie diet and ursodeoxycholic acid (15 mg/kg.d(-1)); and another 9 rats with common diet for 12 weeks as normal group.
RESULTSCompared with normal group, such indexes as body weight, liver weight, and the level of serum lipids and aminotransferase were all increased significantly in model group. Furthermore, all rats in model group developed steatohepatitis. On the other hand, such indexes as body weight and the degree of steatosis in rats of low-calorie diet group were decreased sharply compared with those in model group, but neither disorders of serum lipid nor the degree of hepatic inflammation and necrosis in low-calorie diet group were improved obviously. Disorders of serum lipid, aspartate aminotransferase, hepatic inflammation and necrosis in ursodeoxycholic acid group were ameliorated to some extent.
CONCLUSIONSUrsodeoxycholic acid might help to improve the therapeutic effects of low-calorie diet on steatohepatitis with obesity and hyperlipidemia.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2022;43(9):1342-1345
Objective:
To explore the associations between parental marital status with bullying and self injurious behavior among primary and secondary school students, and to provide intervention support for the prevention of self injurious behavior of primary and secondary school students.
Methods:
A total of 11 107 primary and secondary school students in Nanyang, Anyang and Xinxiang city from central China were selected using multistage clustering sampling method. A questionnaire survey regarding bullying was administered.
Results:
Report rate of bullying in boys (18.1%) was higher than that in girls (9.8%), while report rate of self injurious behavior in girls (3.9%) was higher than that in boys(3.2%)( χ 2=155.56, 4.64, P <0.05). The severity of bullying ( r =0.44) and types of bullying ( r =0.42) were positively correlated with self injurious behaviors( P <0.01), while parental marital status was negatively correlated with self injurious behavior( r=-0.11, P <0.01). Parental marital status negatively moderated the relationship between severity of bullying( β =-0.01), types ( β =-0.05) with self injurious behavior( P <0.01).
Conclusion
Parental marital status plays a moderating role in the association between bullying and self injurious behavior among primary and middle school students. The lower parental marital status, the higher rate of self injurious behavior among bullied children. Comparison of bullied rates among primary and secondary school students with different characteristics.

OBJECTIVETo study the expression of tenascin in normal and fibrotic rat liver.
METHODSLiver fibrosis induced in rat with CCl(4) were divided into three stages: the stage of hepatic injury (4 weeks), early stage of hepatic fibrosis (8 weeks) and later stage of hepatic fibrosis (12 weeks). Tenascin expression in liver tissue was observed by immunohistochemical method and in situ hybridization using digoxigenin-labelled DNA probe.
RESULTSIn normal rat liver there was a weak staining for tenascin. In both liver injury stage and early stage of hepatic fibrosis, both mRNA signal and immunostaining for tenascin were significantly increased as compared to that in normal liver. In later stage of hepatic fibrosis, mRNA signal and immunostaining for tenascin were decreased compared with that in early stage of hepatic fibrosis. The cellular source of tenascin in liver mainly restricted in mesenchymal cells.
CONCLUSIONSTenascin is a component of the extracellular matrix of liver tissue. Plays a role in early matrix organization during liver fibrogenesis.
