Risk factors of hyperamylasemia in 152 diabetic ketoacidosis(DKA)patients who had no acute pancreatitis were examined.Serum levels of hemodiastase, natrium, kalium, chlorine, calcium, phosphonium, creatinine, carbon dioxide combining power, osmotic pressure, blood glucose, blood lipids and uric acid were measured. With hemodiastase and other 14 factors as independent variables, the multiple linear regression analysis was performed and the partial regression coefficient was estimated.Blood glucose, serum natrium, osmotic pressure and triglyceride entered the regression equation, and their partial coefficients were 10.26,10.35,2.21 and 8.00,respectively.The constant quantitv was -2162.06.Compared with amylase-normal group, hyperamylasemia group showed statistically significant difference in blood glucose, serum natrium, osmotic pressure and triglyceride levels.Higher blood glucose and triglyceride might be the primary causes of hyperamylasemia.

Objective To study the increased radiosensitivity of tumor cells by triterpene acids of loquat leaf (TAL) and mechanism. Methods C6 and MG63 cells were pretreated by TAL,and then were exposed to X-rays at 1,2,3,5,7 Gy.Clonogenic assay was used to evaluate those tumor cells survival fraction (SF) to calculate the sensitization enhancement ratios (SER) of TAL.The cellular micronuclei ratios of tumor cells were analyzed by micronuclei assay.Additionally, the changes of Rad51 and XRCC4 levels were observed by RT-PCR and Western blot. Results D0 values were decreased to 1.31 and 2.85 Gy in C6 and MG63 cells by TAL pretreatment respectively. The SER value of the effect of TAL on C6 and MG63 cells was 1.73 and 2.04,respectively.There was a statistical difference in the cellular micronuclei ratios between tumor cells with TAL above 2 Gy and those without TAL (C6:t =-8.372--2.476,P <0.05 ; MG63:t =-4.03--2.557,P < 0.05).TAL attenuated the expression of XRCC4 at transcriptional and translational level, but not for Rad51,a key gene in homologous recombination repair (HRR).Conclusions TAL pretreatment could increase the lethal effect of X-rays on tumor cells in vitro. The mechanism might be involved in the inhibition of non-homologous end joining (NHEJ).

OBJECTIVETo investigate the association of serum pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF) level and polymorphisms in PEDF gene promoter region -358G→A with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) of Han Nationality in Fujian Province.
METHODSA total of 282 T2DM patients with NAFLD (DM1 group) and 170 age- and gender-matched T2DM patients without NAFLD (DM2 group) were examined for PEDF gene SNP-358G→A polymorphisms using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). Serum pigment epithelium-derived factor(PEDF) level, fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting insulin (FINS) and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) were also measured.
RESULTSThe patients in DM1 group showed a significantly higher mean level of serum PEDF than those in DM2 group (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis revealed that PEDF level was an independent risk factor for NAFLD in T2DM. The frequencies of PEDF gene -358G→A genotypes (GG, GA, and AA) and alleles (G/A) differed significanly between DM1 and DM2 groups (P<0.05). In terms of PEDF gene SNP -358G→A alleles, the GA genotype carriers had a 2.032 times higher risk of developing NAFLD compared with the GG genotype carriers, and the risk increased to 2.068 times in the carriers of the A allele (GA and AA genotypes; P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONSerum PEDF level is an independent risk factor of NAFLD in T2DM. Elevated serum PEDF level is a protective factor against insulin resistance. In T2DM patients, PEDF gene promoter region -358G→A polymorphism is associated with NAFLD, and the A allele contributes to an increased risk of NAFLD.

Objective To investigate medication adherence and its influencing factors in community-based hypertensive patients in the Pearl River Delta of Guangdong Province, and lay the foundation for the development of targeted compliance interventions. Methods Between July 2015 and October 2016, a multi-stage cluster sampling method was used to conduct a community-based diagnostic survey in the Pearl River Delta region.A total of 1 829 community-based hypertension patients in this survey population were used to investigate medication adherence, the factors of which were derived through a multi-factor logistics regression analysis. Results The average medication-adherence score of hypertensive patients surveyed in this study was (4.6 ± 1.8), and patients with good medication adherence accounted for 62.82%(1 149/1 829).There were significant differences in medication adherence among patients according to their age, household registration types, marital status, level of education, employment status, medical payment methods, per capita monthly household income, drinking status, and family history of hypertension (P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis found that medication adherence was affected substantially by the type of household registration:local household types (OR= 0.537, 95% CI: 0.415-0.695); education level: college, bachelor and above (OR=2.139,95% CI:1.100-4.160); employment status: self-paying (OR=0.591, 95% CI: 0.376-0.930); and a family history of hypertension (OR= 1.279, 95% CI: 1.012-1.617).Conclusions It is necessary to pay more attention to medication adherence in patients with hypertension in communities.Given the influencing factors and characteristics illuminated by this study,it is suggested that various measures be taken to prevent and intervene in poor medication adherence, to improve the curative effect of hypertensive patients in communities.

Gradual distraction with an external fixator is a widely used treatment for severe postburn ankle contracture (SPAC). However, application of external fixators is complex, and conventional two-dimensional (2D) imaging-based surgical planning is not particularly helpful due to a lack of spatial geometry. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the surgical planning process for this procedure with patient-specific three-dimension-printed models (3DPMs). In this study, patients coming from two centers were divided into two cohorts (3DPM group vs. control group) depending on whether a 3DPM was used for preoperative surgical planning. Operation duration, improvement in metatarsal-tibial angle (MTA), range of motion (ROM), the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) scores, complications, and patient-reported satisfaction were compared between two groups. The 3DPM group had significantly shorter operation duration than the control group ((2.0±0.3) h vs. (3.2±0.3) h,
