Objective To apply the techniques of CAD/CAM in the repair of defects and correction of deformity on the jaw bones so as to improve the accuracy and controllability of operations. Methods With CAD techniques,3D bone model was reconstructed based on CT images. Then,a repairing model was created with mirror operation on original model. The physical models of original model and repairing model were fabricated through rapid prototyping.Based on physical models, operation plan and model surgery with pre-forming plate could be designed. Results The designed operation plan and pre-forming plate techniques of CAD/CAM were successfully applied in eight patients, with satisfactory results. Conclusions With techniques of CAD/CAM,reconstructing and fabricating the original bone model and mirror repair model are very helpful for designing operation plan for maxillofacial surgery. It also can improve the surgery accuracy and save operation time obviously.

Objective To investigate the effects of hypoxia on malignant phenotype of a hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)cell line and its molecular basis. Methods Human HCC cell line with highly metastatic potential(MHCC97H)was grown under hypoxia(induced by 100 μmol/L CoCl_2)and normoxic conditions respectively. To observe the effects of hypoxia on MHCC97H cells was observed, the tumorigenicity was carried out by soft agar cloning method in vitro and inoculation in nude mice in vivo;Invasive and metastatic potential were measured.Experiments with and/or without Matrigel in vitro and a metastatic human HCC orthotopic nude mice model by HAL in vivo.To clarify the molecular background, the proliferation of cells were analyzed by MTT assay and the cell cycle was detected by flow cytometry; The expression of embryonic stem cell(ES)-like genes(Oct4,Nanog and Sox2)were detected by real-time RT-PCR;CD90~+ and CD133~+ subpopulation from MHCC97H cells were isolated by flow cytometry and the expressions of CD90 and CD133 of MHCC97H cells were analyzed by immunofluorescence. Results Hypoxia increased tumor migration(t=2.792,P=0.023),invasiveness(t=7.624,P<0.0001)and clone forming ability(t=3.292,P=0.011)of MHCC97H cells in vitro, and promoted tumorigenesis(x~2=8.571,P=0.015)and pulmonary metastasis(x~2=5.507,P=0.031)in vivo. The proliferation of MHCC97H cells arrest under hypoxic conditions accompanied with increased proportion of cells in G1 phase, the expressions of Oct4,Nanog,Sox2 significantly increased in response to hypoxia, but the fluorescence intensity and number of CD90~+ and CD133~+ MHCC97H cells decreased or unchanged. Conclusion Hypoxia increases aggressiveness of MHCC97H cells, which was correlated with the acquisition of embryonic stem cell-like characteristics.

BACKGROUND:The magnetic resonance molecular imaging used in the research of lumbar disc degeneration includes T2 mapping and T1ρtechnologies at present.
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the feasibility of 1.5 T MR equipment on T2 mapping of New Zealand white rabbits lumbar disc.
METHODS:T2 mapping images of New Zealand white rabbit lumbar discs were obtained on 1.5 T MR equipment. The regions of interest T2 values of lumbar discs were measured with post-processing workstation.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Sagittal and coronal T2 maps of 3-month rabbit discs were obtained
satisfactorily on 1.5 T MR equipment. The regions of interest T2 values of nucleus pulposus in L 4/5 , L 5/6 and L 6/7 discs were (104.6±14.0) ms, (109.1±13.8) ms and (109.5±15.1) ms respectively at Pfirrmann
regions of interest T2 values of anterior annulus fibrosus in L 4/5 , L 5/6 and L 6/7 discs were (82.1±9.5) ms, (80.4± 11.2) ms and (79.9±10.6) ms respectively, and T2 values of posterior annulus fibrosus in L 4/5 , L 5/6 and L 6/7 discs were (85.8±11.9) ms, (85.1±12.1) ms and (85.3±9.3) ms respectively. There were no significant differences in T2 values of nucleus pulposus, anterior annulus fibrosus and posterior annulus fibrosus in L 4/5 , L 5/6 and L 6/7 discs at PfirrmannⅠP>g 0ra.0d5e).( However, the T2 values of nucleus pulposus were higher than those of annulus
fibrosus in the same discs (P<0.01), and there were no significant differences in T2 values between the anterior and posterior annulus fibrosus (P>0.05). The T2 values of rabbit lumbar discs obtained on 1.5 T MR equipment can be used for quantitative assessment of intervertebral disc signal.

The sterilization effects of constant electromagnetic wave and instant pulse on foods and traditional Chinese medical pills are introduced in this paper. From the velum's voltage variation caused by the outward electric filed, the dielectric properties of membranaceous ion and the pass rate of the membranaceous ion, we could analyze the biological heating effect and the biological non-heating effect. The sterilization effect of constant electromagnetic wave is based on the biological heating effect, while the instant electromagnetic pulse is based on the biological non-heating effect. With the applied electronic field, the voltage of membrane could increase, which results in the gates of K+ open, and the flowing out of K+. And the variation of the membranaceous voltage makes the gates of Ca2+ open. The Ca2+ of large consistency could come into the cell by the gradient of voltage. It could induce the death of the cells. The greater the variation of membranaceous voltage becomes, the higher will be the death rate of the cells.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2011;28(6):1131-1135
The problem of noise in ventilator has always been an important topic to study in the development of the ventilator. A great number of data are showing that there are still large gaps of research and application levels in noise control of the ventilator between China and some more advanced foreign countries. In this study, with cooperation of the Shanghai Medical Equipment Limited Liability Company, we used the computational fluid dynamics (CFD), software FLUENT, adopted the standard k-epsilon turbulence model and the SIMPLE algorithm to simulate the inner flow field of the continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) ventilator's pressure generator. After a detailed analysis, we figured out that there are several deficiencies in this ventilator, like local reflow in volute, uneven velocity distribution and local negative pressure in inlet of the impeller, which easily lead to noise and affect the ventilator's performances. So, it needs to be improved to a certain extent.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2011;29(5):537-541
OBJECTIVETo study the sternocleidomastoid-clavicle myocutaneous flap (SCMCP) for repairing the compound operative defect after oral carcinoma resection, to observe its clinical effect, prognosis and advantages of SCMCP, and to develop a new operative method that implantation of dental implant can be performed simultaneously.
METHODSSixteen patients underwent reconstruction with SCMCP after oral carcinoma resection and neck dissection during 2007 to 2009. Four of them (25.00%) underwent simultaneously implantation of dental implants in the clavicular flaps.
RESULTSNone of these patients died postoperatively during the follow-up until now. One patient (6.25%) with buccal cancer encountered local recurrence resulting in reoperation, and the flap grows well up to now. A part of the skin paddle underwent necrosis in two patients (12.50%), local fluidity was found in 2 patients (12.50%), fracture of clavicle occurred during the operation in one patient (6.25%). All the patients had good pronunciation and oral diet with no difficulty.
CONCLUSIONSCMCP is easy to survive, simple to perform, the clavicular figure and function won't be destroyed significantly. SCMCP is a good operative method to repair the compound operative defect after oral carcinoma resection.
