The hypofractionation radiotherapy was.performed in 44 lesions in the way of 400cGy/fracfion,3 frac-tions/week,total dose of 2400~3600cGy. Results Overal pain relief rate was 90.28%, there were no significant differences between the two groups(P 0.05). The pain relief of hypofractionation radiotherapy was faster than anoth-er. Conclusion Radiotherapy is a very effective way to relieve pain in bone metastases from malignacies.
2.THE CHANGES OF VIP, SP, L-ENK AND SOM IN THE INTESTINE OF RAT EXPOSING TO ACUTE INTESTINAL RADIATION SICKNESS——A Radioimmunoassay, Immunocytochemistry and Microscopic Study
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1989;0(S1):-
The morphologc observation of immunoreactive structures and the quantitative analysis of VIP, SP, L-ENK and SOM in the small intestine of the control and the irradiated rats were studied by using the methods of immunocytochemistry (ICC) and radioimmunoassay (RIA). Meanwhile, histopathologic study was carried out by light and electron microscope (LM, EM). The results and findings are as follows.. (1) Viewed on LM, no obvious change of the enteric ganglia was found in the small intestine of the irradiated rats; while under EM, the axons and synaptic vesicles showing swelling and vacuolar degeneration was observed. These stuctures have close relation to the transport and release of the neurotransmitter. (2) The normal morphology and the distribution of the immunoreactive nerves and endocrine cells of VIP, SP, L-ENK and SOM were revealed in the intestine of rats by ICC method. Four kinds of immunoreactive peptidergic nerves were confirmed as an important part of the enteric nervous system. No obvious change was found on the structure of the peptidergrc nerves after 2000 rad r-irradiation. The radiosensitivity of the peptide-containing endocrine cells was similar to that of the intestinal epithelium. (3) We first confirmed with RIA that the level of the 4 regulatory peptides remarkably changed in the small intestine of the irradiated rats. Combining the physiologic founctions and the trends of the 4 regulatory peptides, as well as the pathologic characteristics and process after r-irradiation, it is proposed that the 4 kinds of peptide may be involved in the pathologic process of the mucosa damage and the disturbance of intestinal motility etc. in the intestinal radiation sickness of rats.
3.ELECTRON MICROSCOPE STUDIES ON THE HISTOCHEMICAL LOCALIZATION OF ATPase AND SUCCINIC DEHYDROGENASE ACTIVITIES IN THE CANCER CELL OF THE MOUSE MAMMARY GLAND
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1957;0(04):-
This paper presents the results of the histochemical study on the activities ofATPase and succinic dehydrogenase and their distribution in mammary gland cancercell of mice by means of electron microscopy. It was found that the activity of ATPase activated by Mg~(++)were mainly locatedon the mitochondrial membrane, the nuclear membrane and the nucleolus, and that ofATPase activated by Ca~(++)were located on the cristae and matrix of mitochondria aswell as the outer nuclear membrane, and also evenly distributed in the chromatin. The activity of the succinic dehydrogenase is mainly located on the cristae andthe inner membrane of mitochondria. An alternitive responses of strong and weakactivities of the enzyme were shown between the outer and inner nuclear membranes. In the mean-while,the activity of the succinic dehydrogenase was also shown in ahigh level in the outer cytoplasmic membrane and the inner nuclear membrane.

Objective To develop new methods to cultivate, retrieve and purify oligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OPCs). Methods Primary OPCs were isolated from mixed glial cultures of newborn Sprague Dawley rat forebrains by using a selective detachment procedure, further purified by differential adhesion, and maintained in a chemical conditioned medium. The characteristic of OPCs was determined by both electrophysiological recording and immunostaining. Results Immunocytochemical analysis revealed that more than 90% of the isolated cells expressed the OPCs-specific marker NG2. OPCs exhibited a moderate input resistance, delayed rectifier K+ currents (IK) that could be antagonized partly by TEA-Cl and CsCl, small tetrodotoxin (TTX) sensitive Na+ currents that failed to generate typical action potentials. Conclusion Isolation and purification by selective detachment and differential adhesion procedure are effective to obtain highly purified OPCs. OPCs, distinct from neuron, astrocyte, oligodendrocyte or microglia, possess unique physiological properties.

Objective To observe the postnatal development and perinatal electrophysiological characteristics of oligodendrocyte precursor cell (OPC) in rats. Methods Immunohistochemistry and Western blot were applied to determine the expression of NG2 OPC in cerebral cortex and hippocampus at various developmental stages of SD rats. Electrophysiological characteristics of OPC were also recorded in slices of 7-day rats. Results The majority of hippocampal and cerebral OPC exhibited stellate shape,a small cell body with a few processus. Total population of the NG2 immunopositive OPC was numerous at P7d in cerebral cortex and hippocampus. OPC expressed in adult rats with slightly more quantity. Moreover,OPC in hippocampus of P7d rats typically exhibited small inward sodium current and weak active responses, whereas only outward potassium current and inactive responses were recorded in white matter OPC of P7d rats. Conclusion Total population of OPC and relative optical density of NG2 are the highest in P7d rats at the postnatal developmental stages. OPC in cerebrum and hippocampus of P7d rats displays electrophysiological heterogeneity.

To investigate the nursing difference between abdominal aortic aneurysm patients undergone open surgery and endovascular graft exclusion, a comparative study was carried out in two groups of patients with infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms ( n =148), either by open surgical approach( n =96) or by endovascular stented graft technology( n =52). Four problems were compared between the two groups: (1) time of hospitalization, (2) dependency on nursing, (3)mobility after surgery, and (4) analgesic requirements. Data were obtained from a designated data sheet. The perioperation condition of the patients had no difference between the two groups, the time of hospitalization, dependency on nursing, mobility after surgery, and analgesic requirements in the endovascular stent repair group was shortened obviously. Analysis of the data can help us optimize the nursing process for patients undergoing open surgery and endovascular graft exclusion.

Xylanase is the key enzyme to degrade xylan that is a major component of hemicellulose. The enzyme has potential industrial applications in the food, feed, paper and flax degumming industries. The use of xylanases becomes more and more important in the paper industry for bleaching purposes. Xylanases used in the pulp bleaching process should be stable and active at high temperature and alkaline pH. Thermophilic and alkalophilic xylanases could be obtained by screening the wild type xylanases or engineering the mesophilic and neutral enzymes. In this paper, we reviewed recent progress of screening of the thermophilic and alkalophilic xylanases, molecular mechanism of thermal and alkaline adaptation and molecular engineering. Future research prospective was also discussed.
