Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals provide an objective physiological index for the identification of the driver's fatigue state. It is very important to choose appropriate channels and EEG signal features adaptively due to the features varying with different subjects and time. A support vector machine (SVM) based increasing feature selection algorithm for driving fatigue EEG classification is presented in this paper. The algorithm is a method to select EEG channels and features for driving fatigue adaptively in an ascending order. We can select the optimal feature each time from the remaining candidate features using the optimized SVM model minimum error rate as the index. The experimental calculation has characteristics of using 16 electrode channels which cover the whole head in the main area, of selecting 208 candidate features as the initial set, of selecting to the EEG data calculation recorded in 5 different time periods of a subject, and of choosing error rate of 2% as the algorithm termination condition. The selected features and models, therefore, can reach a high level of classification and generalization ability.

Objective: To examine the effect of SiO2 exposure on the airway surface microenvironment and NIMA-related kinase 7 (NEK7)/nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor containing pyrin domain 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome in rats. Methods: Twenty-four specific pathogen-free male rats of the SD strain were randomly divided into the control group and the model group, of 12 rats in each group. Rats in the model group were given SiO2 suspensions through disposable tracheal intubation perfusion to model silicosis in rats, while rats in the control group was perfused with the same amount of physiological saline. The pH value and glucose level were measured in the rat bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) 14 and 28 days after modeling. Lung tissues were stained with HE and Masson and the distribution of inflammatory cells and the deposition of pulmonary interstitial collagens were observed in lung tissues under a light microscope. The expression of transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1), collagen type Ⅰ(ColⅠ), collagen type Ⅲ (Col Ⅲ), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), NLRP3, N-terminal domain of Gasdermin D (GSDMD-NT), caspase-1, and NEK7 was quantified in lung specimens using immunohistochemistry. Results: Lower pH values were measured in rat BALF in the model group than in the control group 14 [(6.38±0.05) vs. (6.68±0.08), P<0.05] and 28 days after modeling [(6.63±0.14) vs. (6.86±0.05), P<0.05], while higher glucose levels were seen in the model group than in the control group 14 [(0.39±0.06) vs. (0.31±0.04) mg/dL, P<0.05] and 28 days after modeling [(0.39±0.08) vs. (0.31±0.06) mg/dL, P<0.05]. HE and Masson staining showed mild to moderate alveolitis and pulmonary fibrosis in rats 14 days post-exposure to SiO2, and showed moderate to severe alveolitis and pulmonary fibrosis 28 days post-exposure. Immunohistochemistry detected higher TGF-β1, ColⅠ, Col Ⅲ, IL-1β, NLRP3, GSDMD-NT, caspase-1 and NEK7 expression in rat lung tissues in the model group than in the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusions SiO2 exposure may cause changes in rat airway surface microenvironment, including BALF acidification and elevated glucose. Pyroptosis induced by activation of NEK7-associated NLRP3 inflammasome may be an important mechanism of pulmonary fibrosis caused by silicosis.

Objective.The purpose of this study was to assess the renal graft expression of ICAM-1(intercellular adhesion molecule-1) nd LFA-1(lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1)molecule with relation to graft rejection.Methods.Rat kiney transplantation was performed according to the procedure of Kamada with some modification.Experimental rats were divided into 5 groups.The survival time of recipient rats and function of grafts after renal transplantation were observed.The sections of renal graft were stained for monoclonal antibody ICAM-1 and LFA-1, and then quantification of ICAM-1 and LFA-1 expression was accomplished by computer image analysis.Results.ICAM-1 and LFA-1 increased significantly in the renal allograft rejection group as compared with the non-rejection groups(P＜0.05).Conluson.Both biopsy of renal graft and monitoring of ICAM-1 and LFA-1 are useful tools in diagnosing and treating acute rejection.

Objective To explore the related influencing factors of androgenic alopecia(AGA)in young women(FAGA).Methods A total of 296 cases of FAGA initially diagnosed in the dermatology clinic of this hospital from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the observation group,and 296 young women without suffering from FAGA in the physical examination of this hospital at the same time were selected as the control group.The clinical data were compared between the two groups and the influencing factors causing FAGA in young women were analyzed.Results The familial inheritance history,often staying up,sleep disor-der,like to eat high carbohydrate food,like to eat high fat food,high mental stress,going on a diet,irregular menstruation,childbearing history and complicating other diseases had statistical differences between the two groups(P＜0.05).The multivariate logistic regression analysis results showed that the familial inheritance history,often staying up,sleep disorder,like to eat high carbohydrate food,like to eat high fat food,high men-tal stress,going on a diet,irregular menstruation,childbearing history and complicating other diseases were the independent risk factors leading to FAGA(P＜0.05).Conclusion It is necessary to do a good job in the complicating disease screening of young female hair loss groups and pay attention to the related risk factors.

Oral cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors, and the evaluation of the oral cancer patients' quality of life is part of the treatment and nursing. At present, the evaluation scales on health related quality of life in oral cancer patients mainly include two major categories: universal scales and disease-specific scales. This article summarizes and compares the two categories of scales, and discusses the evaluation items in commonly used scales, applicable areas, and current application status, aiming at providing reference for the selection of evaluation tools in clinical practice.

Objective:To investigate the clinical manifestations, serological and cerebrospinal fluid test results for syphilis, imaging features, and prognoses of cerebral syphilitic gumma.Methods:The clinical data of 1 patient with cerebral syphilitic gumma admitted to Department of Neurology, Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University in March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. Papers about cerebral syphilitic gumma were searched from journals in Journal Citation Reports Q1 from 2000 to 2019, journals from 2020 to 2024 in PubMed, WOS, Embase, and Scopus databases, and journals from 2000 to 2024 in Wanfang Database, CNKI, and VIP database; the clinical data of 54 patients with cerebral syphilitic gumma reported in above databases and 1 patient in our hospital were collected for pooled analysis.Results:The main clinical manifestations of 55 cerebral syphilitic gumma patients included headache (32, 58.2%), lateral limb/facial weakness (25, 45.5%), nausea and vomiting (14, 25.5%), dizziness (11, 20.0%), sensory disturbances (10, 18.2%), blurred vision (7, 12.7%), seizure (5, 9.1%)), hearing loss (5, 9.1%), tinnitus (5, 9.1%), memory loss (3, 5.5%), aphasia (3, 5.5%), dysarthria (2, 3.6%), drop attack (2, 3.6%), weakness in opening eyes (2, 3.6%), unresponsiveness (1, 1.8%), Argyll-Robertson pupil (1, 1.8%), tabes dorsalis gait (1, 1.8%), and fever (1, 1.8%). In 51 patients who reported complete serologic test results, 45 patients (88.2%) were positive for non-specific antibodies to syphilis, and all patients were positive for specific antibodies to syphilis. In 34 patients underwent cerebrospinal fluid examination, 25 (73.5%) were positive for non-specific antibodies to syphilis, and 32 (94.1%) were positive for specific antibodies to syphilis. Isolated intracranial lesion (43, 78.2%) was mostly common in imaging test, and the frequently involved cranial sites were, orderly, the frontal lobe (14, 25.5%), parietal lobe (14, 25.5%), temporal lobe (5, 9.1%), frontotemporal lobe (3, 5.5%), frontoparietal lobe (2, 3.6%), parieto-occipital lobe (2, 3.6%), nucleus pulposus (1, 1.8%), clivus (1/55, 1.8%), and cerebral peduncle of the midbrain (1, 1.8%). Thirty patients (54.5%) were misdiagnosed as having other intracranial space-occupied diseases, orderly, glioma (11, 36.7%), metastatic tumors (5, 16.7%), meningiomas (4, 13.3%), other unexplained intracranial space-occupying (4, 13.3%), brain abscess (3, 10.0%), cavernous hemangioma (1, 3.3%), intracranial lymphoma (1, 3.3%), auditory nerve and pituitary tumors (1, 3.3%). Of the 42 patients who reported prognosis after anti-syphilitic treatments, 41 had varying degrees of improvement, and one died of brain herniation.Conclusion:Because of atypical clinical manifestations and lack of clear diagnostic criteria, cerebral syphilitic gumma is often misdiagnosed as intracranial tumors; cerebral syphilitic gumma should be considered in patients with positive non-specific antibodies to syphilis/specific antibodies to syphilis in serum and cerebrospinal fluid having neurological symptoms and intracranial space-occupied foci; timely diagnosed and treated patients can prognosed well.

Silicotic nodules and pulmonary fibrosis are histopathological appearance in silicosis patients after long-term inhalation of crystalline silica particles, and are difficult to reverse and recover. Research on the pathogenesis and treatment strategies of silicosis has significantly lagged behind medical progress and clinical needs, resulting in the disease remaining a thorny clinical problem. Traditional Chinese medicine extracts or compound preparations have become a hot issue in exploring silicosis treatment strategies in recent years. This paper described the main pathological processes of pulmonary fibrosis caused by silicosis, followed by introducing its main pathogenesis mechanisms, including transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1)/Smad signaling pathway, oxidative stress reaction, apoptosis, and autophagy. In addition, it briefly described the research progress, targets, and intervention effects of selected traditional Chinese medicine extracts, which provides a scientific basis for the theoretical and clinical research of traditional Chinese medicine extracts in inhibiting pulmonary fibrosis. To change the clinical status quo of silicosis fibrosis which is difficult to control and reverse, the paper proposed that we can further explore the pathogenesis and progression mechanisms of silicosis and drug treatment strategy, and focus on the transformation of basic research into clinical practice.

Objective: To investigate the blood lipid levels and prevalence of dyslipidemia in people with hypertension and diabetes in Henan province. Methods: From April 2016 to April 2017, multi-stage cluster sampling was adopted to investigate 71 285 local residents aged between 35 and 75 from 6 districts and counties in Henan province including Zhongmu county of Zhengzhou city, Huojia county of Xinxiang city, Hualong district of Puyang city, Qi county of Hebi city, Xigong district of Luoyang city, and Wugang city of Pingdingshan city. Blood samples were collected. According to the diagnostic criteria of hypertension and diabetes, the study population was divided into control group (n=29 427), hypertension group (n=21 965), diabetes group (n=8 009) and hypertension-diabetes group (n=11 884). Comparisons on blood lipid levels and dyslipidemia between 4 groups were performed. Results: The total cholesterol (TC) level of all subjects was 4.37 (3.78, 5.05) mmol/L. The triglyceride (TG) level was 1.27 (0.97, 1.80) mmol/L, the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) level was 2.34 (1.88, 2.88) mmol/L and the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) level was 1.31 (1.08, 1.59) mmol/L. Except for the TC level in women aged 65-75 years and LDL-C levels in women aged 55-64 and 65-75 years, there were significant differences in TC, TG, LDL-C and HDL-C levels between subjects of control group, hypertension group, diabetes group, and hypertension-diabetes group in different age ranges (including 35-44, 45-54, 55-64,and 65-75 years) and genders(all P<0.01).Except for the LDL-C and HDL-C in men aged 35-44 years and LDL-C in women aged 65-75 years, there were significant differences in the dyslipidemia rates of TC, TG, LDL-C and HDL-C between subjects of control group, hypertension group, diabetes group and hypertension-diabetes group in different age ranges and genders(P<0.01 or <0.05). After adjusting for age, gender, smoking, drinking, snoring, region, and body mass index, multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that hypertension (OR=1.221, 95%CI 1.113-1.339, P<0.01), diabetes (OR=1.636, 95%CI 1.461-1.833, P<0.01) and hypertension-diabetes (OR=1.832, 95%CI 1.658-2.023, P<0.01) were independent risk factors for TC abnormality. Hypertension (OR=1.566, 95%CI 1.478-1.659, P<0.01), diabetes (OR=2.182, 95%CI 2.031-2.342, P<0.01) and hypertension-diabetes (OR=2.655, 95%CI 2.492-2.829, P<0.01) were also independent risk factors for TG abnormality. Diabetes (OR=1.510, 95%CI 1.309-1.742, P<0.01) and hypertension-diabetes (OR=1.461, 95%CI 1.285-1.661, P<0.01) were independent risk factors for LDL-C abnormality. Diabetes (OR=1.261, 95%CI 1.180-1.346, P<0.01) and hypertension-diabetes (OR=1.195, 95%CI 1.126-1.268, P<0.01) were independent risk factors for HDL-C abnormality. Conclusion The prevalence of dyslipidemia in patients with hypertension and diabetes is high in Henan province, so adequate blood lipid education and control should be applied to people with risk factors as soon as possible.
